Bridges Wine Bar
Sometimes one good idea leads to another. Such is the case with Bridges. With the success of Music on the Square, we began imagining what could happen next. The location next door (19 North Indiana) was up for sale, so we bought it and began thinking of what would be complementary. We started imagining Bridges as a wine bar offering interesting wines to Greencastle. But we soon added a wood burning pizza oven from Italy and more of a restaurant evolved. Ultimately, the idea of Bridges Wine Bar was born. The basement has become a private dining room called The Cellar, an open terrace area on top of the building, which will be used in nice weather, called The Rooftop, and there will be three fully furnished rental apartments which we call The Lofts at Bridges.
We hope you will like our addition to the Square of Greencastle.
Great food, great service, and wonderful atmosphere!
Excellent food and atmosphere. We had a reservation and our table was ready within 5 minutes from arrival time. The service was great and the food was amazing. Live music was nice too. Overall great experience!
We sat at the bar because there was a band playing next door which made the place louder than normal. Ordered the mussels (great with nice kick) to share and two small plates (both very good). Nice bottle of wine. We were going to get a Rose on tap but it was not chilled enough--this is the second time the white/rose tap wine chiller wasn't keeping up. Otherwise, we were very pleased.
We have eaten here on several occasions and loved it, but tonight we were seated in front of a live band in a new room they opened up. The ambience here is special, but tonight it was so loud we could not talk, and the Bridges atmosphere that we love was completely absent. The food and service were excellent as always, but due to the extremely loud band we had a terrible experience. We will think twice before returning here if this is the direction the restaurant is headed! Hate to see this great restaurant make these unnecessary and negative changes.
Wonderful dynamic menu. Always anxious to see what’s new! Charcuterie plate is amazing. I love the bacon jam!
The tuna tartare, oysters and raviolo were excellent additions to the menu, and the live music was a wonderful treat. Greencastle has the hottest restaurant in Indiana.
Despite multiple apologies by our server, it took 2 hours to receive our meal. For our first visit after multiple recommendations, it was very disappointing. The restaurant credited us for the food, but it will make it tough to want to rush back and try them again.
Our group had a wonderful and enjoyable evening! Having the additional space and listening to the band was a great experience.
Worth the drive, Bridges delivers outstanding drinks and the best pizza in the state. The atmosphere is trendy, comfortable and friendly.
Perfect place for. Valentines Day! Wonderful service and great food! My favorite restaurant for sure!
It wasn’t a normal night at Bridges but pizza was good!
Always a great atmosphere with fabulous food and spirits!
Very good food and service. I have 0 complaints whatsoever.
Great food, great value. Same quality every time we go there!
Loved it. The service was terrific, the atmosphere is cozy and comfortable. The food was so good. I would go back in a minute and bring my friends. We had such a great meal.
Two different restaurant areas in the winter. We had eaten in the wine cellar on a previous visit. It was elegant and low noise level. This time, we were on the main floor. The bar and gorgeous copper pizza oven are on this level. Happy buzz of noise and yummy food. We were allowed to take our time and savor every moment.
Would have gave 5 stars on food but the appetizer that we ordered was not what I would have called it, but the steaks we had and salad were absolutely worthy of 5 stars
We love Bridges! This is a big city dining experience in a small town. What could be better? The food and service were excellent and I recommend the meatball appetizer to start.
Have eaten at Bridges with friends approximately 10 times and it has been consistently good. Lovely decor, attentive service, excellent pizza and wine. Pastas and salads are fine. Don't bother with the desserts.
Staff is incredible and food is amazing!
This was our first time having dinner at Bridges. It will not be our last. Our server Melissa was terrific, as were the pizza, spaghettini, desserts, wine and beer. This restaurant is a great addition to Greencastle. Our only complaint is that the tables were too close together, and because our table was against the wall on one side and had a walkway used by servers and customers on the other side, we were constantly getting bumped by people going by. The restaurant also got very noisy as it filled up.
We stopped here after dropping my son off at DePauw. The fried brussel sprouts might be my new favorite dish! All of us enjoyed our food!
Food is outstanding. We drive 1 hour one way once a month! Quality with everything made in house makes the difference. From pizza to authentic pasta dishes, this is a must try! If given the chance in summer, try sitting on rooftop uber the stars!
A friend was back in town and very much missed Bridges. Thank you for the excellent service, especially during this snowy, cold weekend.
It was awesome!
After hearing of Bridges affiliation with culinary legends The James Beard Foundation, I knew this was a must experience. We dined at Bridges for my partners birthday with my parents and we were all impressed by the crafted cocktails (The Smokey Negroni was superb) and the delicious food that had us all but speechless besides the 'Mmmm's" and occasional, "Omg you have to try this!" Our dessert was decorated with a candle for our celebration which was not solicited but very appreciated and the staff offered to take a family picture for us. To top it all off, Bridges atmosphere was pleasant, and the space is beautiful! We all gave 5 stars and agreed that we would definitely make the over 1 hour drive from SoBro/Indianapolis to dine here again!
The best pizza I have ever eaten! Macaroni and cheese to dream about. Everything was superb! Great food and great service!
We always enjoy ourselves at Bridges. The food is always amazing.
My husband and I love to eat at Bridges. We eat there every opportunity we can. I recommend Bridges to everyone I know. There is always new items to be found on the menu. The service is always so friendly and helpful. And the food? Oh my, I'm convinced the food just gets better every time I eat at Bridges.
We loved the NYE dinner at Bridges. The filet and whole bronzino were simply amazing. Chef Sal is so inventive and the entire staff is amazing.
It was a pleasure to spend New Year's Eve at Bridges with friends and we saw other friends dining there, too. Very enjoyable.
GREAT place, love the staff and manager is always so friendly!!
Great place to enjoy a family evening and great food!
Awesome food, very attentive wait staff, and perfect atmosphere.
We can’t get enough of Bridges.
Great atmosphere and food. Would have liked a bigger table to handle appetizers and main dish.
Consistently excellent food and service. Noise level varies according to the source of clientele and events on campus drawing crowds into town.
Bridges is the best. Period. If you live in Indianapolis, it’s worth the drive to Greencastle.
I took my girlfriend here for a romantic dinner and was very pleased. The restaurant is beautiful and has great food. Overall I was very impressed.
