Bridges Wine Bar
Sometimes one good idea leads to another. Such is the case with Bridges. With the success of Music on the Square, we began imagining what could happen next. The location next door (19 North Indiana) was up for sale, so we bought it and began thinking of what would be complementary. We started imagining Bridges as a wine bar offering interesting wines to Greencastle. But we soon added a wood burning pizza oven from Italy and more of a restaurant evolved. Ultimately, the idea of Bridges Wine Bar was born. The basement has become a private dining room called The Cellar, an open terrace area on top of the building, which will be used in nice weather, called The Rooftop, and there will be three fully furnished rental apartments which we call The Lofts at Bridges.
We hope you will like our addition to the Square of Greencastle.
After hearing of Bridges affiliation with culinary legends The James Beard Foundation, I knew this was a must experience. We dined at Bridges for my partners birthday with my parents and we were all impressed by the crafted cocktails (The Smokey Negroni was superb) and the delicious food that had us all but speechless besides the 'Mmmm's" and occasional, "Omg you have to try this!" Our dessert was decorated with a candle for our celebration which was not solicited but very appreciated and the staff offered to take a family picture for us. To top it all off, Bridges atmosphere was pleasant, and the space is beautiful! We all gave 5 stars and agreed that we would definitely make the over 1 hour drive from SoBro/Indianapolis to dine here again!
The best pizza I have ever eaten! Macaroni and cheese to dream about. Everything was superb! Great food and great service!
We always enjoy ourselves at Bridges. The food is always amazing.
We loved the NYE dinner at Bridges. The filet and whole bronzino were simply amazing. Chef Sal is so inventive and the entire staff is amazing.
It was a pleasure to spend New Year's Eve at Bridges with friends and we saw other friends dining there, too. Very enjoyable.
GREAT place, love the staff and manager is always so friendly!!
Great place to enjoy a family evening and great food!
Awesome food, very attentive wait staff, and perfect atmosphere.
We can’t get enough of Bridges.
Great atmosphere and food. Would have liked a bigger table to handle appetizers and main dish.
Consistently excellent food and service. Noise level varies according to the source of clientele and events on campus drawing crowds into town.
Bridges is the best. Period. If you live in Indianapolis, it’s worth the drive to Greencastle.
I took my girlfriend here for a romantic dinner and was very pleased. The restaurant is beautiful and has great food. Overall I was very impressed.
We had family in from all over. They took our reservation for 10 without a blink. Ended up bringing 11 (3 small children). Food, beer and wine were excellent. Wine room downstairs was perfect for our group. Neat, new and clean. Prawns and polenta was fantastic. Pork osso was really really really good. The pork au jus was strong and flavorful. Grilled calamari was loved by the kids as it is served with almond butter and a berry paste (pb&j for them). Really tasted great and different. Katie was our server. We will be back. Fun place.
Good menu. Nice wine and beer options. Friendly, efficient staff.
Best place to eat anywhere west of Indianapolis. We found this place a few months ago, and now it's our favorite spot to eat. Great food, great prices, great staff. We love the menu. Perfect size that allows them to do every dish to perfection. If the truffle popcorn is not on the menu, ask for it anyway...you will not be disappointed!
Amazing as always!
We had a 7 pm reservation on a Saturday night. We had 8 people in our group. We were seated downstair, which is so much more quiet and comfortable for a larger group. We did order Malbec and lemonade, but both were out. Other than that, our experience was lovely!
Ate at Bridges prior to watching a musical. Great food and atmosphere. A little expensive but worth it
Great friendly service. Excellent house wine. Pizza and salads were top notch. We’ll be back.
Great food nice staff.
Food and service was excellent.
We celebrated our anniversary there but I wasn't overly impressed.
Everything from the time we walked in until we walked out was wonderful. The only discouraging thing was we set in the room with the band and it was so loud we could not hold a conversation.
Music was awesome and the food was amazing! Such a great atmosphere.
Shared meatballs and polenta as appetizer and then shared a plate of chicken marsala which were outstanding. The chef is going to James Beard in NY —invited to compete. I hear he’s working on a quail dish. Forget the quail – take your meatballs on polenta instead. Go with your strength and forget the fancy-schmancy bird which only the insecure and pretentious would order. Trust yourself ! Go with the meatballs!
A wonderful birthday celebration for out of town guests. These folks travel a lot and have experienced many excellent restaurants and they thought Bridges ranked one of the best they had dined at. We shared seven different small plates and salads, 2 main dishes, several great bottles of wine and 3 desserts. Every one was exceptionally good.
Great restaurant. Excellent food and friendly service. Our server recommended a dessert and it was delicious. Definitely recommend
Wish we lived closer so we could enjoy more often. Loved the decor!! food too.
We love going to Bridges when visiting our student at DePauw University. Awesome atmosphere and delicious, fresh ingredients used in their unique dishes. Would highly recommend a visit to the rooftop bar at sunset...beautiful!
It doesn’t get better than Bridges! The staff and food are exceptional.
We love Bridges! It is always a fantastic experience!
As always, a great meal and amazing service at Bridges!
We enjoyed a wonderful meal with great friends.
Going to Bridges is always a treat. Our last visit brought us, again, new menu choices and some already tried favorites. The problem was deciding what to have. The food was incredibly unique and wonderful!! The question now is, what day this week can we get back there?
Great find, even having to drive 35 minutes. Server Jennifer was amazing. We were on a date night with no kids and told her we wanted a slow, easy going meal. We took time to order each course individually- yet the food still came out quickly. I loved the wine selection and the amazing bacon wrapped shrimp pizza. The calamari was best I’ve ever had - light and amazingly tender. I look forward to returning to experience the rooftop.
We love this venue for wine and food choices not found in other places! The cellar is quieter for a group of 6 or more. The rooftop is great weather permitting, although menu is more limited.
This is the second time we've eaten here and it's fantastic. Hard to believe, when you're sitting in there, that you're in Greencastle. It has the urban ambience that we miss. Food and service are top drawer.
Wonderful food! Bridges is a tremendous boost to the food scene in our town as evidenced by the need for reservations almost all the time for dinner. Lunch is new and less-crowded, but I think that will soon change. My only regret is the noise level. It was so loud on my last visit that there was a mix-up on the order because the server and I were not really able to hear each other.
Amazing! We will absolutely be back. Highly recommend!!
