The food was good but in daylight this bar needs to tKe care of the mold and stains and unsightly mess that is in the back area of the restaurant if they want to continue hosting meals during the day.
Delicious food. Awesome drinks. Vintage atmosphere. Great place!
The food and service were great! Known more as a drinking spot on weekends, but great food during the week!
We had a nice late lunch at this place. The burger was very good and the beer cold. I would gladly return to this place.
Wonderful place , great food amazing service
The food was horrible. My daughter found a black slick hair in her egg sandwich. We informed the waiter in a polite manner. They did remove the item from our bill but I really thought they should have compensated us for the meal as I only had an egg white frittata. That was a shame and since my daughter works in hospitality here in NYC she is going to tell her friends. I may report the restaurant to the department of health as the cooks were not wearing head covering. My daughter stated it is a requirement.
I really enjoyed my breakfast there, great location, great old building, will return again.
Unfortunately, the mediocre service and only 'okay' food caused me to rate this restaurant as a place we will not try again.
My chicken was rubbery and tasted as if it had been sitting out and turned tuff.
Both my toast and husband's French toast had pieces of spinach attached, leading us to believe that the food was all cooked nearby other things and not leaving us with a great feeling of cleanliness or order.
The Fish & Chips was a little soggy (we're from Texas so we're used to everything being deep fried and crispy), but errrrrmegerrd, the Pimento Cheese was fabulous!!! Great selection of local beer and a knowledgeable staff!
Loved the food, our table and the service. However, there was a lively party right behind us and they constantly left the side door open to smoke, which left us freezing throughout dinner. Only downfall.
We (4girls)visit From Dublin,Ireland once or twice a year and we visit Brinkleys each time for either Brunch,Lunch or early evening sharing plates and always bottles of prosecco! Our trips wouldn't be the same. Love the location, ambience, food, drinks and service! Look forward to returning again and again.
Service from Regan was quick and attentive. Burgers were very tasty and the waffle chips great. Beer list is ok and could use some decent IPAs. In and out in 60 mins and a nice venue for a good time!
Very loud ~ hard to carry on a diner conversation.
I enjoyed my burger but I found the staff to be very passive.
The food was amazing. Everyone loved what they ate! Definitely would go back!
Slow service and food was just ok. Likely will not return.
It was mediocre. Not terrible, but not particularly great. A little pricey for what you get. Good beer list though. Go for a drink and some french fries, but the dinner entrees aren't stellar.
Great food that came quick.
Had an early dinner with my wife and daughter here on a Saturday. Seated immediately. A little bohemian spot in a convenient location. Food was very good although the Hanger Steak special mentioned on Open Table menu is not really on the menu, they made it for us anyway. A pretty good drink menu although we weren't drinking. Service was friendly, but a little disjointed. Cheesecake dessert was unusual and absolutely incredible!
Meal was OK. Nothing special, not that cheap either.
My hubby and I went there for brunch. Drinks and our burgers were great! Service is alright. The ambience has an old rustic feel. Might be good for happy hour
I came here with a group 0f 10 at 8:30PM on a Monday night. Seating was comfortable, the place was not too crowded or noisy. The value and quality of the food was good. The service was good too. Friendly staff and waiters. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a casual bite in a cool area.
Stellar bar food with a bar to match. Super impressed by the great service and knowledge of the local brews ! You MUST try the duck fat fries and fried pickles. The small bites are the way to go but I would 100% come back here just to enjoy the bar.
The pimento cheese appetizer was satisfying, while the fried chicken biscuit was savory and filling. Particularly happy that on a busy Friday night we could be seated right away, with plenty of space so we didn't feel cramped around others. Staff were friendly and fast.
I ordered the French toast with a side of the vegetarian bacon. I make this bacon at home all the time so I know that it actually needs to be cooked in a pan and not microwaved. It should be crispy and brown. Needless to say when my bacon came out it wasn't cooked. I sent it back to be cooked more and again it wasn't cooked. In addition, I had to ask for syrup for my French toast. When I was done with the small bit that I was given I had to ask again for more. The only good thing about my brunch was the mimosa that had pear purée.
We really enjoyed our food. Service was great. Server was nice and friendly.
The food here was fantastic - everything on the menu looked great, it was hard to decide what to get! The staff was super friendly and the restaurant had a great casual vibe to it. I would go again - definitely.
We shared Mac & Cheese and Duck Fat Fries to start. Mac was delicious - fries were pretty good. California Burger and Gilled Chicken Salad were yummy as was Chicken & Avocado sandwich. Lobster grilled cheese came on white bread which wasn't too exciting. Server was kind enough to charge my hubby's phone which had died. Great selection of local beers on tap too.
This restaurant was amazing! I went with a group of friends and everyone loved it! The drinks are amazing (blood orange margarita) and the pimento cheese burger is to die for. We will definitely be going back!
Naomi's spot. Will make it a regular.
We love Brinkleys! This was our first time eating here and it was delicous. Great for Brunch and is much quieter than the night scene.
Great surprise to find a less than crowded atmosphere with a helpful and friendly staff on a Saturday afternoon. Local offerings are a plus for me, and the selection was good though not expansive. Food was well received and recommendations were great.
I wanted to love this place so much more. The food was ok, not bad, but not amazing. I loved the ambience and crowd though. I would definitely go back for drinks.
Hostess took about 5 minutes to greet and seat us, they were not busy. Then the waitress took about 10 minutes to come over to the table and then took our food order but not the drink order. We chose to cancel the order and leave after she was not friendly and actually seemed mad at us. Too many other nice restaurants to choose from in NYC.
Good place for Sunday afternoon brunch. Food was good, and because we were on the early side (12:30 pm), the noise level was low so we could all actually have a conversation and hear each other talk!
More bar area than resturant - but comfortable, nice drinks. Burger and fries were delish.
The waitress was not attentive at all. We felt like we were being ignored. Although the food was good.
Sandwiches were good, not great. Drinks are awesome creations. We had fun. BUT for lunch, there was only 1 service person.
The service was woeful, the beer was warm, the sliders were so minuscule you would have to eat 8 servings of them to come close to a main meal. You would think the server would have suggested an additional meal choice for dinner. The mac and cheese was exceptionally bland. I would not recommend this place to anyone hoping for good service, good food, cold beer and/or value for money.
