BRIO Tuscan Grille - Farmington - Westfarms
Our salads came with the salmon buried under the salad. At first, I thought this was rather odd, but when we dug the salmon out, it was clear why they chose to hide the salmon. We both were served very small portions of the salmon tail which was overcooked and dry. So much for requesting that they not overlook the salmon. Disappointing..
So this visit to Brio was a bit of a mixed bag. Our waitress was very good and we got our salads promptly, but our food took well over an hour. We got there at 5pm and the restaurant was packed. We got our food about 6:30pm. Food took forever, but it was very good food as usual and they felt so badly that they gave us our meals for free. The wait time was unacceptable, but I've always had good service the other times I've visited and they immediately waived our bill so we will be back.
Celebrating both Mother’s Day and my wife’s birthday. Mentioned this to the server and thought there might be a special “treat”. There wasn’t!
Overall service was fine, but entrees did not includ anything but bread. When u pay $17 for spaghetti with meat sauce, u would expect a little something more.
Wait 20 mins beyond our reservation time only to be seated with no setup. We had to ask twice for silverware and water.
I never recieved my salad that found its way onto the bill.
Shrimp and lobster fettuccini tasted good and found the lobster after I put on my reading glasses.
Grear service and everyone loved the food ! They have lovely gluten free and vegan options
So we had reservations for 1:30, we arrived about 10 minutes early and still had to wait until 1:30 since they were busy, which was understandable. Once we were seated they forgot about us, no water no menu no bread, nothing for over 20 minutes. A waitress finally asked if we were being taken care of. We said no, she called the manager and the manager didnt just apologize she took care of our entire bill for being unattended for so long. We gave the waitress who actually noticed us a very nice tip for spotting us. I would go back not because our meal was free but because the manager did the right thing and took care of us. She couldve have just apologized and gave us a free dessert instead she took care of the entire bill and there were 4 of us. For that reason i will tell this story and tell others to go to Brio’s.
We went here to celebrate mother’s day. The service was a little slow at times but it was understandable because the place was busy for the holiday. The food was great, the ambiance was welcoming, and the waitress was really sweet so I think we’ll be coming back again soon!
Food seemed like it had been hanging around a bit. My chicken was dry. I asked for more sauce and was charged for it.
Brunch was delicious and staff was extremely friendly!
Food was ok, went for brunch, breakfast items were so so, lunch entrees we're good. Service was ok.
Decent food and service. Kids friendly. We ordered wine which was soo good but when reordered the same wine, it tasted not so good. Over all nice place and food.
Way to cold in the restaurant. Very uncomfortable to enjoy the meal. But server was nice to move us to a table with less cold air blowing on our necks.
We had top shelf service from the moment we were seated. It was 7 friends getting together, and we all commented how good the food was and how nice everyone was to us. I highly recommend this restaurant for group dining.
The hostess was unwilling to look up my reservation I had made through Open Table. Other than that, it was a great meal as always, with good service.
The food was fantastic. Enjoyed the night very much.
The food was excellent, as usual, and the wait staff was conscientious without hovering.
Great service but the two plates were a little bland. Not the usual flavorful dishes I’m used to at Brios.
Awesome waiter and great food!
The food was amazing. The waiter was great! The hostess was rude when we checked in and when she seated us. Overall, the experience was amazing and I will go back again.
Really nice ambiance for small groups, food is great as long as you are not a lacto-vegetarian or vegan. Not even a soup option that wasn't meat, fish, or milk based. At least flavor remains for salads when the small amount of cheese they contain is left out.
Waitress was really nice. I felt bad for her. Restaurant understaffed. Food took over an hour to arrive at table - meals were cold, one meal missing the sides. Manager had some meals remade and comped the bill, which was kind, but did not make up for the really long wait in a restaurant that was not anywhere near capacity. Second time I've been here in 9 months - first time was very slow too - but it was packed. Will not return.
We frequent Brio, and always have a wonderful time, the food and the service are always great!
Great, as usual
Came for a birthday dinner- we always enjoyed this place but we will never go back after this experience. The food was cold, the appetizer came AFTER our dinners, the waiter brought the wrong drinks to us, twice. Called the manager over and he said I’ll make sure you don’t get charged for the appetizer, but acted like we were making this all up. Horrible experience- won’t go back for sure.
We ordered ham & biscuit Benedict. It was inedible. The egg was way overcooked, ham and biscuit both hard. Seemed like food had been sitting under warming lights for hours (we arrived at opening). Work being done on roof so alarm beeping continuously during meal. Will never go back.
Everything was very good. Server was very attentive.
Having enjoyed Happy Hour here a number of times, my wife and I decided to have an early dinner following a walk in the mall. After reading some less than stellar reviews, we were ambivalent about our plan but went ahead. We were promptly seated and found ourselves revisiting the reviews regarding the service as we sat there. After almost ten minutes and seeing what was obviously a meeting going on through the open kitchen door, I got up and asked one of the hostesses. A minute or so later, our charming waitress was at our table and apologized for the wait, explaining that the manager had a meeting with the whole wait-staff. Since our reservations were for 5:15, that probably wasn't a bad time for a meeting although the hostess should have explained that to us when we checked in.
The manager personally came over with a mozzarella and tomato appetizer as an apology and explained that he's trying to bring up the level of service and there's no ideal time to have a meeting like that.
I had the Caesar salad with four large grilled shrimp and my wife had a grilled salmon dinner. Drinks were fine and the food was very good. Our waitress was attentive and, other than the timing glitch at the beginning, this was a pleasant experience.
Food was fair, service was great! And I didn’t get any points through open table.. :(
Food was mediocre and took over an hour to arrive.
Terrible. Go somewhere else. I have been there a few times in the past and had no problems and food was acceptable. The place must be under new management or shall I say no management!!!!! 630 reservation and seated on time and ordered full meal and drinks within 5 min. 1.5 hours later got our entrees. No apologies and no manager to explain why. The whole restaurant had a similar experience. A guest got up and started pouring other guests water from the server station because all the wait staff were hiding near the kitchen, afraid to face the reality that they are on a sinking ship with no captain. The wait staff seemed lost and confused and certainly were not trained in any level of customer service. The manager finally came over after one guest got irate and got up to leave and she got an earful. She looked upset herself that she was put into the situation she was in and was not prepared to handle dissatisfaction and disappointment and said nothing in return. Starting with a simple “I am sorry” is a good place to start. I have to say in the end they did not charge us and several other customers for the meal but at that point the damage was done. It was the least they could do. They should have done more. A gift card with the note of we are sorry please let us try again as we had an off night would have been appropriate but like I said they have no clue how to treat customers. Oh and BTW the food was not good. Amateur at best. Steak looked microwaved and pasta portions were small and dried out from being under the heat lamps for who knows how long. Kitchen is a disaster and expediter was clearly not present. Lost my business for good. In this day and age with SO many dining options how are you this bad at it and expect to survive.
In my decade or more of open table reviews I have never written a bad review like this but I could not hold back after this experience. Spend your money elsewhere.
Good atmosphere, menu changed and so has quality of food.
We love coming here! The food is delicious & always perfectly cooked & seasoned. The servers, hosts & managers make sure you have a great experience!
What a fantastic mid afternoon Sunday lunch we did have! From the amazing crab cake appetizer to arugula salads with salmon to Brio's sour dough bread and everything crackers ... not a crumb was left on any of our plates! Seriously! And the Bellinis ... how could I forget that frosty deliciousness in a glass!
First time here in a while and the portions of macaroni were extremely tiny. Looked like a side of pasta that would come with your main meal instead of being a main meal itself.
if you love crab cakes, the Brio appetizer is a must try! With bread and a side salad, it's a great meal. Just one request, Brio ... please bring back the Malbec!
This was the worst experience. It took forever to get the food. When we asked the waiter he said it’ll be right over then disappeared. He also asked if we wanted more bread but never came back with it. . My 15 month old was with us and the waiter said “anything for the kid”. But they never gave us a kids menu. My dad’s root beer was flat. We finally flagged down a waitress who was wondering why we were still waiting. The manager came over. Said the kitchen was backed up. Mentioned comping desert but we had the bill paid by the time he came back with the menus. My sisters Cesar salad was a pile of lettuce with 4 sad looking shrimp that they called “jumbo” and it was $18. We won’t be returning.
Pasta was over cooked. Entree did not include soup or salad with the price. $26 for lobster and shrimp fettuccine only, which I wouldn’t have minded if the pasta had been prepared properly.
Very slow service and cold food and coffee. Had to send it back
Having dinner many times here I expected the combination menu. The waitstaff said there was just the two new lunch menus. After about 5 minutes later she returns with the combination menu. Not sure if this was an attempt to upsale but please keep the combination menu.
