BRIO Tuscan Grille - Lombard - The Shops on Butterfield
Dinner after play at Drury Lane with wife and her friend
Condescending the waiter food was extremely mediocre portions were small pay downtown prices for Lombard area definitely not the same portions as they used to be will not be back
This was our 2nd visit since April. My husband and I waited about 10minutes before a waiter came over to check on us.
My entree was chicken pasta caprese and it was so so. The chicken was dry and you could tell that the dish was sitting under the warming lights too long which dried out the pasta. The chicken pesto was so so also. I was disappointed with the service and food.
Our table service was horrible. We stopped coming to Brio over the last 18months because the food and/or service has been so poor. We gave it another try. We will not be back. Just across the way are 3 other restaurants to choose from. Two people at our table ordered the lump crab cake. One was lovely, white color, lots of chunks of crab. The other looked like whatever was left from the bowl after making the first one. How does that get served? I never received a glass of water, let alone asking me if I'd like another sangria. Waitress was terrible. And didn't seem to care. No napkins or silverware, no water, no bread basket. No refills. Twice I had to walk in from outside to the bar to ask for service. We were celebrating a birthday and it turned out very very poorly. Very disappointed. The bar service we received from Lorenzo was so amazing before we moved to our table that I personally tipped him an additional $20 to let him know that our service had been so poor and we appreciated how hard he was working to provide better service. Also, it would help if the African American Manager didn't disappear when guests appeared at the bar looking for assistance. He never once made eye contact or made sure everything was taken care of. He was more interested in chatting with the servers who were also not attending the guests.
Father’s Day family dinner.
Feeling quite bad for the restaurant. On days such as Father’s Day customers should realize it’s going to be busy. Tough that customers, without reservations, waiting long time, get angry towards front staff.
Many people left due to waiting extreme length of time due to no reservation. Also heard from waiter three employees walked out during their shift leaving staff short on a very busy evening.
I recommend making a reservation to this restaurant on special holidays next time.
We had no issues.
Great waiter who recognized us from previous visits and great tasting food.
Reservations at 5:00 pm, we waited over an hour and a half for our food, asked to speak with a manager twice, no no came over. We had our salad and two kids meals that took over 45 minutes to arrive. Never again, do not eat at this place. Main course never came, they gave us the bill for salad and drinks that we should have never paid, people waking out left and right without paying. Poor management staff, not the the wait staff. Poor customer service
We celebrated Father's Day. The food and service were excellent!!
The food is very good. But our waiter was not very good, he needs to followup his assign table sometimes. I highly recommend this restaurant because the food is delicious.
Service was great but the food wasn’t.
Not worth the money and quality subpar. Crackers served were stale. Artichoke dip was cold and gummy. Beef medallions were very small, and probably got what was left in the pot for my chicken soup. If you want authentic Italian food, go to Maggiano’s down the street.
The first time I dined at this venue, I really enjoyed it. The second time it was acceptable. This was my 3rd and final visit . . . it was extremely crowded, noise level was very high, wait staff was overworked and not very nice, bordering on rude. Service was slow when it did exist. There was a very loud altercation between a bartender and a customer . . . food when it arrived (after a long wait) was cold.
As I said my final visit.
All the food was very good. The restaurant was not crowded and my only disappointment was that our waitress would be absent for quite a while between visits. On the other hand she was kind and did a great job giving us all separate checks.
Our server, Allison, made the day for us.
Fish was overcooked and waiter had a hearing problem.
Brio has always been a “go to” for us. Maybe not so much anymore.
Took 20 minutes from the time we sat down for them to bring us bread.
Waitress was delayed bringing our drinks because “her mother stopped in to chat”.
Food was good but nothing exceptional.
We had great service, friendly bartender & waitress. Food was good & reasonably priced. This was our second tine there & we will definitely be returning!
They brought me the wrong dinner so they took it back and by time I got what I ordered, the rest of my family was almost done eating. Even after bringing back what I ordered, I was very disappointed in the quality. I have never experienced this at Brio before. Very disappointing. Didn’t offer to comp my meal or throw in a dessert – nothing.
This is one of my go-to places to dine. I have introduced many people to this restaurant and they have all given rave reviews as well. The quality of the food and staff have never wavered.
Do not like the changes to the menu
Great food and our server was fabulous. I would recommend BRIO to anyone.
I love the lite menu. Great favor. Low calories. Then I have desert.
Nice weather and music
Delightful setting and very good food. Our server Alison was charming.
I have been recommending this restaurant for years to friends and clients. We even had my birthday party there in 2016, December, because it is where I wanted to be. Everything was always excellent, except this time. Our waitress, Jada, was very good, however, we received raw chicken which was quite apparent, and the manager was kind enough not to charge us for the dinner which we were splitting. However, I was worried that there might be raw chicken juice in the sauce, which was the same that they delivered to us originally. Made be very squeamish when they just cooked the chicken and returned to same plate. We asked for lovage in our bread basket and they said they were out. How does that happen on a Saturday night? Does no one check in kitchen with a thermometer for doneness? Regretfully, It will be a while before I return.
We were pleasantly surprised to have a private dining area for our large group for a family get together. We had great service and great food. This place is great with kids!
We have been to BRIO Tuscan Grill a number of times in the past and we were never disappointed.
I don’t know if it is under new management or what, but the food and service this time was very disappointing.
There were six of us and the only items anyone truly enjoyed were the wedge salad and margherita flatbread. One person enjoyed their entree. Even the presentation of the food was under par. Sad.
Our waitress was inattentive and almost rude. The one serving our wine overfilled our glasses and dripped wine across the table...
Always love food here, but this time underwhelmed .
Shrimp pasta, tasteless and mushroom ravioli, dry, Except for chicken picatta, , the diner that had that said was good.
Service extremely slow, and few things we asked for never came.
We didnt care, but if had to be somewhere would have been an issue.
First time dining there was a disappointment so , maybe new chef, but now , would have to think about going back.
Disappointing service, but good in all other respects. Waiter not only slow to take our order, bring drinks, ice on request, etc., but pointedly looked away when we tried to call him over. Food and ambience were hood, though. I’ve been to Brio quite a few times and never had poor service, so this was a surprise.
Disappointing from previous experiences. Kitchen was very slow. Barely a dozen tables occupied and our food was a long time coming. And what happened to the dessert menu and/or tray? We were offered a dessert menu but got a verbal list with no description.
My lunch partner’s ravioli was very salty and the server properly removed the item from the bill. My lasagne was very good
I had heard great things about Brio. But we did not have a good experience -out of the seven of us Only one enjoyed their meal. The calamari was undercooked, the artichoke dip was cold , The chop salad was Wilted and wet, the shrimp in my pasta was overcooked. I won’t go on. But I will say that the Lobster bisque was amazing!
food was not good, service was exceptionally slow and it was not crowded. ambience was nice but I would not go again based on the food, value and service
Birthday celebration. Nothing special (e.g. no birthday dessert) from Brio.
Excellant food and fantastic service. A bargin. We were very happy.
Always a good time at Brio Tuscan Grille. Food is tasty and diverse. The servers make it a point to please.
Beautiful day, sat outside on the patio. Milanese chicken super tasty and great service.
We sat outside and it was lovely. The food was very good however our waitress was not attentive.
Normally love going to this Brio, unfortunately on our last visit- service was terrible! Waiter rarely checked on us if we needed refills or anything. He just seemed mad that he even was at work. Food took over an hour and a half, half our food came out cold.
I'm assuming that my less than positive review is due to the fact that the restaurant was very busy for Mothers' Day. My wife and I arrived about 5 minutes early for our 6:30 reservation and were seated right away. The waitress came right away to get our drink order and then our soup and salad order. We were done with that around 6:45 and had put in our food order when we received the soup and salad. We both ordered the Shrimp and Lobster fettuccini. The waitress came by at 7:30 to simply say that she checked on the status of our food and it was almost ready, with no apology for the delay. It was almost an hour by the time that the food was delivered to our table. We certainly expected more than a few scraps of lobster for the cost of the meal. After we finished eating, the waitress placed the dessert menu on the table and walked away. She returned about 10 minutes later to find out that we had no interest in having dessert. I have been to this restaurant a few times before. I was very surprised that the food and service left a lot to be desired.
We attended Brio for Mother's Day. The atmosphere and service was very good, but the food was okay, but underwhelming at best--especially given the prices. A bit of a disappointment.
