BRIO Tuscan Grille - Houston - City Center
Liquor is way to expensive. Food was of good quality. Attention from the wait staff was a bit lacking.
Good location and service. One thing I feel uncomfortable is no draft beer.
My first experience at Brio on the recommendation of a friend. The menu is not very extensive, but offers enough variety to cover all the basics. If you require something extra they will accommodate your request if at all possible. I asked for a side of spinach with olive oil and garlic ( no sides listed on menu) which they did although it came seasoned with some unusual tastes and was not to my liking. The entrees were tasty and nicely presented. Portions are of a little less than average. The service was excellent, prompt and accurate. Brio is labeled as a Tuscan Grill and I'm not expert on what constitutes Tuscan cuisine, but their take on some of the classic Italian dishes differs from my previous experiences i.e. the Spaghetti Carabinari lacked the creamy sauce typically used. Very tasty, but different. The overall setting is tasteful and relaxing. The rooms are large and I don't know what it would be like at peak times . All things considered I would recommend it ,but I found the pricing a bit excessive. Two people, an appetizer, pasta entree and a shrimp entree, one dessert, no alcohol and tip was approx. $100. Of course this is not untypical for a City Centre location.
Service was well and friendly! I recommend the restaurant. The miss from the menu the appetizer Brusqutta
Came here with my mom, wife and kids for Mother’s Day. Service was horrible and very unprofessional from the moment we arrived. The front desk lady was upset because she said it was a busy day. Which I definitely understand; however, it should still be enjoyable for guests and her attitude did not make me or my family feel welcome. We ordered a calamari appetizer and it was served within 2 minutes. Not fresh, hot and it was soft not crispy, obviously had been sitting for a while. This place did not make me feel like they wanted my business but rather to go elsewhere. The flavor of the entrees were okay but not enjoyable due to the service and the server making us feel rushed. Did not meet my expectations for what was paid.
Very disappointing. I usually love this place and order the Salmon Fresca all the time. Mother’s Day was not a very good day here!
The day we dined was Mother’s Day, and nothing special was offered for Mother’s which seemed strange compared to many other restaurants offerings. The service was not on par this day and it should have been extra attentive. Refills were slow or forgotten. My wife actually ordered another Sangria and it never came to the table. My food was hot and good, but my daughters fettuccini Alfredo was cold when brought to the table. Although the experience was not great I will not say that I will never eat here again.
Ok, I will admit rating a restaurant based on their performance on Mother’s Day is challenging. Brio was packed (the wait time was 60 to 90 minutes) but we had reservations and were seated immediately. The noise level was high and it was hard to have a conversation with mom over all the noise which is not a good situation to be in on Mother’s Day. The food and the service was average.
I love Brio but On Mother’s day, Sunday, May 12 was the worst meal that I have ever had. First of all, when we first sat down, we ordered our drinks. My husband hadn’t joined us as of yet so I ordered him water to start with. The waitress never asked if he needed anything else to drink. My mother ordered the lobster bisque but when it came the portion size was smaller than usual. She said it tasted great though. We ordered the calamari as an appetizer. It came and was delicious, especially the red sauce that accompanied it. The waitress seemed like she was trying to rush us out. We ordered our food, I ordered the chicken limone, my mother ordered the chicken balsamic salad, which she said was delicious; my daughter ordered the lasagna, and my husband ordered the spaghetti cacio e pepe. The serving size of the spaghetti cacio e pepe was ridiculous. It looked like a serving for a child. And my husband said it was basically flavorless. My chicken limone had no flavor, and the egg that the chicken had been dipped in was visible as if the chef had coated it in a fried egg. Previously when I have ordered his dish it had a sauce on top of the chicken but this time no sauce just dry, egg coated chicken. When we finished our entree, the waitress came by, didn’t say anything to us and laid the dessert menu in front of us. We didn’t order dessert, but the waitress didn’t offer us coffee or anything else. However, she was prompt on refilling our tea glasses throughout the meal. My mother was the only one that ordered an alcoholic beverage but the waitress acted irritated because we hadn’t ordered alcoholic drinks. (Yes, we are aware that restaurants make more money on alcoholic drinks than food) Overall, Sunday’s meal was the worst meal that I have ever had.
Good food and good service for Mother’s Day brunch.
Even though the restaurant was full of prom goers our waiters took great care of us and the food was great
Sad they changed the menu.. they no longer have bruschetta 😩
They have changed the menu and the food was sub-par at best. Our server was not good and acted like he didn’t want to be there. I miss the old Brio.
Always a great meal!! Absolutely my favorite place!!
Food quality was not good . Shrimp and lobster were over cooked
Overall was excellent! Great food and service!
Extremely slow service. Took nearly and hour to get served our food after order was taken by server. Not ideal for a business lunch that took 1:45 minutes to eat and then pay.
The food was really good but bad service! Would come back for the food
Menu was different from other Brios I've gone to.. Calamari was chewy and cocktails were not good.
Our family enjoyed a lovely Easter lunch at Brio. We had a party of 10 and thanks to open table our spot was reserved easily.. service and food were both excellent!
We love Brio- it has been our Easter Brunch tradition for 5 years. The food is always good . The service has been lacking the last 3-4 times we have visited for dinner or brunch.
Patio ambiance is nice.
Great experience. Wonderful food.
Had a lovely experience! Good food and service and quiet enough to hear each other!
We were there for Easter brunch. All 3 orders of our Biscuit Benedicts had over-cooked poached eggs on them after we had specifically asked for soft yolks. We should not have to ask for soft yolks because that should be the norm but the last 2 times we've been there we've received yolks that were over-cooked and hard. My brother-in-law ordered an omelet and asked to have no onions but when it was delivered it was filled with them so he had to pick them all out. The waitress showed him her ticket showing him that she had noted that he did not want onions. She offered to bring him a new plate but he did not want to wait 20 minutes for another plate. The manager was very nice and stopped by and gave him some sort of discount on his bill. This is not the first time this has happened; this is the third time this has happened. It's a beautiful restaurant and the service is great but we're afraid to go there now because the food quality is not controlled. Is there an executive chef there or is it just cooks? Is there an expeditor there that checks the plates before they go to the table? Thanks!
Easter brunch Sat out on the patio. Would repeat anytime.
Had a wonderful Easter brunch. Wish there were a few more brunch options available but the food and service was absolutely top notch.
We love this restaurant! We hosted our wedding reception here and it’s always a special place for us.
Service wasnt the best but the food was great
We came to celebrate my daughters 16th Birthday. The good was yummy and the staff was attentive. Everything arrived warm to our table. It was my first time dining there and I will be back.
While the service was good, I was extremely disappointed in the food. Having previously eaten there, I was expecting to be just as satisfied, however the portions were way too small and the food was mediocre at best.
Food was not good at all and its way overpriced. We Sent a dish back and was still charged for it. I wanted something a little nicer for a birthday and was very disappointed.
I chose to sit for a client lunch in the bar area and enjoyed perfectly cooked salmon over a bed of sautéed spinach. Our server was very attentive and conscientious of our time dilemma (45 min to get back to work) and subsequently our food was promptly prepared and served.
I love Brio, the food, the atmosphere, the price is fair and the friendly staff. To that end, I visit regularly. That being said, I believe I have had good to great service 1 or 2 of the (probably) 30 or so times I've been in over the past years.
I recommend Brio for a great happy hour, lunch or dinner with the caveat that your meal will be leisurely (not necessarily a bad thing) and service might be a bit lacking.
Everything was fab. Our waiter was very attentive and easy going. Food was spot on and the location is great.
We had poor service from the moment we arrived at the restaurant. We had to ask the waitress to refill our water multiple times and she rarely came to check on us. We were told at the front desk that we would receive free ice cream since it was one of our guest birthday. However, our waitress told us we would not get free dessert. After ordering dessert, the waitress put the dessert on the birthday girl’s tab. We asked if we could split the dessert on two other people’s tabs and she said she could not split the dessert on multiple tabs.
Food and atmosphere was great. Everyone had a great time and the wait staff was outstanding.
It is a great restaurant, since the beginning they were very attention, careful, and kind. I loved the food. IT WAS AMAZING
We had my daughter's birthday dinner there and it turned out perfect! Our waitress was wonderful. She got us out in time for another event we had. The food was delicious.
