BRIO Tuscan Grille - Jacksonville - St. John's Town Center
We were out to celebrate a 40th anniversary. The hostess sat us, and no one came to our table for more that 20 minutes. You only had 7 customer tables active at the time... so it’s not like your staff was overwhelmed. Was hoping for a better service experience. Christine finally stopped by and asked if we had been taken care of... and her high level of service salvaged the rest of the evening. She deserves a pat on the back. But your host team should the “seat em’ and forget em’ mindset.”
Service was impeccable! Food was amazing! Brio is fast becoming our go to special place! All of the staff went out of the way to make our anniversary that much more special!!! The steak was perfectly cooked and my favorite dessert was excellent!!!
Excellent service and great food
Nice place. The food was good, but not remarkable. For the price I can think of other places that offer better value.
We went to hear the band that was playing on the terrace. We don't normally go to chain restaurants and was pleasantly surprised. The quality of food was outstanding and the service very good. We plan on going back. The band was excellent and added to the evening.
Extremely disappointed! The food was not prepared or presented well. The service was worse than the food! I guess that’s why there was so few patrons. I’ve been to other Brio’s and had a much better experience. This one is very poorly managed. If they don’t change they will not survive.
Our food server was terrible. Had to request things several times (water for then table, bread for the table)… salads and a starter (everyone's first course) were not brought out at the same time.... we were rushed by the server to leave. She brought our checks before we were done eating and made the assumption that we did not want desert. We asked for desert menus and she asked us twice for our desert order before all of us had finished eating. There were MANY empty tables on a Saturday night so there was no reason to usher us out. Poorly trained. Probably my last time going to Brio for dinner.
Nice food nice ambience but acoustically loud
This was our first time at Brio and I don’t think we’ll be back. We found the service to be “meh” and the food was just ok. For the price there are much better places to go eat.
I ordered a cocktail, and my husband ordered a salad. We also each ordered an entree. Everything was served at the same time: drink, salad, and entrees. We asked for their signature crackers in our bread basket, and were told they were out of them.
Service was wonderful. Food was great. I had the Lasagna which I had to split with someone else since it was so large. The lamb and the steak which were both ordered “medium” were very rare. All in all not a bad dinner. We will be back
I give Brio a needs improvement on their service. We ordered wine. I had no idea it came with a choice of 6oz or 9oz pours. The food server didn’t ask us which one wanted and charged us for the 9oz pours. I was a bit shocked at my bill. The dirty plates stayed on the table WAY TOO LONG as well.
I brought my daughters here for Mother’s Day. My oldest had the spaghetti bolognese and my youngest had the kids cheese pasta. They both loved their meals. I had the lamb chops, my favorite whenever I come here. My only issue were the potatoes. You can tell they didn’t allow them cook thoroughly so some were actually crunchy in a sense. I noticed that the sides continuously change with the lamb chops. The fingerling potatoes were definitely the best. Please bring those back. Overall everything else was great along with the service!
Reservations for Mother’s Day set for noon. We were seated, served, bill paid and out the door at 12:35. Veggie omelette was fantastic.
We took my wife here for lunch on Mother's Day. This is the second time visiting this restaurant in 31 months. Candidly, the experience was the same. Extremely slow service. Pedestrian Italian food. Relatively small serving for the price.
1. It was 12 minutes from the time we were seated until we first saw a server;
2. We ordered drinks from the bar that was located in a breezeway between the patio and inside seating. The Sangria sat on the bar long enough the ice had melted and watered down the drinks. We saw the drinks sitting on the bar for 10+ minutes. (I should have just walked up and got them myself!)
3. I ordered Spaghetti Bolognese. It was in a bowl with approximately a cup of noodles twirled with a 1/2 cup of meat sauce. It looked more like an appetizer portion for $17! I am not a big eater so the portion was fine with me because we also had an appetizer and bread.
4. As we left we walked through main dining room as we were seated on the patio. All of us in the party commented how loud it was and thankful we were not sitting in the main dining area.
This was the same experience my and I have July of 2017 for our anniversary dinner. Honestly, I'd go to Olive Garden before visiting Brio again.
The food was bland and left much to be desired. Service was mediocre. Definitely not worth a $100 meal.
It was perfect, it was my friends, my prom date and I and it was just what we needed!
9 of us dined here after my son’s graduation Sadly 3 of us left without eating because of how poorly our food was prepared
frozen tasting meat and green beans ribeye over cooked green beand under cooked
Our book club met here for dinner and discussion! They were kind enough to accommodate our large group of 10! We had excellent service and delicious meals; we will definitely be back!
Great restaurant. Lasagna was delicious. Service was great.
Lunch prices are very reasonable. Service was good. Also a good place for drinks and appetizers
The selection of your menu card wasn’t satisfying. We are missing the Italian flavor.
Furthermore the waiter was arrogant and we weren’t well served. The noise from the bar was much too loud.
Patrons should not ask for “bread”. If none is available, we should’ve been advised that bread should be ready soon. It appears the waiter did not want to be there. His demeanor showed. He definitely was preoccupied with something. Our first to experience a this kind of service.
I took my family here for our Easter brunch. Brio offered a very nice Sunday brunch for Easter
The service was great; our server was wonderful. This was on Easter Sunday. However, the food was somewhat lacking for the price. We had the Lobster Bisque and from the brunch menu, the french toast. The bisque was a fairly thick soup (a bit too thick so it was more like a chowder...), flavor was just ok. The french toast was just sugar--loaded with cream and maple syrup. Without the syrup, it didn't taste like much either. Bloody Mary's were just ok too. It was our first time there. Apparently, they were ready to go for the lunch rush, because we sat down, got all of our drinks, appetizers, and main course and finished eating between 11:14 am and 11:38 am. It was too fast. It also gave me the impression that all of this food was prepared well in advance and that was also reflected in the flavor. For the prices they charge, I expect there to be some prep time. Not sure if we will go back. It wasn't bad, there was just nothing remarkable enough to justify us going there for another round.
We went to Brio because of the good reviews, and we were more than pleased by our experience there. It was a lovely place with a great menu and wonderful service. Every bite we had was delicious, and we definitely hope to return there in the future for another great meal.
I have dined before both dinner & brunch. This particular brunch outing was the first for this year. We were meeting a friend & chose to sit at the bar (which was empty). Upon arrival, I greeted the hostess to let her know that we arrived before our friend & we would prefer to sit at the bar. I told her we had reservations & she acknowledged such on her tablet.
Bartender was attentive & professional (but only gave us the dinner menus so I asked for the brunch menus instead). My sweetie appreciated at least one of the TVs had the Masters game on. All three of us enjoyed delicious meals.
After arriving back at our house, I noticed that I rec'd an e-mail from Open Table saying that I missed the reservation. When I called the hostess to explain the problem, she acknowledged she remembered me & also that it was her fault for hitting the button on her tablet that we were not "seated" (since we sat at the bar instead). She said she would fix the error so I would get credit (which it appears I did b/c I rec'd an e-mail asking for a review).
I understand that it was a Sunday night and the place only had a couple of parties, but it was not the quality of service or food I've come to expect from previous experiences at other locations. This was truly disappointing, especially since I had brought a dear out of town friend - who is in the industry - which makes me debate whether I will return or not.
My family and I love Brio! When we saw a location when were on vacation, we were ecstatic. Unfortunately, the atmosphere, nor food was good on that day. We were there on a Sunday at 5:30. They were not crowded. This location does not measure up to other Brio locations. We were very disappointed!!
I would recommend Brio to a friend, but with a caveat. The food at Brio is generally average to slightly above average. Brunch today was the exception. I asked for some changes to my meal. I clearly explained what the changes were, and my dining partners clearly understood what I was asking of the server. The 3 meals came out, and mine was 100% wrong. It wasn't even close. For a second try, I explained what I wanted again. The second time, it was also completely wrong. The manager delivered it, and when I explained again, what I wanted, she said this isn't even close. NO KIDDING! She suggested they make it for a 3rd time. I said NO. My dining companions were already done, and it had already been close to an hour since they received their meals. She said the cooks most likely didn't understand because they don't speak english. I expressed my dismay, because the first dish that came out, I was allergic to some of the ingredients. The second would also have been an issue for me. If the cooks cannot communicate with the staff, how can they assure they are cooking with ingredients that won't harm someone. She said when someone has an allergy, the sous chef makes it. Well, if the sous chef can speak and understand english, why didn't he make mine, or explain to the other 2 chefs, what I wanted. I found this to be a poor excuse for my meal being incorrect. I didn't eat anything except bread. I got a free coupon for an appetizer, and a PLEASSSSSEEEE come back. I told her I would never be back for brunch-that is for sure. Maybe this is why the restaurant is always empty.
I love Brio's! This was our Anniversary dinner. The live entertainment was loud and made it hard for us to talk. Although I loved the music, we probably would have enjoyed it more if we had been seated a little further away. Overall, it was a 10!!
The food was delicious, but the service was mediocre. There was trash all over the floors. It was definitely not busy while we were there, but it looked like they hadn’t cleaned up after dinner rush. We ordered drinks and food pretty quickly. The server took forever to come back and check on us after the food came. By the time she came back it was just past 10 so we were told we couldn’t order dessert. Disappointed. Don’t know if we will give it another chance.
My Fiancé and I were celebrating our anniversary. Brio was great the ambiance was wonderful. I loved the aesthetic and the high rise ceiling. The food was amazing. I had the pesto chicken and my fiancée had the chicken marsala. Both dishes were magnificent! If you’re looking for a night out or even a lunch with a few drinks, your first choice should be the raspberry mojito! I have nothing negative to say about my experience at Brio. The service was amazing and it wasn’t crowded or loud. I had a great Date night.
Great food! Great service! Always a great meal! We love to go there!
Great food with excellent service, what more could you want.
The food was good, but the service was somewhat slower than in past visits. The restaurant was not very busy, maybe they didn’t staff to an appropriate level.
Brio never disappoints in the food department or service. Noise level quite high despite our attending after the lunch rush or before the dinner hour. This location could use some update decor.
Good food, good service, great mints. The boho was a great idea
Well in the beginning we almost waited 15 to be greeted another minute we were going to walk out but once we were finally greeted everything was on point the drinks came out fast appetizers came out fast and almost the entree came out quick food was very good think in the future they need more wait staff in a section so people can be greeted promptly cause I know there was two other tables that were waiting and it wasn’t slammed in the restaurant either
