   Reservation for Valentine’s Day was cancelled 2 hours before our reserved time. System glitch allowed reservations to be made, only to be caught and cancelled last minute.

   This was a last minute reservation for us. What a treat it was. They are expertly prepared and plated meals. You can tell the Chef and kitchen staff really care about what they serve. You can actually taste the flavors and not just salt like a lot of places do. So very pleased. We will be back.

   They were out of the frenched chicken which we found out only after wanting to order it, the fish of the day was still being prepared (at 7pm) so my date ordered the filet which had a very sweet sauce drizzled on it and the plate which really took away from the the nice cut of meat.

   So glad Brim House is open back again! This restaurant is such a hidden gem and an important restaurant for Toledo! Not just for the sake of attracting hotel business, but the menu is of innovative southern fare to the likes seen in Charleston or Asheville - something Toledo has not had ever to this level of execution. My wife & I were surprised by friends from Manhattan who wanted a new restaurant to try while in Toledo. We wanted to avoid the usual “restaurant rut” so we came back for dinner, remembering a great dinner we had at BH before COVID closed it up. What a cozy winter dinner! Great ambiance, excellent menu choices, and our server Connor was exceedingly attentive. The manager helped with a corkage issue and our friends who have the culinary world at their doorstep in NYC said their meals were one of the best they’ve had in awhile! The duck fat fries were addictively good - like a cubed napoleon! All meats were cooked perfectly and fall off the bone tender. Yes, it’s pricey but so worth it for some novel cuisine that Toledo really has not had within its restaurant scene. On one hand, I hope Renaissance Hotel marketing promotes BU better to spread the word and help this restaurant succeed long term. Jokingly one the other hand, we plan on coming back often & I don’t want it to be such a hard reservation to obtain! Brim House made a special reunion of friends even more memorable -thanks!

    Not great for a first date if you want to talk, (acoustics) but good food, good presentation, good service, but your going to pay for it.

    Overall, it was a very nice dining experience. Like always, we have eaten here multiple times but lastnight we were in shock when we received are bill , as my husband ordered the tomahawk steak knowing its pricey but didn't think it would be $ 175.00 pricey !! So that's are only complaint I feel it was way over priced! We will dine there again just not be ordering a tomahawk steak !

    Visited with my mom for Christmas Eve dinner and could not have had a better overall dining experience. Service, food, and ambiance were positively exceptional. Have already recommended to others and will definitely be back!

    There was a hiccup in service at first but Jordan made it right and the rest of the meal and service went flawlessly. It was one of the best meals you can get in the Toledo area and we will definitely be back.

    My wife and I just needed to get out of town for a night. We’d just had been going through 3 years of having a sick dog and had to put him to sleep. Those 3years were very stressful and I myself have just about 9 weeks ago tore my rotator cuff as well. It was nice to get away.

    The innovative, interesting and delicious food at the Brim House will definitely bring us back. Our hats off to the chef! The atmosphere is wonderful, the restaurant was clean and inviting. The two problems I had were: We visited on Christmas morning. From out of town, we logged on to Toledo websites to see what was open Christmas day. There was a link to the Christmas Brunch at the Renaissance Hotel. We quickly snapped up reservations, but upon arrival, there was no brunch. Just breakfast. The maitre d' thinks it may have been a corporate ad. The breakfast was delicious, and worth repeat visit, but still...a surprise. Second hitch in the giddy-up was there was only one single waitress for the entire restaurant. We get it. Help is hard to find, it's not the waitress's fault, the maitre d' tried to help, but bottom line, the atmosphere was tense as customers were straining to look for one waitress during our entire meal. She did a great job of trying to keep up, as did Katie the maitre d' and Liliana, her hostess, but it was way, way too much for her to handle. she was perspiring, stressed and was working as fast as she could. Brim House should have paid someone double or triple to show up to help, made a brunch instead of plated food or re-thought opening the restaurant at all, in my opinion. Bottom Line: I will go back--no, I look FORWARD to going back.

    The service was very good despite being short staffed. Our waitress apologized and was helpful. We were in no hurry so we relaxed and enjoyed the view. I had the Toledo hash and eggs which was terrible. Big chunks of smoked sausage, few potatoes, greasy and did not resemble hash at all. Another guest had bananas foster pancakes which she felt were excessively sweet. Husband had scrambled eggs, sausage and toast were average. We had been to Brim House in the past for brunch which was excellent so we have to admit that this was disappointing. Would not recommend if food remained the same.

    We celebrated our 4 year anniversary Christmas Eve and it was beautiful and delicious and very special. Our service was so pleasant and sweet and they gave us the most gorgeous Crème brûlée complimentary for celebrating with them. Everything was perfect and our evening was extra special thanks to the whole Brim House Team and we are so grateful.

    This was our second time staying at the Hotel and going to the restaurant in the days leading up to Christmas. The first time we went the food and service were not good at all. The current menu is somewhat limit, but our food and service were both excellent. We had a very intimate table at the back with a river view and overall really enjoyed the experience.

    The service in was top notch. Very informative about menu and suggestions were spot on. Drinks were exceptional, with a unique flare. Definitely would recommend for drinks and dinner.

    I was not seated until about 45 minutes after my scheduled reservation time. Took about 20 minutes to get a cocktail from the bar. The server was not aware that they were assigned to our table. Food was otherwise good and staff was very kind and apologetic. I just hope this experience was a one time thing.

    Went for a special, leisurely meal and that’s what we got. Going at 5 pm we were the only table for a good part of our meal. No let downs on any of the food, very attentive service. Love the ambiance

    I took my husband here for his 60th. Birthday dinner, the food was not so good unfortunately. The menu looked so appetizing. His lamb was tuff, the smoked collards were very very oily, which made my stomach turn later. Service was very good and the environment was awesome! Maybe we didn't order the right things, so I will give it another try later though, still can't get that oily taste outta my head. I did state that to our server, he apologized, also ordered a green tomato appetizer, and it was ripe red tomatoes, which the servers reply was, I guess they didn't get their order in for green tomatoes. Really??
