    Underwhelming experience. Food was fine but certainly a lot better can be found at other restaurants, local and chain. Our server needed a lot of training! And someone who was likely a manager wasn't engaging either. Ordered a Brio Martini which was nothing more than Grey Goose w/blue cheese stuffed olives, server brought the martini and handed me the skewer with the two olives. Should have known at this point. Ordered a "side" of gnocchi for the table, was brought as appetizer with the garlic knots which was fine but server didn't ask and I had expected it as a side dish however did NOT bring a serving spoon. Eventually asked the expediter for a serving spoon for the gnocchi which was still untouched when he brought our entrees (server had not revisited the table after dropping off cocktails) and didn't get a spoon from the expediter. Finally server revisited the table and when I asked for a serving spoon he asked if we had asked him for one....whaaaat? Does that matter? When I mentioned the gnocchi had just been sitting while we waited for a serving spoon he did ask if we would like it re-made. By this point I was getting grumpy, said yes to having the gnocchi remade, the man I suspect was a manager, delivered the re-made gnocchi to the table without one word. Not 100% sure it was actually fresh or not. On the garlic knots...server did point out they used to provide bread for free but now a $4.50 charge...ordered the garlic knots anyway, they were also okay...didn't expect a thick layer of cheese that congealed quickly. The entire experience failed to meet expectations for dining out at a restaurant with entrees ranging from $30 on up. Far better experiences and choices in the area and across Sarasota.

From the confusion over the martini and serving utensils, to the lack of attentiveness and engagement from both the server and manager, your frustrations are entirely valid.     Always clean with good food, prices are getting out of hand and at these prices we have several other options for dining

    We have eaten lunch many times at Brio. But now they have changed things. The lunch combinations which were wonderful are gone. Their new deal is a set price menu with one item for your lunch And bread for the table is a separate item for a charge. The cup of soup is expensive but is a generous portion and delicious.

    The Salmon Fresco never disappoints! The white heavy sangria is so refreshing. And the spinach artichoke dip is some of the best we’ve had.
