Bridges Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
We arrived early and were seated at a quiet table inside as it was chilly outdoors. The service was polite and friendly but our server didn’t come by frequently enough so there were long waits for drinks and for ordering dessert. Everyone enjoyed their meal and had a good time. As the restaurant filled it got quite loud. I’d go back for brunch if it was a good day for patio seating, but try elsewhere for indoors.
Had a great birthday brunch. They effortlessly accommodated a party of 12 young adults. Outside patio seating was great. Only item - we brought in a cake - and were charged a plating fee of $2.50 per person. Was not aware of charge when I called in prior to making sure it was ok to bring in a cake. Should be more transparent and forthcoming about their fees.
Everything for the food was great and delicious with the exception of the special on the menu that evening which was filet and shrimp with sausage. It was an absolute big disappointment. The filet mignon was thin, pan fried, very dry and flavorless, with two very dry and bland shrimp (not large prawns) and the sausage was cut into very thin and small quarters mixed in with too many vegetables. When the waiter told us about the filet mignon and shrimp, we were expecting a nice thick, grilled to perfection with somewhat large, juicy prawns and creatively-cooked sausages. A huge disappointment for the value and for a 'special' on the menu in an upscale restaurant.
Valentine’s dinner on 2/13. Food was top notch as was the service. Restaurant was animated but not excessively noisy. We were seated right away and they were sensitive to my dietary needs (lactose free). I had sea bass special and he had swordfish and we both had starter salads. Good wine selection by the glass.
My husband and I have birthdays two days apart and there is no better place to celebrate than Bridges! The food is exceptional (ahi tuna and a very buttery fish with capers). Dessert was delicious and their Bulleit manhattans are wonderful. It is a place where one feels that they have really been treated well
I hadn't been here in about a year and was pleasantly surprised. I think the menu is better, more choices and the specials were very creative. Three of the group ordered the reasonably priced prix fixe menu which had three courses for $29.00. All of the staff were very attentive and pleasant.
It was a great food experience. I have the Seared Tuna and wife had the Crusted Salmon. Both excellent choices. I had an old fashioned drink, that cam excellent as well. Service was a little slow. We were seated in the far end of the patio, maybe that's why but minus one star for that.
The ambience is good and so is location. Service is ok. But for the price and occasion this truly failed with too much noise and the food was not great at all - NY Steak and Butternut Squash soup were just fine but the Chicken was really bad!
We were there to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary and I would not recommend this place for such occasion as it is too casual with quite a bit of noise!
I've had many meals at Bridges...Not sure what happened yesterday but the spinach salad hardly had any dressing and the chicken added on was very dry. Really not good at all. I had a better salad at The Habit the day before for half the cost. I will call this a fluke...
My friend said their meal was okay. The only reason I give it 4 stars is the ambiance and service was great. I should have sent it back but this was a business meeting so I just let it go.
I’ve been disappointed with the menu the last few times I’ve gone. The choices were mostly fish, one steak choice, one lamb choice, one chicken dish and one vegetarian option. I think they could have a better variety. The quality of the food is not in pace with the cost.
Very comfortable & casual vibe with Danville charm. The food is good, but not pretentious. Menu is appropriately varied, but I'd definitely try the Asian noodle shrimp salad which was DELICIOUS. The quinoa power bowl salad with steak just didn't have enough flavor, with shredded brussel sprouts delivering a bitter taste without a better dressing. However, the steak was cooked perfectly and was REALLY tender. Will DEFINITELY be returning to this hidden gem in quaint downtown Danville.
The food and service were both excellent! What was really impressive was the car valet saw had our car in front with seat heaters on when we got to the front door. My daughter was on crutches, and it was so kind of him to have the car THERE before we even presented the ticket!
First visit to Bridges and there will be more in the future. Bridges is gem conveniently located in downtown Danville. Parking isn't a problem, ambience is subdued and even romantic. We had swordfish which was perfectly prepared and presented and the waitress suggested a white wine that went well with dinner. Dessert was an outstanding creme brulee done just right. My only complaint is the noise level in the dining room which interfered with conversation at times. The restaurant was packed on this Saturday evening with customers enjoying the food and ambience.
It has been over 25 years since we have dined at Bridges - which was during the era of when original owner Art Bridges owned it and when that famous scene from Mrs. Doubtfire (Robin Williams) was filmed in the restaurant. We now live in Southern Orange County, CA, and when we wanted to get together with some old friends, this was our mutual choice. All four of us were extremely pleased with our meals, the service, and the ambiance. I had the Portobello Mushroom Raviolis and they were truly outstanding! Close to, if not the best I've ever had!
We’ve been going to Bridges for years. Although we hadn’t been in 1 year. They changed the menu and we didn’t see anything that we would want to eat on the main entrees. So I ordered a steak. The worst steak I’ve ever had. Wasn’t seasoned well at all. The server even acknowledged that he’s heard this. He noticed I didn’t eat it so he took it off the bill. I was greatful for that.
Please change your menu back. This is the farthest it’s been from the normal type of menu I’ve seen here.
