Bridges Wine Bar
Sometimes one good idea leads to another. Such is the case with Bridges. With the success of Music on the Square, we began imagining what could happen next. The location next door (19 North Indiana) was up for sale, so we bought it and began thinking of what would be complementary. We started imagining Bridges as a wine bar offering interesting wines to Greencastle. But we soon added a wood burning pizza oven from Italy and more of a restaurant evolved. Ultimately, the idea of Bridges Wine Bar was born. The basement has become a private dining room called The Cellar, an open terrace area on top of the building, which will be used in nice weather, called The Rooftop, and there will be three fully furnished rental apartments which we call The Lofts at Bridges.
We hope you will like our addition to the Square of Greencastle.
I haven’t ever had a negative experience. Such a great place!
I love the atmosphere at this restaurant! I will definitely go back.
Their food is always excellent but at times its a tad overpriced compared to portions.
Great food and wine—we ordered calamari, oyster and wine on tap.
Another wonderful date night at Bridges! We love everything about it. And we got to hear our favorite band that was playing in the attached Music on the Square. Perfect evening!
Food was great, as always. They have the best bar around. The drinks are fabulous
A Great Selection!
After hearing from friends how wonderful Bridges Wine Bar was, my husband and I drove to Greencastle. The ambiance is outstanding. The wine selection is wonderful. My husband had the cauliflower soup; I had the wedge salad. Both were good. Both of us had the bolognese which was delicious and we would order again.
I definitely want to return because I want to try their pizza. They looked wonderful!!
Have enjoyed dessert/drinks after attending performances at DePauw School of Music on many occasions the past 2 years, this was our first time with a larger group for pre-theater dinner. We LOVED the ambiance of the wine cellar and the service and dinner/wine menu was fabulous! Have already made our next reservation to bring a large group for pre-recital dinner on April 10th!
Everything was outstanding! Jennifer provided exceptional service, food was delicious and the ambiance was similar to big city dining. We loved it! Don’t miss the grilled salad and the pizza!
I wanted to take my friend who had never been to Bridges there so I made reservations earlier in the week. We arrived 5 minutes earlier than the stated time. The hostess said our table wasn't available (she indicated a table in the main dining room) and it would be closer to 7:15. It was more like 7:30 when she did return and asked if we would be okay with a table downstairs. We agreed. It was actually quieter there, a positive, but certainly a bit more casual ambience than expected. I distinctly remember ordering the Chicken Marsala for my friend and I to share because, in truth, I didn't even notice there was another chicken dinner. The dinner was served but was the other chicken dinner---after more than a few minutes the waitress went to the table next to us. I got her attention as she was leaving that table and it became apparent that for some reason, she thought I had ordered the dinner served, for which I still don't know its name. However, she immediately did the proper thing, apologized and said she would get me the Marsala as quickly as they could make it. It was an honest mistake and I appreciated the way she handled it all. You have a well-trained staff. We did enjoy the Chicken Marsala and the dessert was quite yummy.
Had a reservation and was sat in the new dining area. Was like eating in a cafeteria. Service was fine, food good but ambiance was terrible.
Sat at the bar. It was valentine. Food was really good although the fries were not as crisp and seasoned as I had hoped.
Greencastle has several outstanding restaurants, but Bridges is my husband's favorite. He loves the ambiance, the Wise Guy pizza, and their wine selection. It doesn't matter if we're in the cellar, the main floor , or the rooftop. The experience is always wonderful!
My fiancé and her two kids, 12 and 16, had a very memorable evening. Our waitress, Jennifer was very punctual and kind. We are very selective keto diners and do wish there would have been a few low carb vegetables to choose from. The wedge salad was excellent. We will definitely be back!
We had a wonderful time! As always the food was excellent, and Samantha our waitress was not only vet knowledgeable but a pleasure.
Always a great experience!
Bridges doesn’t disappoint. Our favorite restaurant in the Greencastle area. I would recommend reservations and anticipating a crowd, but service is always greet despite crowds.
Visiting friends while in town, Dinner was good but a bit drug out since our server only came around every 20-30 mins. Hard to find the host stand to check in. No where near the door you come in. Pizza was Delicious but desserts could be better. Spent 75.00 without any alcohol just med. pizza, dessert and two iced teas. Not a place I would drive out here from Carmel just for.
Absolutely fantastic New Year's Eve dinner at Bridges! Everything they serve is delicious.
We enjoyed the special New Years Eve menu! We are never disappointed!!
Wonderful Food and Wine selection, one of our favorite spots to go.
Amazing as always! Our server was attentative but not overbearing. Our meatball appetizer was delicious. My husband enjoyed his pasta dish, and my pizza was cooked perfectly. Bridges never disappoints!
Great night again, great service!!!!!
Bridges is one of our favorite restaurants to go to. We are always pleased with the food and the service.
So worth the trip to Greencastle!! We enjoyed the unique Fall Salad (baked acorn squash topped with arugula in a delicious vinaigrette; Funghi pizza and the spaghetti (cacao e pepe) - best we’ve ever tasted. (We loved it so much we took an order home!!)
Always fantastic. We love all of the starters. Had the squid ink pasta and absolutely loved it. Husband had the steak that was on the menu and it was fabulous. Thank you!
Loved the server! Very attentive, knowledgable and conversational. The food was lovely, as it always is.
Great restaurant. Suggest you have more sides for entrees, such as vegetables...
But 100% will be back.
We are always happy to eat at Bridges whenever we are in the area. The food is consistently excellent and the service is always friendly and timed perfectly. We especially enjoyed the kale salad, the spaghettini and the macaroni and cheese (to die for!) on our most recent visit. We will definitely be back and will look forward to it!
Always enjoy our getaway to Bridges!
Date With husband - we had the best waitress!
Being familiar with Bridges, we had difficulty finding the "correct" front door. Hostess told us that complaints about drafts required them to move it to side door. We were taken downstairs to the cellar for our table. I thought that it was for parties, etc. We were seated next to a large group celebrating a birthday...very loud. Noise seemed to bounce off the concrete floors, making it difficult to have conversation at our table. The lighting was quite dim so the candle at the table was a must have. Food was good, and our server was very personable. I will go back, but definitely am not dining in the cellar!
Food options are somewhat unique as the menu changes frequently. Everyone we have taken there enjoys the food and service has always been good. I enjoy going down to the cellar on weekends because it is quieter and a more intimate setting. Soups that I have tasted have been outstanding. Wines are good but expensive. Brick oven pizzas to share for two are the best value; they are very thin crust. Menu options are very limited, but what they serve is always very good. A non pizza entree, with soup, wine and dessert gets very expensive (last bill with 20% tip was $165 for two).
Great service, ambiance and even better food!!
James was great!
Very nice ambience but poor customer service. I ordered puttanesca, which is a traditional Italian dish with black olives and capers, so didn’t think to read ingredients because I make it all the time. The dish that came was all onions and sausage! When I asked the server why they put meat in a traditional vegetarian dish, she had no clue. I sent the dish back and just asked for a salad. To my surprise, when the bill came, I was charged for both! In all my years of working in the restaurant business, I never charged a customer for a meal they did not eat. Needless to say, I will not be returning.
I eat here once a week and the food is consistently high quality with polite and courteous staff and management. I enjoy fine dining across the US and abroad, I am thankful that within minutes of my house I can dine at a restaurant that is as enjoyable as any I have ever dined.
Great service and the food was delicious
