About BRIO Tuscan Grille - Lombard - The Shops on Butterfield
BRIO (meaning "lively" or "full of life") is a "polished casual" restaurant serving authentic, northern Italian cuisine. The subtitle, "Tuscan Grille" is descriptive for a menu that features oven-roasted steaks, chops, and seafood; similar to what one would find in an authentic ristorante in Tuscany. BRIO's philosophy of "to eat well, is to live well" is why they only use the finest and freshest ingredients. BRIO brings the pleasure of a Tuscan country villa to the American city. BRIO Tuscan Grille - Lombard - The Shops on Butterfield Ratings and Reviews
This location is GREAT! The server was great. She took my order and all of our requests were executed perfectly. The food was amazing. I am a server in the downtown Chicago area and I wish I could work at a place were the food is so good that you barely have to talk to your guest, like this restaurant. I mean all three courses were phenomenal and the bill was even better!
I've wanted to visit here for awhile and today I finally did as an early birthday present to myself. It was well worth the wait - the service was excellent despite it being crowded the food did not disappoint. I ordered lasagna and as I was eating it the cheese was literally melting in my mouth I have never tasted anything like it before in my life. This was an amazing experience and I would highly recommend visiting here!
Nice restaurant with very good+ food, large portions and reasonable prices. Limited, but nice, wine list, very reasonably price compared to some other local restaurant prices. Has an 'open' feel to the restaurant, would not be 'romantic' if that is desired ambiance. Would recommend for nice dinner out for couple or group. Would also be nice choice for business dinner.
Price per person is ~$60+ with salad/appetizer, main course, dessert, less expensive wine (bottle) and tip. Very good value for price. Upscale dining, but not real high end pricing.
I'm a creature of habit and if I order something and LOVE it, I tend to order it over and over. I've been to Brio 4 times in the past year and I always order the salmon. It is by far the best salmon dish I've ever had! In addition to the food, love the service and the atmosphere.
I know everyone has a bad day, but when you arrive at work, it should be left the door. Our server was in patient and attentive and Kurt. The food was very good and your restaurant was selected by the birthday girl because of your delicious lamb chops. When we asked for the entry/seafood of the day, the serving didn’t include what any of the sides with her and when asked was Less then Gracious with her response. I would recommend more than one chocolate option on your dessert menu… It’s mostly women that order dessert, and most women order chocolate. I have been to this restaurant numerous times and have very good service in the past, but if it was a person’s first visit they may not come back again after the level or lack there of of service.
I've been a huge fan of Brio. Food has always been good, though it is a very noisy restaurant. We sat on the patio hoping it would be quieter. Unfortunately there was a loud group on the patio so that didn't work out.
Our food literally came out 5 minutes after we ordered. Clearly not freshly prepared. I had salmon. The vegetables were overcooked and there was way too much balsamic dressing. The waiter asked if everything was good. I said "just ok". He said "that's great!". The salmon didn't look or taste like salmon. It had no flavor at all. I didn't complain further. I honestly didn't feel like it would make a difference.
The other two people with me had pasta dishes and said they were good.
We were looking for a relaxing slow paced meal. I'll rethink it before I go again. Lots of other places to try.
I went with a friend to celebrate a birthday. The food was good, but nothing spectacular. It was way overpriced for some pasta. The service was super slow! My friend and I ordered margaritas and although they were really good, the waitress didn't show up with them until our entrees arrived. My friend had also ordered a salad and it never came. Someone else delivered our entrees to us and shortly after our waitress came to the table with the salad wrapped in a to-go container, but didn't ask if she still wanted to eat it there....she just assumed. She did remove the charge for the salad from our bill. Water glasses were not refilled. A carafe of water on each table would solve this issue, if the wait staff do not have the time to refill water. I wouldn't return. There is much better out there and at a more reasonable price.
Great Value - good food , good ambiance, good service, clean - what more could you ask for an upscale neighborhood restaurant? We look fro Bravo or Brio where we travel- especially when travelling with the extended family- everyone finds something to enjoy and its affordable. It's allergy/peanut friendly cook/wait staff make this place unbeatable. Highly recommended.
We have always enjoyed going to Brio. The only improvement that we can suggest is that the food should be more consistent. On one visit, we will order the Chicken Milanese and receive two plump juicy chicken breasts with the meal, and then other times we will receive a thin flat tough chicken breast. The rest of the meals that we have had at Brio are delicious.
