BRIO Tuscan Grille - Salt Lake City - City Creek
We are located at City Creek Mall, an upscale open-air shopping center. Parking is underground with the best access to Brio from the 100 South entrance. We are located one block from The Salt Palace Convention Center & the LDS Temple. We offer Happy Hour Monday through Friday 3:30pm to 6:30pm & $5.00 Martini’s All Day every day. We also have several private dining areas to accommodate 20-120 guests.
The pasta was excellent. The lamb chops were fatty and tough. Very poor quality. Cooked as requested. Lobster bisque was too thick for my taste and could have had more lobster. Our server was very attentive.
Good food and nice ambiance. The service was a little slow upon our arrival, but it improved throughout the dinner. We will come back again.
As always, the service was wonderful and the place is lovely.
The cost increases have been too significant in a short time.
Welcome to Salt Lick! I don’t know who wrote the raving reviews but pass the water!!!! Everything is awful and dry. Pick whatever you want to eat the seasoning will be salt! The lobster bisque is meh at best, from there it’s down hill. Eat at your own risk! Never again! We normally do not eat at chain restaurants due to this common issue but are in regret of not at the least going to the Cheesecake Factory right next door.
Great location. They were able to accommodate our large group, and make it still feel intimate. The service was OUTSTANDING!
Great ambiance and classy place for work, romantic or friends. Great hot bread and crackers. Waiter a little roped and late on getting us a few things but very professional. Food good.
Great restaurant, in a central SLC location. Good food, friendly staff.
Food was outstanding and a good choice in SLC. Adjacent to one of the best malls in America!
This was our second time at Brio and this time we brought my in-laws while they were in town. There were 10 of us and we had a private room, which was great. Though the doors were open to the room and every time the front door of the restaurant opened, we would feel a draft in the room (quite cold as it was December).
As for the service, we had to ask for bread 3 times, though the room next to us, who was sat after us, and had a larger party had received their bread. We had 4 children, who were hungry, so the bread was to tie them over until our appetizers arrived.
The food was honestly mediocre. The Children’s menu and food was not good. The children all ended up eating the adults food. The Children’s Chicken Parmesan was literally their chicken tenders with a small amount of red sauce and a small amount of mozzarella cheese. Had this been told to us, we would’ve ordered the adult Chicken Parmesan and split it between the children. There were a few good adult meals that were ordered. So overall, the food was a 3 for us. After we left, we definitely felt that the near $400 bill was not worth the food OR service that we had received. I’m not sure that we will be back.
Ladies night out! We come here every year for our annual ladies night and always enjoy the food. I love the easy use of open table for reservations.
We made a reservation and were seated right away - Great!
Our server came over and took our drink order - Great!
We ordered 3 appetizers (calamari - so so/artichoke dip so so/ crab cake -came late and was just 1? Party of 9?) - not so great 🤨
Drinks came and we ordered dinner -great
Dinner came...here is where it all went downhill...3 entrees then a few minutes later 4 entrees then a few minutes later 1 entree and then after us all sitting there for almost 8-10 minutes with dinners getting cold the server noted we didn’t have our last entree and went to check on it...it arrived about 4-5 minutes later...he just said the chef was sorry??? - Really... Not so great!!
Our appetizer plates were never cleared even as we started to stack them on the corner of the table trying to make room for our dinner?? - really poor
Once finished with dinner we were asked about desserts, we ordered 5 desserts and the birthday girl was provided a tiramisu - nice 👍
My real concern is that many service issues were just overlooked..
I thought that with the lack of table service and the late entree issue we might get the late arrival meal comped but NO! Poor customer service 👎
I can appreciate high guest volume and shortage of service staff BUT customer service and acknowledging their shortfalls might be best served with a comped entree, a visit from the manager or something.
I didn’t raise a stink (took the moment to be a better person) but felt it my duty as someone who has been in the business for 40+ years to document my observations.
Customer retention is how you stay in business.
Sorry BRIO we won’t be back anytime soon.
$400+ dinner 😟
Wonderful atmosphere, food and service. The price was reasonable for what we received. The only suggestion I have is to provide some additional lighting at the tables. We could barely read the menus and had to use flashlight on our phone to see. Everything else was great!
Very slow service
They had run out of basic Italian staples: Meatballs, Chicken Parmesan. Terrible service, ignored much of the meal. Food was late coming out, lukewarm, and we got the wrong thing on two entrees. Just ate it anyway at that point. Really poor experience overall, especially for the price. We won’t be back.
Enjoyed the food!
The food was fresh and well seasoned but the service was terrible. The waiter, although nice, couldn't sync up anything and he struggled to absorb information. It was so bad it almost ruined the night. Also, we were charged for items we didn't order but we ultimately decided to pay for them to avoid additional delays and confusion. Finally, the waiter sent us home with the wrong leftovers! In short, the restaurant seemed understaffed and the waiter seemed very distracted. Given the price point, the experience was disappointing.
We had stopped going when they removed the best things from the menu like the Salmon Fresca. Now that it’s back we are back. Food was wonderful. Best we’d had in years.
The food is always good and the service was fine. Our wait was longer than usual but was okay.
Dinner before the Nutcracker. Server was so accommodating for our time restrictions. We loved the food as well.
It’s fine for what it is. Chain Italian restaurant. Slightly better than OG in ambiance, food and service. The bread was delicious! I had the Chicken Marsala. The veggies that came with it were also really good. The chicken was juicy, but didn’t have much flavor and the mushrooms in the Marsala sauce seemed like canned as opposed to fresh. The pasta dishes my party had were good, but nothing special. They cook their pasta al dente, which is a bit chewier than what most people are used to and a few people in my party weren’t fans. However, that’s more of a personal preference and nothing against the restaurant. Just something to be aware of if ordering pasta.
Overall, it’s a decent place to go. I’d go back and I would recommend it, but it’s just a better than average chain option.
If they are not pressed for time, the food is excellent and staff is very pleasant.
From arrival to dining, wonderful experience. The server recommended a really good chardonnay, will order again. Husband had the spaghetti; in his opinion the basil sauce was a bit heavy handed but tasty. I had the grilled salmon served over sautéed spinach with asparagus spears. The sauce complemented everything on the plate. Wonderful flavor blends.
Only two of us dining; however, the table of 16 next to us lost the conversational ambiance for us. Perhaps large groups could have a separate section from smaller diners, i.e. 2 to 6 people.
Server was friendly & attentive. Thank you for making a Christmas date nite enjoyable.
We like to go there before the theater. This time the table was not ready, service was slow, I guess due to Christmas Holiday. When they know it is going to be busy they should bring in more help.
Good food and environment. Great place to meet as a family
Brio never disappoints, its food, service and convenient location are excellent.
My party of nine arrived on time for our 11:45 AM lunch reservation and our tables weren't ready. Once ready about 10 minutes late, we sat for about a half hour before being attended at all - no water, no bread, nothing. Once the waiter finally arrived and took our orders, it was another long wait for food. I was pretty bothered by then, but the food tasted so good that it calmed me down a little. Our appetizers and main course meals were excellent. Still, one simple meal came 10 minutes after the others and drink glasses went empty for long times before being refilled. Not sure if they were short staffed or what, but for a lunchtime, this was inexcusable. Smaller parties were seated and served quickly, we observed. So, if you want a place with excellent food and are in a small group and have good timing, excellent place to eat, though slightly pricey. Large groups, take your chance if you have a long time.
A very pleasant dining experience. Nicely appointed dining room with soft surfaces so it was easy to converse with our dining companions. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable. His recommendations were very helpful. The menu was not overly saturated with all dishes Italian. The food was expertly prepared. I would highly recommend the chopped salad and Pasta Ala Vodka. I look forward to eating here again.
Food was good but they don’t let the kids make their own pizzas anymore ☹️. They also had ran out of milk, olives and one other entree. The service was very slow. It seems like the level of service and quality has not maintained over the last few years. So we were kind of disappointed but the food tasted great!
Really enjoyed our visit to brio Tuscan. Food was excellent, service subperb and reservations people above the required.
They said our reservation had been cancelled. It had not. Then they said they would seat us only when I showed the reservation confirmation in my phone, but we had to wait. Then I got an email afterwards from Open Table saying we had missed our reservation. We hadn’t. Our server had no personality and seemed to want to rush us. Didn’t offer dessert until we asked for desert menus. Didn’t keep our drinks full. My husband was told the entree he had ordered wasn’t available after we had been waiting some time for our food. The server came and said they were out of beef medallions. This was late afternoon not late in the evening. He had to reorder. The food was okay. Overall edible but not especially memorable. The service would have improved the experience significantly.
The server was wonderful. Food took FOREVER to arrive.!!!
Appetizers arrived with dinner.
We had to rush our dinner and barely made after dinner plans!!
The service of a personable server could note compensate the time we had to wait. No time for desserts, etc.
Food was expensive for average tasting and small portions. My daughters chicken finger kids meal tasted better than all of our meals.
My nephew wanted to go to Brio for his annual birthday dinner that we annually treat he and his wife too. The atmosphere of the restaurant was lovely. It afforded us a lovely environment to sit and relax and enjoy each othes company. Sadly, the food was tasteless. My husband had Pollo Caprese and I had Pasta Brio. Neither of us felt our meals had much flavor and were very disappointed. We are not picky eaters and can think of numerous restaurants we love. When spending over $130 for 4 adults and a child grilled cheese, the quality if the food should be amazing. This was not. I will not go back, and my friends will be warned.
We have been there and had really good food. For some reason the dishes that we ordered on this night were not that good and somewhat disappointing.
It was a very busy night at Brio. We had reservations and were sat by 1750 BUT no food until 1855. We had to hurry to make our concert at Eccles.
The beef medallions at the Brio at Fashion Place Mall in Sandy are 10 times better than what is served at this location in SLC. I was disappointed but our chicken Marsala entree was very good. Service was excellent!
Prompt seating. Food was OK, seemed to be slow service at first but then the food server was attentive. All food came out at the same time, which was unusual as one was a starter salad and the other was pasta. Which I sent back to wait till I was finished. Therefore, it was cold when It was returned to me. Pricing seems a little bit steep for pasta and a salad ($35.00).
Booked a time slot for slightly before my entire party was suppose to arrive since it was my friends birthday and his guests were a surprise. Unfortunately I didn’t get seated for 15 min and the entire party ended up arriving and waiting by the door. What a bust. Secondly I arranged with a hostess to have a birthday surprise cake brought towards the end of the meal. Restaurant staff was aware this was a birthday dinner. Guess what, the waitress brought the check and no birthday cake/dessert. She also didn’t posses the manners to work in such establishment. She was rather rowdy, unrefined and spoke poor English. Table we got seated at was also subpar, I specified this was a special night and requested a nice seating arrangement. There were a lot of great and secluded tables in the restaurant that were open yet we got seated at the worst one. Although the food was great I won’t be coming back.
The server was rude and way over his head. Our entrees came out before our appetizers, very lame. He didn’t even offer any solution, so I declined the appetizers. Very weird
Nice place for a date, service and atmosphere were great. The food was good but not as good as I would expect for the price.
