BRIO Tuscan Grille - Danbury - Danbury Fair
The flatbread ordered as an appetizer was less than impressive and the pasta bolognese could have used more sauce. The salmon entree was very good, however.
Expensive. Food was ok, not great, which is what I would have expected for the price. Won’t go back.
Honestly it was awful. We were a table of 7 and there may have been 3 other tables (parties of 2) at most. There were 3 waitstaff. Ours was not attentive AT ALL!!!! Actually rude when we asked for things. He forgot one persons ENTIRE MEAL. She ordered the lunch combo and she didn't get her soup we had to stop another waitstaff to assist and she told him but instead of checking or correcting he then forgot her entrée!
My coffee was ice cold, someone else ordered a latte without cinnamon and it came with cinnamon.
This was a horrible first and last experience. BTW our waiter was more attentive to another couple at a different table, shaking hands, always there, sitting with them.
We reserved a table for Mother's Day so it was very loud and the service was slow. But the server was great and the food was delicious as usual. It is a favorite of ours and we will definitely come again.
While I understand that it was Mother's Day, the service was as if nobody had ever worked on a holiday before. Took well over an hour and twenty minutes for the food to come to the table. Steak was over cooked. Took along time to clear plates. Yet witnessed alot of staff standing around. Very disappointing.
Mother’s Day was lovely. Food was a little slow to come out of the Kitchen, but to be expected on such a high volume day
Food is always good and ambiance is always a pleasure
Now that the new owners have taken over and totally change the menu I am no longer a fan of this restaurant. The meal sizes have shrunk while the prices have stayed the same or gone up. Many of the most popular dishes that we used to order here are gone and the new dishes I'm not nearly as tasty Italian style as before. couple that with their quick to expire rewards program which has become worthless and I don't think I'll be visiting brio very much anymore. This is common when new owners take over and I believe they will ultimately destroy this chain.
Surprisingly good quality and elegant setting. The soup and mushroom ravioli were excellent. I will be back
A bit more upscale than Cheesecake Factory, which is next door. The waitstaff was pleasant and attentive, and the food was good, for a reasonable price.
Order the chicken w/capers and lemon. Very very good.
Food was delicious. Quick seating. Will definitely be returning to the Danbury location!
Food portions are small but taste was delicious. Service was good but took awhile to receive check. Overall good experience
Very nice place. Food is good but not exceptional, tends to suffer from waiting under heat lamps. But very comfortable place, good service, good menu.
Great service. Melanie is wonderful.
Always great food at a great value. Great ambience.
Consistently excellent food and service. Very attentive and efficient wait staff. It was not exceedingly busy at the time my party and I were seated or through lunch, as it was early, which made for a very pleasant and quiet atmosphere. Will be back again very soon. There are a couple of dishes I would like to see back in the menu, but I do understand the need to introduce new items from time to time and drop others.
I had a family party with eleven people for my husbands birthday... the food took really long , and it wasn't as good as usual. Our waiter was a very nice person, but seemed dis -organized , the table was partially cleaned off and coffee was being served. He wasn't on top of the soda refills either . We had like 20 empty soda glasses on our table when we completed our dinner. We do go as a couple, often, and usually like it, but we were really disappointed this time.
Seemed like an off night. Food was served like it was sitting under a heating lamp for an extended time.
Had the lasagna for dinner, I would love to see more pasta dishes offered for dinner along with more seafood options.
Nothing exceptional, but nice place to go to once in a while
Our server Kristy made the experience delightful! We were there as things were picking up and getting busier and she made sure we had everything we needed. She even took the initiative to ask the kitchen to split a serving of soup into two bowls so my boyfriend and I wouldn’t have to lean over the table to share. The food is always great, we’ve been there several times and have adored everything we’ve tried! We will be back again soon!
Dinner was great, except very very loud it was hard to have a conversation at the table. The BIGGEST disappointment was dessert. We went there for my husband birthday but the new dessert menu is horrible. It was so bad that we sadly left with no dessert or coffee or celebration. We then went next door and grabbed 4 slices of cheesecake and went home to sing Happy Birthday. Even the waitress admitted the desserts are not good since they changed the menu.
We use this location as a central meeting place. We were able to eat and visit without feeling rushed. Great lunch.
We came here for happy hour drinks and appetizers. Everything was very good. Initially we sat in the wrong place but the waitress accommodated is and moved us to a booth by the bar, which for us was an even better, more intimate spot. We had a great time!
Delicious food; friendly, helpful service; and we didn't have a problem getting a reservation/table even on Valentine's day.
Enjoyed our dinner of shrimp Capri and shrimp and lobster fettuccine. Would be nice if salad were included as part of the meal. Hostess and wait staff were great!
Dinner was delicious. We had an awesome waiter...Angel. Quite attentive and very much on point!
Food over priced, very bland. I ordered the lasagna, hoping it was a safe bet. Well, it was horrible. No flavor, and they used leftover bolognese sauce as the meat filling. Not a big fan of that - hoping for the traditional meat lasagna. If the menu indicated it would use that type of sauce, I would have opted for another dish. The dish was still bland, with very little spices and no flavor. All main dishes did not come with any salad, which most restaurants offer (especially at their prices). Service was very slow, I never received a glass of wine I had asked to come with my meal. I do not recommend this restaurant. Go next door to Cheesecake Factory & get your money's worth (and better quality meal).
Brio keeps changing their menu and its getting smaller. We were looking forward to the bruschetta and pizza to find it was no longer on the menu. The food is good, however on the pricey side. Service was fine.
We had a table for 7, including our 9 year old granddaughters. Everyone left satisfied and happy.
The meal I ordered, Linguine with shrimp and lobster, had lots of shrimp, but very little lobster. I can understand that because of the price of lobster. However, the lobster in the dish consisted of small, shredded pieces. If that is what Brio will put in that dish, they should just leave it out, and call it Linguine with shrimp.
Food was decent but the service was par level.
Wished they had more variety on the menu.
This was a New Year's reservation for dinner. There was no special holiday menu. The chopped salad was soggy. The pasta sauce was underwhelming with very little grilled chicken. The calamari consisted of small pieces that looked like they were the leftovers! We have always enjoyed Brio. What happened?
There’s no more shrimp Mediterranean... so sad. Overall service was good!
I have not been to Brio in a few years and the quality of the menu and food has greatly gone down. I was very disappointed as the quality and portions was extremely below the restaurant a few years ago
If you're at the mall, and you want a bite to eat but don't want fast food - then Brio is a good option. Is it masterful cuisine? No it's not. I would say it is a step above Applebees and probably about equal to the Cheesecake factory. You can get decent food and a decent cocktail although I think the wine is over priced for sure.
To all Diners.....
All of the above categories I have checked are authentic to this restaurant experience!!!
Excellent on all counts, except for one of the most important deal breakers when you own, operate or manage an Italian restaurant, you must always have BREAD available!!! No matter the cost.....
BREAD is essential!!! Never run out of "BREAD"..... otherwise you must RUN OUT and buy BREAD!
Backed by a five-star review, we definitely loved those flatbreads that were served with our apps!!!
I would recommend Brio's to all patrons interested in a great food experience!
Thank you! Renee *
The menu was changed recently and they no longer have veal, bruschetta, or many other items we use to go there for. We had a reservation and got there on time. However, 4 other tables came in after us and were seated before us. We had to wait 20+ minutes more. We may not be back for a while.
My husband and went to Brio Grill in Danbury for a date night. We made a reservation based on prior reviews. We were seated within 5 minutes of arriving. Our server was really nice and very helpful. She went through the specials and got our drink orders. The food was fabulous. I ordered the calamari appetizer and the shrimp capri. The seafood was cooked to perfection. My husband had the Bolognese which was so good. Even though the restaurant was busy, our server was attentive and friendly. We will be coming back again to Brio.
