BRIO Tuscan Grille - Austin - Arboretum
I was looking for a quick bite while traveling to Austin. Dressed casually I felt comfortable in the restaurant while enjoying a fantastic meal with excellent service.
This was a dud for us. The service was extremely slow despite being practically empty. It took over 10 minutes for our waiter to greet us or take our drink order. It took another 10 minutes to revive our drinks.
My salad arrived incorrectly prepared and my dinner was lukewarm and bland.
The ambiance and decor is outdated and it felt really “old.”
Not a favorite. Blah.
Shrimp and eggplant appetizer is great entre. Yummy
Everything went well. Just amazing.wish I could afford to go more regularly, but the portions are so generous.
1. Had a party of 10-reservations were made last week, showed up and our table wasn't set up yet. The hostess went around cleaning all the bar tables (empty) before finishing setting us up.
2. Ordered drinks at the bar, bartender was rude, not helpful and uninterested-(we spend $90 for three 9oz wine and 3 beer)
3. Took our server 20 minutes to take our appetizer order.
4. Drinks were ordered-never came (he forgot)
5. Forty minutes went by between finishing our appetizers and still waiting for him to come back to take our dinner orders. (someone went over to the servers area to let him know....-she was told to "hang on") I went to let the hostess know...she said they were short staffed. There was at least 4 servers (incl our guy) hovering around the server computer for excessive periods of time, and the restaurant was over 3/4 empty...
6. The finished appetizers remained on our table that I finally bused our table my self and removed the dirty plates, dishes and empty glasses.
7. One dinner wasn't put in and came out 10 minutes after everyone else (he ordered the same as another fellow).
8. I inquired about our bar bill and the bartender came over herself to let me know that I was wrong, and 9oz pours weren't on happy hour. I am ok being "wrong" and will own it, but to not be informed of this in the first place and then getting a dressing down from her because of it...
10. We spent a lot of money on Monday night-a lot-I expect better.
My dish (Chicken Pesto Pasta) was dry - both the chicken and the pasta. Pasta appeared as though it had long been sitting before being served.
The kitchen got very backed up but the hosts at the front didn’t tell us on what happened. We had a reservation for 5:00pm and we didn’t sit until 6 and that wasn’t bad but other people who were walk ins sat down before us. I think the food wasn’t great but it was ok.
Mothers day 2019. Had a reservation and they were not seating anyone. Waited 15 minutes past reservation time and walked into the dining room and counted 15 empty tables. Asked status and was seated. Waiter greeted us and told us that they had goofed with the schedule and the chef was running 30 minutes behind. Never brought out our appetizer. Never refilled waters. Ugh it was bad.
We've had better experiences in the past but today we were all disappointed. The calamari we ordered was served with lots of filler banana peppers so we had to fish for the calamari. The beef carpaccio was excellent but the rest of the dishes were bland. All of the pasta sauces were a bit watery and without flavor. The red fish on the other hand was salty and had way too much pepper.
It was terrible. We waited forever and food was not prepared well at all. Carbanara was watered down and my wife’s salmon was sitting in the window too long.
We went out for a date night/Mother’s Day dinner for me. I’ve been interested in going since it opened and I’m so glad we did! We were those people that went an hour before closing due to parenting but everyone was wonderfully kind to us and we never felt rushed. We chose the mid range bottle of Chianti. It was wonderful. Soft and smooth with a nice mouth feel and no bitterness at all. Then had calamari and caprese for appetizers. The calamari was cooked perfectly. A little crunch outside and not chewy at all! Hubby had the fish special, which was cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious, and the mashed potatoes were so perfectly creamy. I had the chicken soup and chicken rigatoni. The soup is what I want when I’m sick now, it’s that good. So simple but beautifully done. And the rigatoni was a fantastic classic pasta dish, with lots of soft yummy chicken and a delicious sauce! We ended with the lemon ricotta cheesecake, which we brought home but I loved! It’s rich, so be sure to share, but it is delicious! And the texture from the ricotta is so interesting in the mouth. We brought home the lobster ravioli for our sister who watched the kid, and she said even though it wasn’t hot anymore it was still delicious. I want to try it next time!
Enjoyed the food and service-a little loud but good
Our family of three made a reservation for a Saturday evening. We were promptly seated upon arrival. The food was very good and freshly prepared. The service was mediocre probably because our waiter was also servicing a table of about 20 people near us in addition to other smaller tables. It was my third visit to this Brio location. I'd recommend this restaurant.
Reservation seemed pointless. The hostess wasn’t very friendly and we still waited until everyone else in line was sat. Took quite some time for our waitress (who was slow the bartender) to even acknowledge us. I don’t mind waiting if someone at least recognizes your presence.
Very good food. Excellent service for our party of 10, even on a crowded Saturday evening. It's a big place and can get a bit loud due to the sheer number of people dining there but it has a great atmosphere.
The double cut lamb chops were excellent. All the meals were great. Took a little too long to get bread and wine.
We need to come here more often instead of just special occasions!
The appetizers were bad - we ordered calamari and it had more yellow peppers than calamari- menu never mentioned the yellow peppers and there was hardly any calamari. Also there were only 4 tables occupied counting us and when we ordered our drinks 2 of us did not get our drink because we were told they ran out of lemonade. The food came out looking like it was done hours ago and waiting in the warmer for a while before we got it . I even complained about the appetizers but nothing was done about it. Very disappointed
The food was a bit off today compared to the usual high standards that we expect from BRIO. The first calamari appetizer was burned and our waiter sent it back before bringing it to the table. Unfortunately the second try was severely undercooked and we sent it back and had it taken off the bill. Entrees were better but still a bit disappointing: the scrambled eggs on one plate were burned and the salmon on another was unusually dry. The kitchen seemed to be overwhelmed by the Easter crowd.
Very loud in restaurant... no fabric or rugs to absorb noise. We went easter so it was busy. Didn’t get our drinks until half way through our meal and by the time we got the extra sauce on the side we requested, we were already done eating.
It was all good except freezing in there.
It was Easter Sunday, my neighbor and I went for brunch. Our waiter at brio arboretum was professional, efficient, courteous, quick, made our experience more pleasant than we could imagine. He deserved a great tip. The food was fabulous, priced fair. Ambionse was wonderful.
What we would change. Hmmm. The music that came later didn’t fit the ambience. Organ that is was a fantastic time.
Service was great. Food was ok. And really small portions.
Good restaurant, nice for family and friends dinner. Good ambient and service above the average.
My food was horrible as the cook could not get a medium lamb chops without burn it all.
Service was very, very slow and couldn’t be motivated to improve
Nice place for lunch meetings for groups of 8 or less. Nice italian food selection and good service.
I hosted an intimate bridal brunch and although it was stormy outside, we had a lovely time inside. The restaurant wasn’t crowded so it was nice and quiet. Hats off to our server, Matthew, who was EXCELLENT!
For the price I would have expected better service and presentation. They did not have any of the desert options I wanted.
We really enjoyed the food and service. We were seated in a booth near the bar area and the noise level was so high we had trouble hearing each other. I would recommend requesting seating far away from the bar area
Good food. Even though it as not crowded we had to ask for more water but that is really not a big deal.
The website food looks better than in the actual restaurant. It seems as though they need new recipes and someone to come in and relaunch the restaurant with a lot of changes. Outdated
The service was good and the restuarant was quiet enough to have a conversation. The food was hit or miss. My mushroom ravioli was disappointing. The pasta was good, but all I could taste of the filling was salt. My wife's seafood pasta was bland. The seafood was good but the noodles had no seasoning at all. Salmon was good. Overall, not worth the price and we will not return.
The patio seating was perfect for a spring time evening and happy hour eats were tasty too. Our wait person was new (first time on the floor) and I'm sure will improve with time. A farewell for family going back to Cologne for business and a great time had by all. Can't wait to return for dinner.
A group of us went for lunch. The variety of dishes we ordered we're all very good and prepared well. The service was fine.
The only thing that we all complained about was that the music was too loud, and with the acoustics as they are, made it harder than normal to talk to one another in a normal voice. But I don't think that will be a major deterrent to keep us from coming back.
The outside dining is wonderful but the menu change was unfortunate. Some of the dishes that gave this restaurant a reason to return were gone. The bruschetta was no longer available as well as some of the lighter dishes & wonderful sides.
My grandparents came in town and love italian food, so we picked Brio and loved it!
My friend’s birthday lunch. Everything was great, as usual
Things started off on a bad note. After reserving a table for eight two weeks prior, we arrived to find they didn’t have a table ready for us. This was early dining, as we had tickets to a 7:30 concert. So after arriving promptly at 5:15, it was ten minutes before we were seated. There was another party on the patio of at least twenty, so I assume this had taken their attention from us. Our waiter was as attentive as he could be, the food was good, and everyone left satisfied.
We made reservations for 8:15, arrived at 8:10 and were sat at 8:46. The reservation was pointless and useless. They sat us in order of when we arrived and people were sat ahead of us that did not have reservations.
Waitresses did a poor job, treat us like we were not important for her.
