BRIO Tuscan Grille - Irvine - Spectrum Center
It was my fiancé’s 43rd Birthday and it was a surprise dinner with his family. The food was great, our server Josh was very accommodating and the ambiance was very relaxing. Being that we’re a big party they placed us is an area where we’re somewhat away from the crowd so it was nice.
I will only eat hear again if I can get a table on the patio. It is way too noisy inside for polite conversation. The food was excellent but the server and kitchen seemed overextended at 6pm on a Wednesday. Clientele is a bid odd too. There was a table nearby with women straight from the gym, no shower or change of clothes. Uncivilized for a $20-30 per plate restaurant.
Very nice place good food and service
Just fine- terrific server
Came in about 6pm on a Monday, not a very busy time. Happy hour was still going at the bar. There were two of us at a booth around four other full booths and one large table of 10. Our waiter was solely focused on the large table and barely paid attention to the smaller parties. Took 20 minutes for a mango ice tea. The food was Fantastic, The Lamb was phenomenal, the staff was nice, but the lack of service was less than desirable. Maybe additional help for the staff when larger parties are present, would make a difference. Will try again.
This is my go to business lunch place because they get you in and out with amazing Italian food! :)
The restaurant is not accomodating and the food is not filling due to paltry portion sizes. Furthermore, I ordered my pasta without pancetta, but it was on there regardless. When I requested it without pancetta as I had originally requested, they just picked it out for me. I'm vegetarian, so found their approach to be insensitive and dismissive. We had some vegan friends in the group, and the restaurant couldn't accommodate one dish for them or adapt one item on the menu.
I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone. It was for my 30th birthday too, so that added to the disappointment of wasting the experience at this place.
Brio is one of my favorite restaurants because it never miss steps in service and very rarely in food. This night I had their fettucini (sp?) with shrimp and lobster and it was superb! And enough for lunch the next day (I could have finished it, but I wanted dessert). I did try their raspberry mojito and it was good, but didn't quite work for me, the seeds were too much and the raspberry didn't mix well, just sat on the bottom. I prefer a lemon mojito. For dessert I had the fresh berries with zagblione (spelling again!) sauce. The berries were fresh, sweet and perfect. The sauce was good but there was too little of it and it was served in a glass where all the sauce went to a narrow bottom so you couldn't get to it with the berries. It was still delicious and I just drank the bit of sauce that was there once the berries were gobbled up!
If you are a local I'd say go for it, but if you're from out of town, not so much. With a map we still had to stop for direction twice. Spectrum Center is a shopping center. We didn't know what we were looking for & the street names aren't much help. Once we got there & ordered our food it was fine. My husband & I order the same 2 entrees every time we go. The food was good but not as good as at the Brio we go to at home.
Food was fabulous. Bartender and management were fantastic. New waiter not so good but forgivable given lack of experience.
We love your lounge patio.
Amazing food and great wine selection. It was only our second time there but both time were amazing! The crab cakes are to die for!!
We had an open table reservation, early, restaurant not busy, and our party had to wait 10 minutes past the reservation time for our table. Why? The food is unremarkable, and some of the traditional italian dishes are prepared incorrectly. The service was inattentive. Not a great experience overall.
We used to go to this location all the time when it first opened and it was great! This time was different. We went at a time when it wasn’t busy, at all. There was only one other table and us. The waitress took forever to get our orders. Then we ended up getting the appetizer after the main dish. Never checked on us once and didn’t refill our waters. Not sure why but seriously, the restaurant was empty.
It was a very quite night, will have to make a point of visiting in holidays more often.
Great as always
Our waitress was a bit slow. She misunderstood my order. Too much bad lettuce in the salad. They took a lot of things off the menu. And when will they have wild salmon???
Absolutely amazing service with a very funny and time efficient waiter. Great dessert presentation for Grandma’s birthday as well, hid behind her and presented the treat. Very clever and fun. Amazing food ALWAYS
Awesome experience!! Wait staff and management provided excellent service!!
Yummy!! Relaxing! Reasonable wine prices, bread basket was delicious, salad crisp + fresh, perfectly delightful entrees. Good time.
Good food, nice ambiance, convenient location. The service is consistently over-burdened and distracted. I'll be back, but there is some room for tightening up the game at Brio.
Good service food just ok, I would give it a second chance
We went to celebrate our 29th anniversary. Waiter was very attentive but got one of the orders wrong. Would have been nice if they gave us a little celebratory cake for this occasion. Food was delicious
This is a great lunch spot for meetings! The staff is very tentative and the food is exquisite! :) I highly recommend them.
First time visit, a little odd we made reservations to celebrate and then were told by the restaurant they don't do that. We made reservations for 01:30pm and sat out on the patio; there were only two other parties out there and they still sat us directly next to another group. The server was very personable and friendly but not very attentive, it was clear she was most likely in the back prepping for dinner service etc. All in all, I'd recommend the restaurant but a little disappointed on our first visit.
We made 9:15 pm reservations on Open Table but when we got there at 9:05 pm, all of their doors were locked. People were still inside. I called and a girl said they were closed and would remove my reservations. We then had to walk around Irvine Spectrum to find another restaurant, we were starving! Luckily, we found Kabuki restaurant and had a very delicious and filling meal.
Update: Open Table emailed me that I was a no-show. I called Brio and spoke to the General Manager. She was very nice and said they should not have locked the doors one hour before closing and that she will speak to the staff. For my trouble, she will take care of our dinner the next time we are there. Wonderful customer service. Thank you! Changed review stars for her response.
It seemed like a slow night so the place was semi-quiet. The ambience was quite enjoyable. My salmon was excellent. The men enjoyed the lasagna. You can not go wrong with any dish there. This is not my first time there. I would definitely recommend Brio to my friends.
When we first came in we witnessed a person complaining to two employees.... at great length. We ordered non alcoholic drinks a caesar salad, shrimp and lobster fettuccini and the lamb. Drinks came, then bread basket and butter. We sat with only bread for over 45 minutes from the time we arrived until our food came 30 minutes after we placed the order. Ran out of butter but was really hard to get the attention of anyone to get more. Basically did not feel like chasing service. We did have to ask for napkins and utensils. The lamb looked wonderful but was terribly salty. I love salt. It was way too salty for me. The fettuccini was dry. Never had an offer to refill or order another drink. Another very odd thing was having to walk through the food prep and pick up area to get to the restroom. Something is wrong with that. We were seated near a large family that had three little girls that never sat down and climbed all over, danced in the walkway and squealed the entire time we were there. They should have gone to a park, not a restaurant. No one who worked there seem to care that we had to put up with this obvious intrusive annoyance caused by poor parenting even though it was right in the path of all the waiters. Generally was not please by the $90 visit.
The food on this visit receives mixed reviews because 2 of the entrees were not originally what we have come to expect from Brio. HOWEVER, the response from the Manager and Waite staff was extrodinary. In the end all of our party were very satisfied with their meals and extremely pleased with the response from the Brio personnel. We left the restaurant knowing we would return soon!!
Brio is a good value with overall pretty good food. My group all agreed the food, in terms of variety on the menu and quality, has gone down a notch in the last 2 years. My wedge salad had tasty dressing and additions but the lettuce was not fresh and had brown spots. Pasta dishes and other entrees were quite good but some of my favorites have gone off the menu which has shrunk. We will still return to Brio but won't if the menu is made smaller or quality goes down any more.
Reservation process was handled well. We were quite late but they were considerate with us. Food presentation and taste was just average and nothing really different from other average Italian restaurants. The one thing that they should improve is their service in terms of bringing out orders in a reasonable amount of time. We waited for at least 30-40 minutes for the entrees. Appetizers and drinks were quick though. No issues with our server. She was very friendly and alert. Overall, a good experience.
Great food, but we experienced poor service from the grumpy hostess and our servers who brought wrong food, wrong drinks and a lobster tall after dinner was over.
Just wish the waitress was more enthusiastic and spoke clearly. Had a hard time understanding the specials.
we showed up 11 min late on Frid night due to no parking at all in the structure and the hostess told us that she canceled our reservation, thought that was rude for a short time as many people may be late on Frid night/traffic, also the restaurant was more than half empty so there was no reason. I ordered lobster bisque soup, which was one of the worst i've had in my life. i ordered the beef medalions with gorgonzola cheese, but they didn't write i would be getting cripsy gorgonzola when i expected a cream sauce, the vergetables were so bad, all the food and soup was super salty, ambiance was bad. never going back.
Meeting with accountant - Quiet - allowed us to have a business discussion
Great food and service - would definitely recommend.
Food was just ok and the service was terrible. Only saw our server when he took our order and dropped off our check. Never refilled our drinks and food was like warm.
This was a return visit for a Sunday brunch. Our server, Josh, was excellent. Their new ribeye was overdone and lower quality than other food from Brio, so we had it swapped with the fish of the day. The process was painless and the whole family had a nice visit- thank you!
Came back for the salmon salad, but disappointed that this time the salmon portion was much smaller and more expensive. Best place to seat is patio if you want to avoid background noise.
The food and service were not the best. As we were being seated, the waiter was standing asking to take our order. We hadn’t had a chance to even sit down or look at at menu. It felt like they were hurrying us out. The food was not the best. It tasted like it was frozen food that had been heated up. It didn’t not taste fresh was homemade. It was not worth the cost.
