BRIO Tuscan Grille - St. Louis - Frontenac
Easter dinner at Brio Toscane yesterday, it was good, enjoyed the calamares, the chicken was also good, but next time I will give the salmon a try. Dessert was pretty good but I’d love to try the tiramisu as it’s the real Italian speciality.
And again no Licor 43!!!
Missed also the real Malbec
Easter. Need to have new chairs for outside tables and bring back the pepperoni!!!
I have been to Brio many times in the past and have always had a pleasant experience, but the only pleasant occurrence was having my favorite dish. We arrived early and they seated us right away in the bar area, which was absolutely ok with us (good people watching and the playoff game was on!). Brio was not busy at all, which we even discussed how odd that was... I think I know why now.
We sat at our table at least 10 minutes before I was staring and smiling at every employee who looked my direction. When one finally came up to our table and saw that we had brought our own bottle of wine, he quickly said that they "can't uncork outside wine in the bar area because it goes against liquor laws", and literally walked away - didn't bring water, ask what we wanted to drink, anything else. The only reason we didn't get up and leave is because it was a Saturday night and we knew the wait anywhere to else to get a table would be long.
About 10 minutes later he came back with water and bread; I quickly told him we were ready to order and we did. Our drinks came about another 10 minutes later and our food shortly thereafter by a food runner. Our server did not come back over until we flagged him down for the check - no refills, no additional drink offers, nothing.
I ordered my favorite dish and it was good, I have no qualms. My date's food was just ok; he commented that seafood was dry/overcooked - not that great and not worth the money.
We tipped ~14%, which was more than generous in my opinion.
I've been to Brio many times and have never had an experience like this; it was terrible. I can say that we left there knowing we won't be back for a very long time, if at all. There are too many other great restaurants with good customer service to want to risk another terrible experience.
This is one of my daughter's favorite restaurants, so she picked it to celebrate her birthday dinner.
She always orders the vodka pasta. It was a nice dinner; service seemed on the slow side this time.
It was hands down one of the best meals and service I’ve ever received in St. Louis. The pasta was cooked to perfection. I would highly recommend dining here when you get a chance ! If not, your loss.
We usually LOVE coming to Brio. Made a reservation on Saturday night for Easter dinner and was disappointed in usually delicious the food quality. Steak was ordered medium rare and served well done, salad was forgotten, other entrees just okay. Super bummed!
Waitress with no personality tried to be clever by not writing down our order, and as a result, items that we ordered were forgotten and others were prepared and delivered to the table wrong. She was mostly absent during our meal until we were ready to leave, then she acted surprised that some of our dishes were wrong and said, "my bad, I totally forgot you ordered that." Another classic example of businesses going cheap on the quality of service. Too bad for Brio, it used to be good.
We sat outside on a patio on a beautiful day just before the dinner rush. Food & Service was as I expected. Perfect!!
My husband and I went there for date night on a Friday night. Our waiter was great, food was delicious and the ambiance relaxing.
Great food. Great service!
Brio was disappointing overall. Our server forgot things and had to be reminded multiple times to bring us the requested items. Our food was lukewarm and frankly by the time it came, we were not even hungry. We were extremely patient but by the end she definitely knew we were not happy. She brought us dessert and apologized; however, we just wanted to get out of there. I'm not sure we will be back any time soon.
I met a friend here for lunch to celebrate the launching of her first book. We had a very tasty lunch and our waiter was very attentive. This is a great place to meet with friends.
Nice choice of soup, salad or half entree for lunch. Also a beautiful day to eat on the patio
Food has been in the range of mediocre to pretty poor since new management has taken over and definitely very inconsistent. The salmon this time looked grilled on the outside but pretty much raw in the center and cold on top of what tasted liked bagged lettuce. I expect better quality and preparation for an $18 salad. Convenient place to meet friends but don't enjoy the food anymore.
I have eaten here before and was satisfied with my order, but yesterday I ordered Chicken Marsala and it was inedible because it was over-salted and over-thymed. I’ve ordered this dish at other restaurants and I’ve prepared it, but the dish has never had thyme. The mashed potatoes and vegetables were fine. My husband ordered pasta Bolognese, but it lacked sauce and Italian flavor. We will not order these dishes again and will probably try Bricktop next time we’re in the area.
The server was very nice and pleasant but the new menu sucks. My salmon portion was tiny.
Food was great! The glass of wine my husband ordered was way overpriced and not worth the price tag.
Although crowded with several large groups the service was still good. Enjoyed our server’s sense of humor.
We love Brio. It has always been our go to Restaurant in St Louis. But this last visit left us disappointed. We were told they have new management and thing have changed... we think, not for the better. So sad. We probably won’t return.
We sat on the patio and had a wonderful lunch. It was a little windy, but the heaters compensated for the chill in the air.
Good food and pleasant atmosphere. Sitting outside is a plus during nice weather. Service was a bit slow however.
I was having lunch with a friend mid week. I felt sorry for our server because the restaurant
was very understaffed. Otherwise, a very nice experience.
My dining experience was one of the BEST EVER! Everything was awesome with an asterisk and my dish was absolutely amazing and most delectable. From the time of arrival to departure, from the bread to the Shrimp and Lobster Fettuccine, EXCELLENT and accentuated by a warm and wonderful waitress. I've been to nearly every highly rated restaurant in the region and BRIO Tuscan Grille stands Head and Shoulders above all for the TOTAL PACKAGE evening, food, service, ambiance atmosphere and personal attention. THE BEST BY FAR!!!!!!!! Pastor WDB
I order lamb chops, well done but upon receiving the dinner the chops were very rare inside
So I brought all three home and recook the chops
This were the first time I order them
So happy some "old" menu items were put back on the menu.
It seems the quality at Brio has gone down. The food was mediocre.
Very good service and love coming there all the time.
Food was good but service was poor. Waited 15 minutes for someone to come to our table. No one came. We got up and informed the manager. We also requested a new table.
Waited another 5 minutes after that to get waited in.
After that, service was good. An irritating experience. Overall, food was good and we would return.
Great food and great service!
Always good food and service . The menu appeals to all.
Brio is a “ go to “ destination for my wife and I, particularly when we are entertaining people from out of town .
We love the atmosphere ..... and the staff always is welcoming and professional .
Met for a Birthday dinner. All went well. Merissa was very attentive and accommodating!
I've often dined at the BRIO where I live in TX. I was hoping that this location would be comparable to the other location and it was. That has not been my experience with other chains since I've been here in MO.
Food was as expected, very good!
Service was same as I've always experienced when dining at BRIO in other states, excellent!
In our opinion, Brio's has lost some of it's appeal since it was bought out. The food was good during our recent dinner, but nothing special for the price. Portion sizes have been reduced (especially the protein serving). And, they no longer have those great mints for you as you leave the restaurant! Overall, no reason to rush back.
The soup was warm, at best. Coffee was the same. Waitress seemed too busy to ask for a warm-up.
Great experience. Fast service. Lunch meeting.
Great selection and presentations. Shrimp eggplant app is amazing. Fish dishes were great.
The Brio is our favorite place when we come to St. Louis, and our local friends eat there several times a week. But, this occasion, we all were disappointed, even the regulars. The lamb was over cooked and our service was poor. We had to tell the server what and when, which is not normal for the Brio. So, overall, we were disappointed this time.
In St Louis on a business trip, based upon location and quality I would go here again.
It is pretty and the food was tasty. The food came out fast enough but bar service was very slow.
