Met some long time friends and really enjoyed our lunch this past weekend. We have already started spreading the word. Great experience!
Went for a later dinner on a Friday night. Service was quick and food was great.
I have now been here four times and tried both lunch and supper. Excellent food, ambiance and service. I would recommend as a Must Try!!
The food was good but not exceptional. Pork loin was tough and we were unsure about the side which turned out to be macaroni and cheese but this was evident only after the server told us. Beautiful spot , friendly and great service but need to upgrade the food.
Four of us had lunch here 12/2014. Everything was really good especially the food presentation, tastes and service. The interior design is not to my taste with large ducts and garage style doors with their overhead mechanisms. This is compensated for by the ocean and coastal views.
We were all satisfied with our meals and the prices were not out of line.
Have already recommended this restaurant to several of our friends. We'll be back.
As usual, the food was very good. Our table had a wide variety of dishes and all of them were done well. Unfortunately, the waitress made a couple mistakes on the orders, as well as being so disorganized that she looked at me strangely when I started to order, not realizing that I hadn't done so yet. When the dishes arrived none of the servers knew what went where and, at a place like Bridgemans, they should know who has the salmon caeser and not have to stand at the table asking. It was a busy night but still, let's step up the service.
Bridgemans is one of my go-to local favourites! The service is great. The food is always delicious! I would rather stay home than pay for mediocre food. You cannot beat the setting over looking Mill Bay! We went for the "Wine, Dine. 69" Steak & Lobster. It was cooked to perfection! The starter prawns was choice! Service was excellent! My only regret was that I didn't have room for their scrumptious desserts! Everyone needs to try Bridgemans!
Been several times and food is always good and service excellent. Nice ambiance and great views, even at night. Will go again and again
Good quality food with reasonable amount of options. Beautiful environment at a nice location. Will recommend to anyone
Had a great Friday night date night again at the BB. Full moon and window seat were great and warm even on the terrace. I enjoyed my favourite Caesar Salad followed by the Sockeye Salmon. 9 oz. of the local House Red enhanced everything. See you next Friday!.
This is a great place for lunch or dinner. We stop here often with friends and visitors. The food is always good, the service proffessional and the location is hard to beat. The view is a fine finishing touch on an already good dining experience.
Great to have a place to eat in Mill Bay that is on the water with a great atmosphere and good service. Need a little more emphasis on the food as the quality is not always consistent. Overall it is a good place to eat lunch or dinner.
Had brunch. Didn't realize that was the only menu to chose from . Would have preferred a larger selection. All in all a great time was had by all.
What a discovery! With friends and family living in the Victoria area and us living in the central Island area, we are often looking for a relaxing place to meet for lunch at the half-way point. Bridgeman's Bistro was recommended to us by a friend and we were not disappointed. We have been twice. This visit, we had the Creamy Seafood Chowder and it is the best ever! Wonderful food, relaxed atmosphere, great service, beautiful view! We are spreading the word!!
The place it self was great...Service was fabulous...Husband had the ribs and love them...I had the steak and lobster and the lobster was excellent but the steak was tough....Will go back and try other menu items.....
Fun, friendly, gorgeous view of new marina. Needs a little more variety on the menu for those of us who avoid gluten/bread. Nachos are the best we've ever had. Service is just a little bit slow, but not a problem if you have time. Really good spiritual energy about the place if you are sensitive to such things. Feels good just to be there.
We made a reservation and had a view of the kitchen. The cannelloni was unremarkable, the quinoa burger was cold. Service was everywhere but not with us.
Great place to share in a Birthday celebration. Although we did not use it, they apparently have a shuttle service if you live in the area.
Our party arrived for the 4:30 booking, received service promptly and continued very very good for the entire time. Even though they were short staff, the chef put out every dish looking good and well done. We ate all the appy`s , main dish good portion and recommend Ruskin Ribs, NY Steak and Carbonara. The House Seaser, a yummy surprise, had a fun good time!!!
I live in Duncan & had no idea this restaurant existed. What a gorgeous setting. I will definitely recommend this restaurant. I am anxious to go there for Dinner sometime.
It was very expensive, IMHO. Had I ordered the crab cake appetizer (2 small cakes) and a caesar salad, the meal would have been $28. As it was, my pasta dish was $16, so with coffee and tip, more than $20 for lunch. Too much. The food is very good, tho. They will have a new lunch menu on October 6th, so hopefully the offerings at that time will be more reasonable. I'll try it again for lunch soon, and if the prices are still way out of line it will only be someplace I would go for dinner.
We were visiting Mill Bay and found Bridgemans Bistro on Open Table. What a lovely place! Fish and chips were very good. Everything came out fresh and piping hot. Would definitely recommend to others and return ourselves in the area.
My fathers 92nd birthday. A very rainy day, but with the enclosed deck and heaters on it was a great setting. Service was very good, the food was timely and delicious, not easy to please a 92 year old. Can't beat the view. One small but important item though, the hostess needs to either say good by or a thank you for coming when the customer is leaving.
Even with a reservation, it took awhile to get in, hostess appeared confused and was not fast. We were seated in the table where no one wanted, in the direct sun and it was too hot. This part of the restaurant needs some air flow (open windows), it was too hot. Took forever for the waitress to get to us and when she said she would be right with us, she wasn't and we didn't even have water for how hot it was where we were seated. I had to get up and wait again to ask the hostess if we could be moved. Once moved, it was cooler inside and a different waitress was right on us. Food was fast coming out. I am disappointed because no one would help when we needed it. We were not acknowledged and while waiting, so many staff just ignored us
Although I was disappointed that my wife's coffee was served in a cup with lipstick on it, the prawns served with the Caesar drink were rubbery ...actually disgusting and we found the noise level by the bar disturbing. We will book earlier next time to be sure to be seated on the patio. A few more options on the menu would be nice as well. The option to make reservations on-line is great. We are Mill Bay residents and are thrilled to have you in our community. I'm sure you'll be very successful but a little more attention to detail is required to achieve the high score.
Overall we had a great birthday dinner for my mom. For the most part the food was great! I was disappointed with the prawn appetizer. They appeared to be the extra large prawns that are flown in from Japan. Not local prawns. They were tough and very hard to remove from the the shells. The only other complaint is that while the burgers are good, they are too gourmet so they fall apart. You have to eat them with a knife and fork. The cod and chips were great as was the club house wrap and rib sandwich. The ambience and views are wonderful. The service was lovely. We enjoyed our dinner.
Had a spectacular time. Food was great and so was the wine, thank you!
Exceeded our expectations, we brought guests from New Zealand. A beautiful place to bring out of town visitors or to treat yourself.
Lovely location. The noise level was extremely high, mainly by young people shouting and laughing made it very difficult to have a conversation.
It was the high noise level that spoiled Bridgeman's for me. The host's explanation was that it was due to the fans in the kitchen. We were a good distance from the kitchen, but still had almost to shout at each other to make ourselves heard. We considered going outsold, but they had large heaters going that made it too hot. We have decided not to return.
The best entertainment was watching the sea otters play while sipping a local glass of wine.
Great burgers, great ambiance, a fun place to take a group, or just a couple
We celebrated my husband's birthday this week at Bridgeman's Bistro and we were very pleased. It was busy even for a Tuesday night, but we had a reservation (a must in the summer I think). The food was excellent; well cooked, flavourful, and beautifully presented. The only 2 complaints for that evening...the service was a bit slow, especially after we arrived and it was some time before our drink orders were taken and a few of the entrees weren't as hot as they could have been. Overall these 2 factors wouldn't put me off going back in the future. A welcome addition to the neighbourhood. Eating
Ive been plenty of times, indoor and outdoor, lunch and dinner. Loved every meal, drink, and experience! My favorite restaurant by far!
Great view, small portions, limited menu, nothing special.
Really enjoyed having lunch overlooking the marina. The food was great and the service was excellent. I love the venue and will not hesitate to recoomend to family and friends. I will be back!
We come here often for lunch in the summer as we bring our boat over from Saanich Peninsula so it is a great outing on a nice sunny day. We found the noise level high this time as we opted for a table inside this time to be away from the sun and it was very difficult to hear for our guests and to have a conversation. Food rating was based on food choices this time and the method of preparation but it was very well prepared and very nicely presented.
Food was fantastic for our party of 7. Unfortunately, noise level was high and couldn't hear each other. Next time we should ask for something for young children (5 and 2 yrs old), long time for them to wait for food as restaurant was very busy. A small plate of chips would go down well in this instance. This was our first visit and you are now on our list of top restaurants to add to our favourites. Thank You!!
We were at the Bistro for lunch on Sunday. It was a lovely sunny day and I requested that we have a table outside. Unfortunately, it was directly in the sun. There was no shade and none of the windows were open. Thus, it was extremely hot and somewhat unpleasant. All the other tables seemed to have some shade but that was not the case for us. Perhaps a fan, or an open windows, would rectify the situation.
Spectacular summer day...excellent service and delicious food. 5 stars all the way.
