It wasn’t a great experience and terrible value for what we got. It was the very last night that it was open before undergoing major renovations and rebranding - but they sure didn’t reduce the prices. It’s closed now until April 2022 when it will reopen as a Tap and Barrel. They were out of a lot of menu items when we showed up at 8pm. It was the worst of the two of our anniversary dinners. But they’re closed now so this review is pointless.
Fish and chips had soggy batter
Poke bowl had little bits of what looked like chewed up tuna
Most of the dishes were unavailable as restaurant was closing for renovations
Very bad and not fresh food
I will. It recommend this restaurant
We left. It was their last day before permanently closing. Very little food left and nothing like the menu online. Oddly they called to mention that some items wouldn't be available but failed to mention that the dinner menu wasn't on offer. Plus didn't say that they would be closing today.
My wife and I had an early dinner at Bridges. Surprisingly they had very few gluten free options for my wife, so she ordered the salmon. The only vegetable side it came with was Brussels sprouts, which is a pretty polarizing dish - you love it or hate it. Sadly my wife hates it, and the server, who didn’t seem to want to be there, told her there were no other options, so I ate them for her. When we were almost done they brought out some broccolini! Sadly we were already full, and I wish they would have told us they were doing that. My fish & chips were really bland. Finally the bill came and it was the wrong bill, the exact same thing that happened to the table next to us. The food was just ok and the service was pretty bad. I expected a lot more from Bridges. Wouldn’t bother going there again.
Location spectacular, food totally disappointing. I had salad and a pizza for $50 and I’m pretty sure I could have had a better experience from making my own frozen pizza and pre made salad from save on foods. Service was great though. Hopefully they will reno the food like they are doing to the building.
It’s been a long time since I recieved such poor service. Long wait for the drinks and our food was served before we got any cutlery, by the time we got it the food was cold. Menu looked nice but many items werent avialable during dinner service. There were also mice running across the patio.
Unfortunately we did not know the restaurant was scheduled to close for major renovation in 3 days. We came for the seafood and what we originally wanted was not available due to shortage of food/menu items. Our appies took a very long time to get delivered and my husband steak was raw when he ordered medium rare.
There was hardly any cheese on the nachos, best item was the dessert they brought to my daughter for her birthday and my cocktail wasn't bad.
Had we known the restaurant was scheduled to close I would have booked elsewhere. Our waiter was very friendly and tried to accommodate us as best as he could.
As Bridges is closing for renovations i cant recommend it. I just hope they dont take away the atmosphere there is there now!!!!
Young couple on date night on a Saturday night. Very good time as far as ordering food and first drinks but after that, the service seemed to disappear. We weren’t checked on once to see if we wanted another drink or to see if our food was ok. I completely understand it was busy, but we honestly felt like we were ignored. The waitress barely spoke to us and we felt they couldn’t wait for us to just pay our bill and leave. The food was amazing, but the service took away from the night slightly.
Service was horrible, food was not seasoned, waitress was rude and not interested in her customers, or maybe it was just us. We thought it would be nice to have a final meal before Bridges closes down for good, but the quality of food and the service has already left. It’s too bad, as we’ve had a lot of fun and good experiences here in the past, it’s a shame to go out this way.
We came for brunch and told that menu no longer exists for the last week! Bummed! Ok so lunch it is! I had the poke bowl which was good
The service was very poor. I asked for a slice of cucumber for my gin and tonic and the waitor said he could do that. No cucumbers available. We ordred Nachos as appetizer to share. There were hardly any chips. I asked for extra cheese...lots of cheese but no chips. Just melted cheese. Then when a got my dinner. Well I had ordered vegetarian Mediterranean burger. It was hard as rock and so dry and super salty. I only hate a quarter of the burger and told the waitor and said nothing, did nothing to rectify the horrible burger.
Service great! Beautiful seating outside, perfect weather. We found the caesar dressing lacked flavour…rather bland. Seafood served on caesar was good however three shrimp or small prawns & smaller pieces of salmon & halibut. Not super impressive. If we go back it’ll be a different choice from the menu.
The chowder was quite small for the price. But we enjoyed our visit with friends.
Too bad it was pouring rain and hostess had to deal with checking vaccination passports and Id outside causing us to get soaked. Hope an inside station can be set up
In inclimate weather
Service and food was excellent. I am allergic to mussels and the soup I ordered had mussels in it. When we told them that, they right away brought another bowl of the soup without mussels. Then they noticed that the main dish I ordered had mussels in it and they told me that and changed to a new main dish. Excellent service.
Excellent food and service. Our meal came fast and hot and everything was delicious.
Booking system lacked clarity. We expected to be upstairs
But ended up downstairs
We had another great evening with our friends at Bridges. This is the spot we take all our guests as the view and the service are remarkable and we plan on continuing to make it our go to spot. As always the service may have been the best part though. Spencer was friendly, helpful and had a great sense of humor, he really made the experience special. It was truly a pleasure to be served by him, thank you, Spencer, for being the best!
Well, it’s hit and miss here: it’s such a lovely patio, unless you are seated on the “inner patio” which is technically outside but you can’t see the water/harbour at all. Service was inconsistent, servers didn’t check in regularly so we sat with our finished plates for some time. Request while making the reservation for a nicer table (our anniversary) didn’t get us a nicer table. Bridges is about to close, renovate and become a Tap and Barrel though, so I guess it doesn’t matter.
It was our 33rd wedding anniversary.
One of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. Was looking forward to a final meal in the city for my anniversary and chose Bridges for the view. Made a reservation and specified the anniversary, when we got there we were seated with a hedge obstructing the view, despite many seats available by the water in an open seating area. It took asking several times to eventually get us moved (tables were available the whole time). We ordered pizza which reminded us of a lunchable, but the fish and chips were ok. To drink we had a weak strawberry margarita pitcher.
Haven’t been here in years. Nice to be reminded of why this is a great place to eat- fantastic location, attentive service, quality food. Plus you don’t have to book a res two weeks in advance to get a table like other hot restaurants.
A lovely scenic patio, good food and service but the portions were very slim. We're not overly large women, but the two of us ended up ordering a third entre to split after dinner, as both the appetizer and two entres were quite small and we were still really hungry. We thought they had cut portion sizes to avoid having to raise prices.
You really can't beat good food with amazing views!
One of my favourite go to places for comfortable & scenic outdoor dining
Service was good, and the ambience was pleasant, but I didn't enjoy the tuna burger that had cold slabs of tuna in it..
My experience was an average one. Service was just okay but not over the top exception. The food was decent but not overwhelmingly delicious. You can tell they’re really gearing down towards shutting the restaurant for renovations.
:) they forgot my bread with my meal. when I finally was able to ask for it, I asked for an extra piece and they literally charged me for it.... the least you can do is give me an extra frickin piece of bread for free after you forgot it... just saying....
Wonderful west coast setting, including the rain! The food was delicious (I had the Poke Bowl which was excellent) and the service was exceptional. The staff were most accommodating in finding a table where we could enjoy the rain while staying dry.
Great location, awesome service from Spencer! He went out of his way to make us feel welcome and was just super funny!
Don’t order the Poke- the tuna quality and quantity was poor and the other ingredients were not at all representative of a good poke! Our friends however, thoroughly enjoyed the fish & chips.
Great waiter, great food and great view sitting out on patio. Couldn’t have been better!
Service was terrible, think it was just bad luck with who we got.
We were really looking forward to dining here as we had a couple of times in the past but it was at least 12 years ago. There was a private function on the upper level, but we had expected to sit outside up there for a great view as we had it the past. When we arrived a little earlier, we said inside was fine since we were not to be upstairs. We were directed to a small table which clearly had not been cleaned properly as it had crumbs on it. When I pointed that out before sitting, the hostess said ” oh, do you want me to clean that?” Not the response I expected. Ambience inside lower level was terrible, my wife’s salmon was over cooked, it was loud, and expensive. We were not very happy with it and decided that would be our last visit there. As we walked out of Granville Island we noticed the Vancouver Fish Company and how nice it looked. This is what we had expected of Bridges.
Great location- perfect menu - good service - reasonably priced - great weather!
The manager Chris was amazing. He went extra efforts to ensure our night went off without a hitch. Food was fantastic and our server was new to the job and will get better as he goes. Overall 5 huge STARS!!
Your restaurant accommodated us to increase our reservation when my daughter flew in from London to surprise us on Thursday. The server was excellent and the manager noticed my daughter looking around for the heater to be turned, came to enquire what we needed then turned it on within minutes. Thanks, Bridges!
Paid way too much for a “seafood” Caesar Salad that had a very minimal amount of seafood in it. Two small prawns, two small chunks of salmon. Not great value
Lovely patio, overlooking the marina and Burrard Bridge. Perfect for casual drinks and dining. Good prices and decent, limited but varied menu. Food and wine were excellent too. Recommended.
