BRIO Tuscan Grille - Kansas City - Country Club Plaza
Beautiful setting!! We sat outside looking over the Plaza. However the service was slow. We sat for quite a while before being greeted. The food was just ok this time usually we love it!
Service was very very slow just getting waited on and getting a glass of water and getting our drinks. Had to flag down another server to take our order. I know our initial server was very busy with a large party that was right next to us but we waited at least 15 minutes just to get a glass of water. Food came very quickly once we did order and it was great. I had a birthday coupon that I wanted to use and we had two separate tickets at the table but he ended up applying the certificate split between both and couldn’t seem to figure that out. Rather frustrating experience.
Was a little disappointed with this visit today. Met a friend for lunch. I’m on a special diet so I only ordered a small salad and water. I’ve done this many other places but I always tip like I’ve had a full meal with wine! Server was almost rude when that’s all I ordered. We had to ask for more water and tea by waving her down. Maybe she was having a bad day but...... I still gave a larger tip but I did think twice about it because of her attitude.
Amazing happy hour until 6:30 on weekdays!
Celebrated a lovely birthday dinner at BRIO Tuscan Grille. Our server was great and offered his recommendations. The grilled salmon with asparagus and the lobster/shrimp fettuccine were delicious! We all enjoyed the sweet deserts and it was just the right finish to our dining.
Food was good but service was awful. I sat on the table for 10 min before my waiter came and not even introduced himself. Friends that I was waiting on were not greeted and also we waited a long time to put our order in
Our overall experience was horrible.... We have dined at the restaurant many times before but I must say, Saturday was our last. We waited nearly 10 minutes for a greeting and from that point forward, it went down hill fast. We literally had to ask for every single thing. We asked for a manager and was told, one was not on staff at that time. I would never recommend the restaurant and now I know why Brio was the only restaurant on the plaza with MANY open reservations, now we know why.....
The food was good, not great. The service was the same. Nice ambiance with outdoor dining and street performers nearby providing dinner music.
We had the Shrimp and Lobster Fettuccine paired with Wente Chardonnay and the Shrimp Capri paired with a Sauvignon Blanc. Out meal was very good. We also enjoyed the white peach arnold. I finished with the best tiramisu! Crystal, our server, was very pleasant and accommodating.
The food was beyond delicious. Would definitely go back and recommend it to friends.
My best friend and I reserved a table at Brio in Kansas City for a Girls Night Out. The service was excellent, the food was amazing, and the atmosphere was pleasant. We try to eat at Brio once a year as it never disappoints.
Food was very good. This was our first time at Brio’s and our waiter Marvin M made our dining experience really enjoyable. Will definitely return!
Too expensive for what you get. Service was not at the level that the prices would indicate.
Great food, great service, crabcake was as good as any I've eaten in Maryland.
We got to sit outside upstairs on their balcony. There was a live band playing inside, it was only loud if someone walked out and left a door open. The service was great! The atmosphere was wonderful. The food was good. The spicy eggplant and shrimp had an amazing sauce and wasn't too spicy at all. Loved it! The lemon ricotta cheesecake, I didn't care for. For me, it tasted like sweetened ricotta. It is supposed to be a combination of cheesecake and ricotta. It didn't taste reminiscint of cheesecake at all and virtually no lemon flavor. Overall, a really nice dining experience and I am looking forward to going back and trying out they're other dishes.
The staff was overworked and it took us a while to receive even bread. The food was not at all what I expected and tasted horrible. It lacked flavor and it was way overpriced. Would never come here again. I payed $130 without tips for my family of 5 and we all left hungry.
I was disappointed in BRIO. I was expecting high quality food and good service, but received poor service and mediocre at best food.
We were initially seated outside. 10 minutes went by without a server coming to check on us and ask if we were ready to order. We went back inside to the reception desk. Waited a few more minutes before we were approached. Eventually we were taken to a booth inside. When our waiter finally approached us, he was great and very attentive.
We were able to use the balcony patio seating and enjoyed our experience. The service, ambience, food and view of the Plaza area was outstanding. We would definitely recommend Brio's and look forward to another dinner ourselves.
Another nice early dinner at Brio. My date and I both had the salmon dishes she had the grilled salmon and I had the seared salmon. Gloria provided excellent service.
BRIO was amazing - service EXCELLENT - the view of the plaza AWESOME - and the food was PERFECT
we will go back there - FOR SURE -next time in KANSAS City - and -Frankly- might take a trip to KC - just to visit the BRIO TUSCAN GRILLE
We come here with our West Point Parents Moms every year. The reason being they have the best service! Thank you!!
This is a great place with lots of options a great menu and gives you a wonderful, warm, and inviting atmosphere.
Disappointed in the lunch portion size. I had salad and chicken pesto sandwich, salad was ok, nothing exceptional but when sandwich came out afterwards it was barely 1/4 of a piece. It was two small slices off the breast, little piece of tomato and big piece of lettuce. that meal was 14.44. It was not a good value in my eyes. I could have had the flat bread that would have been cheaper and more for the money I found as another person in our party ordered. Also, we were never offered dessert. The top was not open for lunch seating we found out and it was a beautiful 70 degree day and the 6 of us were planning to set outside. That could not be accommodated downstairs.
My BIGGEST complaint is the waitress/server rounded up my bill and kept my 55 cents change. That irritates me more than the tiny sandwich portion you served. It is unacceptable to me to do this to customers so her tip was a lot less so that it included my change she kept. There are many places in the Plaza to eat and unfortunately this would not be my recommendation for many reasons. It was however the place my friend chose and it was her celebration that brought us there. You ask for the survey so I'm being honest in the feedback on our visit not just to complain. My last visit to the Plaza was 2 weeks ago at Cooper Hawk. There was no survey asking for feedback because the service and food was excellent from the start to finish.
We really enjoyed our meal at Brio! Great service, friendly staff, and delicious food made our evening perfect! Of the four plaza restaurants we went to, Brio is our favorite!
Food is delicious. The pasta vodka with shrimp added on was quite nice! Portions are in no comparison to what you would get at a family owned Italian restaurant so at the end of the day when you are paying for pasta and don’t leave feeling full (had to supplement with bread) it’s a little frustrating. I’d suggest getting appetizers if you are coming for a full dinner. Ambiance is nice and service was great. But if I’m going out to eat, and my fiancé can attest - we want a nice value given the cost.
Really nice place for lunch or dinner. Great food, and ambiance. They have a nice outdoor balcony that is a nice place for a glass of wine or dinner.
The shrimp in our dish was very tough, service was a bit slow considering the crowd. Host never really said hi or welcomed us. Celebrating a birthday but food was disappointment.
Keith, our waiter, was knowledgeable and friendly and very prompt. The food was pleasant Northern Italian fare. Great kid's menu, too.
They need to tidy up the place, because there was food on our seats and the floor next to our table. We mentioned it to the host and she just said that it must have been kids sitting there, but she didn't attempt to get it cleaned up. We then told our waiter to get a manager she acted surprised that we were bringing it to her attention but after insisting several times that the floor needed to be swept she finally swept it up. It was also our Anniversary which made it even more uncomfortable. FYI: We are not newbies to Brio's we have going there for years. We ordered 2 lobster bisque for our appetizers, the menu said they were $8, but when we received the check we were charged $10 each instead. We told our waiter and he changed the charges. Despite of it all the food was very good. I hope they improve these things otherwise we will be dining some where else.
Arrived at 10:50pm with the kitchen closing at 11pm; we were welcomed, treated like it was normal dinner time, served with a smile and the food was the same excellent quality.
Great service and food was pretty good👍🏻
Hadn't been there in several months, but enjoyed the food and appetizers. Good place to eat.
7 guest birthday party. It took an hour for the first two guest who arrived to receive their bar drinks. Bartender took their order but never made their drinks. Switched servers, the party as a whole placed a drink order with server and it took 30 minutes to receive drinks. Need I remind you it was a Wednesday night and there were only 2 other tables in the whole restaurant and there were no guest at the bar. Once everybody received their drinks they all tasted water down. Including my DOUBLE patron. Waters were never refilled. I, the birthday lady, had to give my water to my guest. It took the server 3 times to get the checks right. I, a server myself, am the most understand person when it comes to the restaurant industry. But there was zero excuse for this poor quality of service. I’ve been to this location before and everything went perfectly smooth so I took this time as a fluke. Just sucked that it had to occur on my birthday!
It was a very slow night, so the noise level was non-existent. Our waitress was pleasant and attentive. Food was excellent.
We are from the Tulsa area, and had not heard of Brio. Our daughter found the restaurant online wanted to try it out. The atmosphere was great, noise level was excellent, however the food was not what we expected. I had the grilled salmon with asparagus and sweet potatoes, my daughter had spaghetti pesto and my wife had a spaghetti dish that was supposed to have roasted tomatoes with mozzarella and basil. While mine and my daughters meals were excellent, my wife’s was subpar! The sauce with her meal tasted mote like what you buy in a can or jar at any grocery store. I would give the restaurant another try when we are back in the area, but I would look for another place to try before going back.
As always everything was wonderful! The ambience was comforting and clean, the food server was excellent, knowledgeable and friendly, and patient by giving us time to just talk and then decide what we wanted to eat. He also made several suggestions and answered our questions about different items on the menu. This was the first time I have eaten here for lunch, as I often come for brunch and a few times for dinner. But as usual everything was exceptional. In general I shy away from chain restaurants but this is one that I really like and I keep coming back.
Overall the food was good. My particular entree was less than favorable, but the others in our party enjoyed their meal.
My family and I enjoyed a great meal. Our server, Brooklyn, was very attentive and knowledgeable!
The food was amazing, as always. I had the Salmon Fresca. It's my favorite dish there. Our server, James, was on it the whole time. He was great. We never had empty glasses, and he made an effort to get to know us. Can't wait to go back!
