We've been to Bridges many times over the years. We've been coming since 1990. It used to be our go-to place. However, each time we come now, the food portions seem smaller, the quality of food is definitely not as good as it used to be, things are looking a little tatty and the servers are limited and cannot provide a high level of service. Last night was the worst yet. The food isn't horrid but the prices and portions are astronomical for what you are getting. I'm sure COVID isn't helping the situation:( With so many other options, this no longer is a priority on my list unfortunately.
We loved our afternoon on the patio at Bridges. The ambiance was lovely. The tables are nicely spaced, it was quiet so that we could have a conversation, and our server, Sara, was perfect. We had a bottle of wine and shared a chicken burger, which was divided for us in the kitchen, making it easier than sharing off of the same plate. Everything was done for the comfort and enjoyment of the patrons. We could not think of another thing they could have done to make the occasion more enjoyable. The cost was very moderate. We have visited all of the patios on Granville Island. All are nice, but this was our favourite. Much appreciated and we will return soon!
Bridges is a wonderful place to eat especially when the weather is as beautiful as it was the day my sister and I were there. The food was fine but not outstanding. Not enough choices for people who don't eat meat. I wanted to have a pasta dish but don't care for creamy sauces, prefer a tomato or pink sauce. No alternative other than a meat pasta. Also, Ling Cod doesn't go on pasta but the prawns would have been lovely. We had the Sockeye dinner which was okay but little flavour. Good thing I brought salt and pepper along. There is enough meat on the menu for meat lovers but Vancouver is a place where so many people don't eat meat anymore so there should be more vegetarian choices or perhaps just more pasta choices. Our server Andre was absolutely wonderful. He was very polite and didn't say the usual "no problem" that SO many servers seem to say these days. I would go back but maybe just for a drink and appetizer. I would recommend Bridges for the ambience but not necessarily for the food.
Did nothing to accommodate birthday or acknowledge. Had to ask for a better table even though better tables were available. Took forever for order to come to new table even though we had moved all-most right away. Service was off. I did appreciate dogs on the deck, very nice :)
Friendly service, tasty food for Mothers’ Day- recommended
Perfect view ! Mother’s day celebration was wonderful🥂
This place is a good choice for a family branch. Nice view, great service, cozy atmosphere, and delicious food. Just this time, food was kind of bland; I hope they will change it in the future. I want to keep this place on our list.
Good food. Huge patio space. Great service. Great location.
It was lacking slightly in waiter being attentive. Came by our table twice & it was not busy. Overall it was just okay experience.
Great view! Lovely spot to spend a Sunny COVID afternoon
Our reservation was to be under cover as weather was iffy. As it turned out we were just outside of the covered/heated area. People sitting in the covered heated area were able to remove their coats and scarves whereas, we wore our wool jackets and wool scarves and were still cool. No rain but a cool wind throughout the evening.
The service was attentive and efficient and the food was good.
I would recommend the restaurant but caution them about weather and location of their table.
Patio heaters were not working properly and waitress told us they couldn't move one next to our table.
Patio furniture was old and rundown.
Coffees were terrible with hardly any espresso, just lots of warm (not even hot) water.
Service was terrible, waitress had bad attitude and it took too long for food to arrive.
Food was not good, potatoes were overdone, hollandaise sauce was orange, tasted and looked processed, not freshly made.
Bridges has gone downhill. Was the best on Granville Island 30yrs ago. Too bad.
Beautiful location, attention to COVID protocols appreciated
Thank you for your review, Mairette! Hopefully we can host you again soon!
We had a great time on the patio - service, drinks, and food were great!
Thank you for the awesome review Megan! We look forward to seeing you on the patio again soon!
Not much variety on brunch menu. The seasonal fruit on pancake was 1 blackberry, 1/2 strawberry and 2 grapes. Topped with 1/2 tsp marscapone cheese
Great view from the patio. Service could’ve been better but more forgiving due to the pandemic. Food was ok. Can’t beat the location- would definitely come back for drinks but not for food.
A great place to eat on GI.
Thank you, OzMedia, for taking the time to leave us a review! We hope to see you again soon.
Beautiful View :)
Thank you for the great review! We love the view too. I hope you get the chance to visit us again soon.
Server was awesome.
Thank you for the review! We're so glad you enjoyed the service and look forward to having you back again soon.
Great patio, good service but very disappointed with the food. Lacked flavour and quality.
I have to say that truffle burger was pretty good. One of the best burgers in Vancouver I would say. I wish they would put a little music on the patio. Would liven things up.
Our server was good - a very pleasant and helpful young woman.
And the deck and the view were fabulous.
Our food sadly was very mediocre. Eggs were hard, no doubt sitting under a
hot lamp for too long as the capers sitting on the smoked salmon were completely dried out. The potatoes were very good and it would have been better to have more of those than the large pile of tasteless toast.
But the patio is an amazing place to sit and watch the activity on the water around the dock. On this bases I will recommend.
Hello Frankie! Thank you for the kind words for your service and I am glad that you found the patio and its views comfortable and enjoyable. Thank you also for the feedback on your meal, this will help us improve as we march towards summer. I hope we get the chance to host you again soon. Cheers!
Food was OK but service was amazing and have good view.
Always a joy to eat at Bridges. Ambiance, sunshine and mostly friendly and efficient service.
Maria, thank you for joining us. Thank you also for the kind words and the great review. I hope you get the chance to visit Granville Island ( and Bridges!) during the summer. Let us know if there is anything we can do when that happens. Thank you again.
Great patio with a fantastic view. Would definitely recommend.
Hi Cindy! Thank you for the positive review. I hope you get the chance to enjoy our patio again soon! Cheers.
What a gorgeous patio. Excellent service, great food.
what a beautiful place to enjoy the sun. food was great and service was attentive but not overbearing
Patio dining on my birthday. It was windy and the heater wasn’t working. Are as fast we could. Though when I booked I mentioned it’s my birthday that night but no acknowledgement. Food was delicious and we are quickly because the wind didn’t help warm us up.
They were very kind about moving heaters around to keep us warm on their patio. Had a very nice brunch. Service was excellent!
Waiter was so friendly. Food was amazing.
Hostess could be nicer.
Thank you for the review and for your feedback! We look forward to seeing you again soon.
Went for my Friends 50th, we were seated and completed ignored. Tried to get nicely ask for service and no one came, waited 25 mins and left. We are supporting local with Covid and thought we’d have a great time. Unfortunately we didn’t. No care attitude.
Unfortunately we did not have a positive experience. Food was over priced and mediocre. We had a reservation but were seated in a bar area with a draft from an open door. We were moved but second seating was noisy snd a mouse appeared twice and ran under our table. Won’t be back Very disappointing as we rarely get out for dining so this wasn’t a good experience. Service was pleasant.
Had reservations for 7 PM. We were concerned about the stated 5 min grace period. Didn’t get to our table until 10 mins after reservation time. Food arrived fast, however, we weren’t quite finished with our appetizers, and the entrees already came out.
The service was average. The server didn’t come by to check in on us to see how the food was until we were almost done. We felt like we weren’t noticed much and not checked in on. The server had passed by our table multiple times during the course of our meal. I was also not offered another drink until I was long finished my first one. We also had no water an alternative drink.
We also didn’t feel like we got value for the food.
As soon as myself and my wife ordered our drink and said we didn’t want food nobody returned to our table for over 40 minutes. When our drinks had been gone 5 minutes I had to walk up to the host at the front and ask for our bill as nobody had come over.
The outdoor patio space is great BUT it can get some “make up” to the area, including having more “working outdoor gas heater”. The calamari is just so-so and small portion.
Best Welcome staff from front desk, Chris (Manager), Spencer our server Best views of our healthy vibrantWest coast life. My martini was served exact to my taste. Loved HappyHour on a rainy or sunny day at Bridges. Dinner in dining room is super special. Clean washrooms and space
Terrific location in Granville Island with unobstructed views of False Creek, the City and bridges. The patio is one of the best on a nice day. Food was very good but serving sizes small. Service was attentive, friendly and cheerful. Good local beer.
Great restuarant. Servers were excellent, quick and helpful. Food came quickly and was hot and fresh. I would like to see a bit more on the menu. Especially the appetizer list seemed a bit limite. I would go back
Hello Lindsay! Thank you for the kind words and I am glad that you enjoyed yourself here. I appreciate the feedback and I look forward to sharing new items on our upcoming spring and summer menus. We also offer brunch on the weekends upstairs in our Dining Room. See you again soon. Cheers!
Bridges has always been a favourite spot because of its option of dining on the outdoor deck on sunny days. Unfortunately, the ambience isn’t what it was in the past while dining indoors only because of the safety restrictions during Covid. However, aside from that, the staff were very attentive and fun.
Hi Salsa! Thanks for taking the time to leave us a positive review. I'm glad you enjoyed your time with us. I look forward to welcoming you back during patio season ( which is right around the corner ). Cheers!
It was an added perk that not only did we arrive in time for Happy Hour but also 1/2 price on certain wines. Bridge's continues to be one of our favourites when in we are in the area. We are very much looking forward to when the patio opens.
Hi Glenn, I am very happy to see that you were able to enjoy our Wine Wednesday promotion. It is a unique offering compared to other wine promotions in the city. As for patio season, you can expect tables to be available every day either under the heaters or out on the dock ( or both!). I look forward to welcoming you back soon! Cheers.
