Bridge & Barrel
Great place, so beautiful and the view was amazing. Christian was our server. Very respectful of our conversation and time, attentive, and knowledgeable. Food was amazing. We will be back!
Do Not recommend. Our drinks were made without a key ingredient and tasted awful and it took 30 minutes to get new ones. My husband's food came out in the wrong order and our appetizers and entrees came out within minutes of each other so I didn't even get to enjoy the soup (it wasn't good anyway) The entrees were like mediocre bar food at best. The waiter didn't even pick up on the fact that we hardly ate our food and just brought us the check without offering to bring by a manager or take any items off of our bill. He was completely oblivious.
Happy Valentines day to us.
Atmosphere was very nice. The service was excellent and quick. The food and drinks were good. The only negative thing I could say would be the prices are a little high.
So it's Valentine's and nothing can spoil my night... maybe!! my pork chop was raw because they are very thick. (They used this as the reason why it was raw) If you know this then cook it longer. They offer to fix it. Will make something new. So I said a sirloin med. They brought me ribeye ( I hate them too fatty) cooked rare. I mean really both things wrong because not cooked correct and then not even what I ordered. You are supposed to be fixing it. Mash potatoes were dry as well. My husband's steak was well done but he ordered it rare. Terrible food experience. The manager comes over and informs me that they only mistakes that have been made all night were my table after servering 160 ppl. I mean why are you making me feel bad because your wait staff doesn't listen when taken an order and your kitchen can't cook meat properly. How is that my fault. I want to give them a second chance some day but it won't be anytime soon. 😞
The place was empty for that time of day. Front of house didn’t seem to want to be bothered. Reservations were encouraged but definitely not needed. The food was horrendous. Steak got to the table barely room temp then appeared to be nuked on its return to the table on its second attempt. Sides were just ok and the hot brown was another missed opportunity. They have potential but really need to re-evaluate the way things are being done. The waitress was the best part and tried to make things right but the manager never got involved and probably wasn’t told
We went early to beat the traffic across the bridge so...we were the only ones there for a while. Christian was our excellent waiter & brought us drinks first. The we all decided to share the lobster Mac n’ cheese & fried green tomatoes. Both were very good. We then shared a bread pudding with whipped cream & a cherry pie with ice cream. Too bad more people don’t try it. I think being connected with a hotel may be the reason. We had a great time though!
We went here on Christmas Eve. There was only one other table occupied. The view is fantastic. Too bad the food doesn’t compare to the view. We had very mediocre food. They were serving a turkey dinner and a limited menu that night. The turkey was dry, everything else was just bland. We also got an order of crab cakes which were mainly breading, very little crab. The salmon was served as a sandwich. With a view like this, this restaurant has great potential. I’d love to see better food to match the view.
Situated on the River, it has a second story view. The menu is American fare, which is reasonably priced.
This for years was the Indiana location for the Bristol Bar and Grille.
The menu is completely different now with more traditional Kentucky and Indiana food choices.
Great bourbon selection as well.
Wonderful view of the Ohio River and an enclosed outdoor patio.
Everything was great. Online menu was very outdated.
Will not be back
The Cuban sandwich was ok. A bit dry
Bridge & Barrel has a beautiful view and we enjoyed the fresh food. If I were to make any suggestions, it would be to have more greens available with the main entree's. We shared a turkey club on another night and it was delicious but I think it could have been improved with a slice of tomato and some lettuce. I would definitely return the next time I'm in town!
Service was extremely show. Almost 15 minutes to get drinks & the restaurant was not busy. We ordered & manager told us they were out of food & would take too long to prepare. They were not going to fix it
Dinner took a long time and only 1/2 the food was ready when delivered for the fried chicken dinner. Was told by the waiter the other piece didn’t look good so they were remaking it. 30 minutes later the second piece was brought to the table. As it approach the table the smell of burnt food wafted in the air, it was placed on the table the piece was clearly blackened as in burned. I asked the waiter do you think that looks good he said no and I asked if he would’ve eaten it he said no. I then asked him why would he bring it to the table if he answered no to both of those questions. We asked for the check he brought it and said he took half off of that dinner and I said I was not satisfied with that since it was such a poorly executed plate. He corrected it and took that dish off the bill. The waiter was fine the bartender was great and drinks were the only place other than the salad and appetizer were fresh and tasty. Will not be going back. When we approach the restaurant noticed that there was only a few cars at 7 PM reservation and I had my reservation from that before even going in. Nice concept poorly executed. First time there and last time there.
This is the third time we dined at Bridge and Barrel. The view is awesome and it is a nice place to enjoy cocktails and enjoy the view. Unfortunately the menu is limited and does not cater to more conservative palates. The quality of food and service is not consistent; sometimes is amazing and others food is cold, service is slow or hardly existent. View and great selection of bourbons and drinks are the major pluses.
Great service, fantastic fool, delicious cocktails
I was seated by a window overlooking the river. Very nice view. My Reuban was very good, and the onion rings were great. The prices were reasonable.
We went on the 4th of July and the restaurant was very busy. Our waitress, Debbie, was very attentive and explained the possibility of a food delay. She kept us updated on the food delivery. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
There was a foul odor that hits you as soon as walk in. I was not impressed with the ambiance. The tables were like something from a cafeteria. I just expected more from a restaurant associated to a Sheraton Hotel. The place would have been empty if it were not for the other four groups of Thurby parties. There was a trivia thing happening on the patio right outside the restaurant and it made it difficult to have a conversation with out yelling. I ordered a martini and it tasted and smelled like something from the bay so I sent it back. I had a party of eight people and when I asked everyone how their food was the response was, "ok". Everyone loved the french fries and our server was great. There is not a big selection for dinner. This place might be okay for lunch. It was just okay for me too.
Weird smell of cleaning (?) product as you come in. Service is very slow.
View is nice; but there is other restaurants around which are better.
The smell was not pleasant - like a sulfur smell. Other than that, the service was ok and the food was good. Nice venue overlooking river
No the manager didnt call me until last minute to tell me the place was bought out and I could not change my reservations due to my plans and time. Ordered the pork belly and it was carmelized had a ok flavor but the carmel part was sticking to my teeth so bad I could hardly chew it. Not a goood experience.
Drinks were very good. Salads were excellent. My shrimp and grits were quite tasty. My husband said his Hot Brown was delicious. We had a table with a river view which was enjoyable! Service was great!
Friendly staff, good was hot and delicious and the environment was relaxing.
The food was overpriced for the amount of food served. Main entrees were in the upper teens to 20’s in price range and not served with a side. Sides were $6 for a small portion. Appetizers were hardly shareable and over $10.
The food was very well prepared and pleasing to the pallet, just not portioned to meet the price. The wine, beer, & cocktails were appropriately priced.
Given the quality of the food I think they are overpriced.
I had a good waiter and the view of the river was nice. But the food is way over priced for the amount and quality of food that you get.
Great food and friendly staff. Alan is doing a great job with this place..keep up the good work
Expensive and not worth it! The only good thing is the bar drinks and the view would be great if they washed the windows also they need to get a better host the boy with curly hair was on his phone and didn’t even pay attention!!!
They did not have enough servers working and service was slow. The atmosphere is not very intimate or quiet. It’s very open and kind of start. The food was delicious though. The waiter was very polite and enjoyable.
We had reservations for 7:00. They seated us when we arrived and were very friendly. It was New Year's Eve and they got busy. The staff were all very friendly and were responsive to our requests. There was a little hiccup with my salad not being delivered as expected; but, overall the experience was nice. We had a nice family meal with good food.
Great service. Nice place for a quiet dinner. Food was very good.
We dined with a group of 9 people on a quiet Tuesday night. The service was attentive and the view of the Ohio river and downtown Louisville is excellent. I had the burger and it was very tasty. Tried three desserts and enjoyed all three, but my personal favorite was the fried biscuits.
All of our food on the winter menu was great! I would say that the service speed was a little slow from the kitchen, but it gave opportunity for good conversation with our guest. I would prefer a little slow and our food come out great, then fast with lost of problems. Once we were served with our food, our server was attentive to our needs and checked back with us just often enough to make sure we were taken care of but not enough to be intrusive, good work here. Four of the six of us had the Kentucky Hot Brown. Their version was tasty, if I had one complaint, I would like to have had a more fluid cheese sauce, but by no means was this bad, just a matter of preference. After having this suggested as a nice place to bring out of town guest, my wife and I will be back in the future for sure. Our party did not engage in the bar or the drinks they prepare, so I can't give any insight to those offering, but it was a nice looking bar, and if their other offerings were any indication of how their bar is, I am sure they would be top notch as well. I was pleased with the welcoming and friendly staff, and my thanks to the chef and the kitchen staff for a wonderful meal.
I asked for a water with lemon - I was told they were out of lemons. I wanted to try the Strawberry Lemonade Cocktail - I was told they were "out". I ordered a margarita and when it was brought to me the server apologized for not having Blue Curacao but that it wouldn't change the taste, just the color. The Blue Curacao would affect the taste, but the drink doesn't have Blue Curacao in it! I double checked the ingredients on the menu and sure enough, no Blue Curacao. The food was amazing. Great menu and great food. I had the Portabello Sandwich. The server never asked us if we wanted another drink. I would have gladly bought another $10+ drink. He then came to inform us that they were sending him home because they were overstaffed so he needed to run our cards for the bill. He did say we could stay there for as long as we wanted, but I still would have liked another drink!
1st time eating there , very good meal , not many people there for Saturday night at 8:00. But very cold in the restaurant!!
The food was NOT worth the price! Kettle chips are definately not Lays Classic chips, the waffles in the chicken and waffle app were raw, the broccoli was bland, and the fruit cup consisted of bad dry old fruit. The waitress was more concerned with hanging at the bar with the other employees. As my husband and I attempted to have a nice anniversary dinner, every employee that was hanging out in the kitchen decided to come stare at us while we ate. The only thing that was good about our dining expirence was the view! We came from out of state to have a nice getaway and was drastically let down by the lack of professionalism in this establishment. "Customers" that were at the bar were going into the kitchen, storage area, and behind the bar. Very disappointed!
Great food and reasonable service. Very slow at the restaraunt while we were there. Salmon BLT and fried green tomatoes were excellent.
Food its good, nothing special at least the catfish and the salmon blt. Fried green tomatoes were good. Service was very good and the view is very nice.
