Italian
BRIO (meaning "lively" or "full of life") is a "polished casual" restaurant serving authentic, northern Italian cuisine. The subtitle, "Tuscan Grille" is descriptive for a menu that features oven-roasted steaks, chops, and seafood; similar to what one would find in an authentic ristorante in Tuscany. BRIO's philosophy of "to eat well, is to live well" is why they only use the finest and freshest ingredients. BRIO brings the pleasure of a Tuscan country villa to the American city. To learn more, go to www.BrioItalian.com

We are located at City Creek Mall, an upscale open-air shopping center. Parking is underground with the best access to Brio from the 100 South entrance. We are located one block from The Salt Palace Convention Center & the LDS Temple. We offer Happy Hour Monday through Friday 3:30pm to 6:30pm & $5.00 Martini’s All Day every day. We also have several private dining areas to accommodate 20-120 guests.

My friend was disappointed the carpaccio has less meat than before, and is buried in cheese, probably to hide the reduced meat volume. Very disappointing.

I was attending an evening performance at the Eccles Theatre on Sunday evening. Many restaurants in the downtown area of Salt Lake City are closed on Sunday. I chose this BRIO Tuscan Grille as it was open and had gluten free options. I reserved a table for 6 at 5 pm through Open Table. We were seated immediately upon arrival so I thought we were good as we only had a 3 minute walk to the theater and needed to be there by 6:10 pm. The restaurant was extremely busy of course but that was to be expected. But then we waited and waited. At 5:35 one member of my party spoke to the hostess about not being served. At 6:40 the waitress brought water. The on duty manager came by our table and apologized for the delay and offered a free appetizer. At 6:45 the waitress took our order. At 6:55 our food had still not arrived so I requested that my dinner be packaged to go and to pay the check as I needed to leave. Only one person from my party was able to eat their dinner there. Everyone else had to take it to go for after the play. I will say the manager tried to make it right with a significant discount and the free appetizer. The only input I would have is knowing they will be very busy on the evening of performances, especially Sunday due to the lack of dining options available, I would think they should increase staffing levels to accommodate the in rush. Also patrons should be advised to allow more than 90 minutes for dinner at those busy times. I believe I would recommend at other times but not a good option prior to a performance at the theater unless you allow along lead time.

It was busy and we had a large group but service was spotty to the point we needed to ask for someone to find our waiter to correct a food order. Waiter opened wrong wine. Also some food undercooked and some cold from the wait. Not a horrible place but been to many better

We enjoyed a very good meal at Brio. This is a perfect spot to finish the day in downtown Salt Lake at the City Creek Center.

Took over ten min to get water. First words out of servers mouth was asking if we wanted an appetizer. Came back ten min later, asked us if we wanted an appetizer..I told her that we ordered one and she said, “ Oh okay, I forgot to put it in, whatever.” Walked away and put the order in.

As one of the only finer restaurants at City Creek that takes reservations, this has become our go-to for nicer dinners whenever family flies in and we're in downtown SLC. The food is DELICIOUS and reasonably priced. While just a little bit on the noisier side, the ambiance is elegant. Both classy and lively, it's a great location for family events or dates. In my book, BRIO - SLC earns an unreserved five-star rating!

Our server took 20 minutes before she came to take our order. We had 90 minutes before our play began. The food came out at different times, several minutes apart. My husband had brought a cake for my birthday, but because she took so long to take our order and the food delivery was slow, we had to put the cake in our car and eat it at home after the play. It was disappointing.

Justin did an excellent job trying to make sure we had the best possible experience.

Located in a mall so the ambiance was unexpected in a good way. The lighting was nice, cloth tablecloths, excellent waiter and service. The food was really good, fresh warm bread, great lasagne, wedge salad, mushroom soup, carbonara, and my niece ordered the salmon special. Good family restaurant, something for everyone!

We heard that Brio was under new management or ownership, and had heard that some items had been removed from the menu. We were pleasantly surprised to see that they had a separate side menu with ‘returning guest favorites’ Only a few of us had dined at Brio before I recommended the Chicken limone and chicken Marsala (new name though) and the wedge salad, which are my favorites, and on the returning guest favorites- and the Chicken Limone was a huge hit. I’ve been to Italy and this has always reminded me of an authentic Italian dish. The wedge salad is one of the best! All nine of us loved our food- not one of us was disappointed. Service was excellent!

BRIO is always a go-to for us when you want a good meal and have not planned ahead with an early reservation. They are large enough that you can usually jump on Open Table and get the time you want. For their size and the volume of food they put out it is incredibly good and creative.

Outstanding service from reception to waiters. This is a great place for a date. The Calamari and Cesar Salad we shared were truly outstanding. The pasta dishes were good. No room for dessert as portions are decent size. The warm sourdough bread was exceptional. This was all done at a reasonable price. We will definitely go back if at the City Creek mall.

We were less impressed than the last time we went to Brio... several problems - new menu sucks several of the old items are no longer on menu such as the crab cakes with roasted vegetables. We ordered the eggplant starter which arrived with no sauce which is what makes this dish what it is! The beef was super tough and fatty and shrimp were bland! We don't plan on going back!!!

My wife and I enjoyed a quick bite to eat before a show. Food and service were quite good. Atmosphere is Italian decor including high ceilings and tall pillars. Was quite busy but reservation allowed us to be seated immediately and make our show time. Overall - very pleased with our experience.
