Great food and service! The cocktails were below average. We ordered a couple of classic cocktails and it was obvious in they were made with bottom shelf liquor.
That aside, great place and we will go back again and stick to wine next time
We have dined here multiple times , last visit the service was not great and we had to flag servers down constantly for every and anything we needed. Disappointed.
It was the first time in 18 months that life felt normal.
One of our favorite dinner spots. We’ve never been disappointed.
Great lunch, enjoyable glass of wine, wonderful service
Service & ambiance was very good but the swordfish special was overcooked. Bridges is one of our favorite places to go.
We sat outdoors which is really quite pleasant and tables are well-space for privacy.
Ambient noise was not a problem at all. We had the swordfish special and the grilled salmon. Both dishes were superb.
A good time had by all!
Always a treat
Always enjoy Bridges. The menu is unique. So are the cocktails.
The service was horrible. No one came to our table for 15 mins and then our drinks didn’t arrive for another 20 mins. The waiter never apologized for the delay, and even seemed a bit flippant.
The service was a bit slow, but everything we ordered from apps to dessert was delicious.
We were there to celebrate our anniversary. The food and service were excellent! But we had a couple next to us where the guy had obviously been drinking before they came. He kept arguing with his wife the whole time! It was very stressful and uncomfortable. The couple on the other side of us complained to the manager. She went to their table and asked if everything was okay. They said yes and she walked away. But the guy just kept arguing the rest of the time they were there!
Great food. Excellent service from the hostess to the water boy..
We came to celebrate a promotion. The host was great and got us a table outside even though our reservation was inside. Our waitress was friendly and professional. My cocktail was delightful.
The issue we had is one we have had repeatedly since moving here six months ago (from Berkeley): food.
We were already aware of the suburban phenomenon where a “nice restaurant” is confused with a “good restaurant”. Walnut Creek, Danville etc. have a plethora of “nice restaurants”: lovely terraces and nice furnishings, lots of tables, decent service, high prices.
But instead of fresh food perfectly cooked and cleanly presented, we are served large plates of poorly conceived and rushed dishes, overly sauced and seasoned, that feel cranked out by a factory.
My date had a seared ahi tuna in a bed of couscous, pancetta and wild mushrooms. I had a New York steak with Gouda grits.
The Ahi wasn’t seared, it was just cooked halfway through. It came with a “sugar sauce”(?) which she wisely got on the side. Why anyone would pour a sugar sauce over seared ahi and mushrooms? Anyone? The bed of mushrooms had so much pancetta it almost was more meat than the Ahi. I don’t get it.
My NY steak (about $40) was a sad thin piece of semi tough meat. About 1/2” thick, was technically done med/rare but I would have been embarrassed to serve it. A busboy came and took the plate while I was still eating, without a word.
We have yet to find a “good restaurant” where we would go to celebrate a special event. A “good restaurant” that feels intimate, quiet, where the food is carefully and consistently prepared. Where the wine list has the same attention to detail and pride.
I like a good cocktail, people watching, and lounging on a nice terrace in the warm evening. Next time I’m in that mood, and I’m in a restaurant with 80 tables, I’ll have the cocktail and some fries and split. I guess I’ll go to Berkeley for the other until I find the right spots here; this isn’t it.
The menu items were all great. Loved the lettuce wraps and the Brussel sprouts were amazing!!!
Only complaint , wasn’t busy when we arrived. Took awhile to place our drink order. We ordered hors d’oeuvres after our drink order. Waitress was very sweet and apologized that the bar was taking so long. We actually got our hors d’oeuvres before our drinks!! Didn’t start off our evening very well, especially when entertaining out of state guests. 30 min later we got out cocktails. Our guest had asked to leave after 15. Embarrassing
Good for a business lunch. Ambiance was nice, service was average.
It was my first time there. We ordered the waffles to share. The vanilla bean cream and peaches were to die for. Also had the bacon Fritata and my friend had the chicken sandwich which was also very good. The service and ambiance of the restaurant was great. I’ll definitely go back.
Service, food and drinks were all well done. Our waitress was friendly and efficient.
Service was fantastic. The drinks were great—raspberry lemon drop tasted like summer. The curry prawns are spectacular and never disappoint. Great atmosphere as well.
Food was varied and quite good. Interaction with greeters and hostess seemed less friendly than usual. Our table for a group of 5 was not put in a great place, kind of in a corner against a wall and by a doorway that wait staff were frequently going in and out of. Also in the past there has been some soft live music on the weekend but there wasn't this time. Prices seemed reasonable and we didn't feel hurried. I would recommend this restaurant for groups of 2 to 4 if you want a nicer table.
Bridges continues to be amazing, in the pandemic or not. Love eating there. The patio is amazing.
was slow. One item was burnt.
Outdoor area was very nice.
Great meal and wonderful service!
Had a great time! Good food, the service was okay, ambiance was great.
Service was outstanding, very attentive, we did not even have to ask for our waters to be refilled. All servers were friendly, courteous and attentive!
Great food and service!
Lovely outdoor tables complete with tablecloths. Food is extraordinary and perfectly presented. Quality is the name of Bridges. The staff is kind and considerate. One of my most favorite places to visit.
My husband and I took our moms there for dinner last night and as alway, it was fantastic! I had the mixed green salad with grilled salmon and the other all ordered the salmon entree with noodles and we all loved our dish! Service is great, ambiance is lovely outside on the patio and the soups are always too notch!
Stupendous as usual. Bridges is a go-to restaurant for us.
Everything about our lunch experience was just right. We were greeted cordially and seated right where we needed to be. Our server was efficient and accommodating, and another server also stepped in to do various things for us.
We really enjoyed the lunch selections quite a bit —— delicious and beautifully presented. We had such a great experience that we both ordered dessert —— another delight.
Thanks to you all for maintaining such high standards and graciousness. It is much appreciated.
Have had the avocado toast with smoked salmon in the past, it was excellent. This time I came a day after a holiday and it wasn't as fresh.
Just a comment you might be interested in.
We still love Bridges!
Great place to meet with friends or family. We love going there
Service is very very slow
Not many choices and poor food quality. I order flat iron steak, if came with 4oz of steak and french fries for $29, not worth it at all. I used to like this place, but I won’t go back for a long time.
Service was excellent. Food was delicious. We will be returning to Bridges again!
My wife and I always enjoy dining at Bridges. It has been awhile since we were there last but we did notice that there were limited entrees.
We would really like to see the return of live music.
Gary and Ruth Yount
Quiet,clean, hot food .
Enjoyed a spectacular meal for our 32nd anniversary. Attentive young man sat us, but before taking us to a table he asked, if we’d like to sit at Mrs. Doubtfire table? What? Yes, of course, we would. We then were treated to the best service by Hannah, she made the evening even more special. She’s attentive, friendly makes you feel like you’re the only ones in the restaurant. But as I watched she was this way with all her tables. Our meal was spectacular, from the cocktails, appetizers, soup and entrees. Some of our favorites were the firecracker edamame, phylo wrapped brie, stir fry Mexican prawns with a curry sauce. The New York steak was out of this world delicious and cooked a perfectly. We will definitely be back soon. We’re looking forward to enjoying one of the delicious burgers with truffle fries and of course one of your specialty cocktails
