My wife had the ravioli which was delicious. I had the chicken which was horrid; one of the worst meals I have honestly had in years.
My wife, son and his wife, and my granddaughter took me to Bridges for the Father's Day special 3-course meal. Appetizers, entrees, and desserts were delicious. Entrees included short ribs, ono (fish), veal, and halibut. Wait staff was very attentive and we had an(other) enjoyable meal and evening at Bridges.
Feels like I'm again writing same review as past few...great food, poor service. Maybe the job market is too tight because great service seems to be hard to come by. We had short ribs -- perfectly cooked and tender and served on a creamy corn base , and ono -- large filet perfectly prepared and served with spinach and grains. Really delicious. But again, server was stiff and generally not around. Everything was overpriced. Bridges is an institution, but showing its age.
Went to Bridges for Father's Day Dinner. It was a mistake! We have been there many times for both dinners and lunches and have been pleased with the food quality and service. This Father's Day dinner required us to choose from a special fixed price menu ranging from about $45-$65. Food quality and portions were very disappointing all the way from appetizers to desserts. It's hard to understand why this restaurant needs to take advantage of its customers on a special occassion like Father's Day with a limited "special menu" at double the usual prices and a definite decrease in the food quality.
We had the worst experience with the service and the food. It was very unfortunate!
Bridges never lets me down! I visit from Los Angeles and it is worth the 400 mile drive!!
First time eating at Bridges. Booked for Father’s Day Brunch. Really enjoyed the salad but the eggs where not fully cooked and the potatoes were over cooked. Very expensive for not liking the food
The food was mediocre and our server was pleasant but not terribly attentive. The bill was 270 before tip for five people - no alcohol. Wasn’t a great value. No one at the table finished any course. It just wasn’t that good.
We eat out frequently. This is the third time we’ve been to Bridges and it will be our last.
Very disappointing from what Bridges was in the past.
My wife's meal was risotto. Neither of us could eat it. First, it was not arborio rice. Then it was served with a pile of cheese on top. Pretty poor, so bad that we sent it back. They replaced it with a steak. Steak was good, but served on top of a pile of potatoes.....no vegetables, and the potatoes had barbecue sauce on them.....inedible. My shrimp meal was adequate. Overall, other that our server who was great, this was a big disappointment, and definitely over-priced for the the food quality.
Although we indicated on the reservation that this was an anniversary dinner, it was never acknowledged.
In spite of cold wind on the patio, a full restaurant, and a bride and groom (!), we enjoyed a lovely, lingering evening celebrating Father's Day and a son's birthday. We always return to Bridges.
Consistently good. The service, the food, it’s all good at Bridges.
Our favorite place to dine. Love the food and the staff is great.
Always a great meal; love the Prawns in Red Curry sauce.
Great meal and service. An experience to be repeated.
I thought the veal streak was terrible - all bone and fat. Highlight was the scalloped potatoes. Including the 18 percent tip is a little presumptuous. Service was great. Menu needs to be larger for such a well known Bay Area icon.
As always the food was very good and the desserts wonderful. We had the hot Mexican choc Creek brûlée. Amazing. The service was unusually slow but we were in a hurry and sitting outside is always so relXing.
Loved the food and the staff they knew what was excellent for lunch.
Very nice outside dining. The fixed price 3-course-dinner Sunday - Wednesday night is a great deal!
Fine food, great ambiance, exceptional service. Wish I could remember our server's name as he deserves special praise. Bridges is a restaurant that will never disappoint.
Enjoyable. Good Food. Good Ambiance. Brunch is a good time to come. $4.00 Mimosa's were appreciated.
Patio was closed due to wind... was quite noisy inside.
Burger was too greasy.
Not enough choices for lunch. Pastrami should not have onions in it. The pastrami was very good but it should not include onions
The halibut special was exceptional. It had all the things I love: quinoa, arugula, corn. I am not sure of the sauce or dressing but it was delicious! The others had the pork chop, salmon and the risotto and all said it was very good.
Bridges has been and continues to be one of our favorite dinning out restaurants.
Enjoyable setting, food and service! For any occasion.....
Great place for lunch especially if it's warm enough to sit outside. There outside seating area is in a garden like setting. The food is always wonderful and reasonable.
Our server put in both of our orders wrong and brought us both the same fish, neither of which we ordered. Two weeks ago ago we had the same waitress and she gave us such poor service that our meal was comped by Bridges. This time we had to ask her to comp us a round of drinks while we waited another 20 min for the meals we ordered. We expect much better out of Bridges restaurant.
Perfect for a fine lunch, quiet conversation, and lovely surroundings for two old friends to meet. Waiter was friendly and attentive. Even brought my friend a Birthday cupcake with a candle.
Service was lacking but everything else good
Perfect restaurant to meet up with old friends. Food was delicious and served kindly by our waiter. Service friendly and prompt. Good atmosphere quiet
PHENOMENAL!!! Great food, great service, great staff, beautiful setting. Just love coming to Bridges as I know I will always walk away satisfied. My husband and I ordered their special which was Hawaiian fish monchong. Tender, tasty and the chef balanced it well with the right fresh ingredients. We had a bottle of Frank Family Chardonnay, delicious. Perfect meal. Mama was happy. =)
Really good place for large parties. We saw a few families celebrating birthdays. Main dish that we ordered wasn’t extraordinary but it was good. The drinks, Brussels sprout salad and service is outstanding! If you’re East of the tunnel definitely worth trying.
It was a celebration for my son's graduation from College. Sat out on patio. Lovely table in nice area. Live music-man playing guitar and singing. Not too loud, was just right. Service was a bit slow, not very attentive. Food was good. All in all it was a good experience and a nice meal. Great ambiance. That is why I like Bridges patio if the weather is good!
The atmosphere is wonderful but the choices for brunch limited and a bit strange. An omelet or just plain eggs and bacon/sausage and a sweet pastry would be a nice addition. Great service but food a bit bland.
Our dining experience was enjoyable at the beginning but service provided by our waiter was sketchy. We have enjoyed going to Bridges over an extended period of time, as the food is excellent. I would still recommend, but service missed the mark with us this time.
Love the overall feel of this restaurant. Our server Nico, was very helpful and friendly & able to answer any questions we had regarding the menu! Our food was AMAZING, so flavoursome!
Highly recommend to all
Unbelievable errors with our order - two out of four main dishes were wrong. Food presentation and taste was below par for the price.
Still love this place! The food was beautifully presented and the taste lived up to the visual preview. Reminds me that I need to return more often.
