   Our 2nd visit here and disappointing this time. Ambience and service was fine but there were a number of items that let the venue down - First to come were the drinks. One of the mocktails was great, presented in a stemmed glass, with excellent detail on the foam. Mine however, was a tumbler of ice with some flavouring poured over. We next shared an entree of the Calimari, which had great presentation, flavour & crunch. However, no serving cuttlery was provided. When the mains arrived, both of us who ordered the duck looked at each other. The "breast" portion size was mean, bordering on embarrassing (1 small slice). Can't remember having ever been offered such a small serving when ordering duck. Also, the Barberry "paste" was too much and way over-sweetened. As a top price main, this dish is simply overpriced. The steak ordered was perfectly cooked and well presented. The brussel sprout side we shared, was the standout dish of the night. However, once again, no serving cuttlery was provided. Also, a side or sides is definitely required, as the mains do not include any real vegetable serve on the plate. At the beginning of the night, we had chosen sparkling water for the table. The first bottle was correct, but then our glasses were topped up with still for the rest of the night. I realise that some of these items may seem small for the overall experience, but this is a top price restaurant and needs to achieve a higher standard.

   Scallops and crab entre were amazing. Duck main was awesom but the pork main was way overcooked and dry. The broccolini was delecious! We had a bottle of wine that was reasonably priced and 2 cocktails were fantastic.

   The degustation menu excels, and matched wine pairing are spot on. It is great to go out and not have to stress about dinner choice, but instead give yourself over to the expertise of the chefs and sommelier who have curated a wonderful dining experience.

   Must say I was very disappointed with the service especially considering you rate a five star restaurant and not once did a waiter pour our wine. Food waiters were very nice and helpful but when you are paying top dollar expect top service.

   Fantastic restaurant! We have been to quite a few fancy places to eat in Townsville over the years, Bridgewater was up there with the best of them. I took my wife there for her 70th birthday where we had the 5 course degustation menu, it was fabulous. The wine pairing was great and theservice was very good too. For a more high end restaurant the prices were very reasonable also. Top marks to all the staff at Bridgewater, we will be back. Highly recommend. Matt

    Probably the best restaurant we have been to in Townsville! Great staff, great food, beautiful view, not too badly priced for what you get.
