About Brickworks American Bistro + Pizza
Voted “Best Pizza in the Desert” 4 years running,
What makes a great pizza? It starts with a great oven! Ours is an authentic wood- fired masonry oven where the fire has burned constantly since the day we opened. Modern gas and electric ovens cannot produce the intense heat needed - over 700 degrees - to achieve the crispy, smoky crust that our oven provides. With dough made fresh daily in-house, our goal is to make the best pizza in the desert!
In the mood for something a little fancier? Our famous sliders, pan-seared atlantic salmon, 16 oz grilled Rib Eye steak or brickworks fish + chips? Our chef's dishes are simply and classically prepared! You’ll find our appetizers and entrees well seasoned & hearty, never bland. The challenge? Build an interesting restaurant in an expansive second floor space that includes outdoor seating in historic Downtown Palm Springs! The brickworks experience takes place in an engaging atmosphere designed & custom-built.

Brickworks American Bistro + Pizza Ratings and Reviews
It's a fun place, especially if you can snag a table overlooking Palm Canyon, but since new owners took over and although the food selections remain similar, the food is not quite as good and the prices have gone up and the selections have changed and not for the better.
After making the reservation, I called to requested the balcony, they did not guarantee it but said they would note it on the reservation. When we arrived they seated us on the balcony, it was a beautiful evening and everything worked out well. Amber was our gal, she was engaging and provided excellent service. The food was fine, no complaints for anyone.
We sat inside since for a full-time Palm Springs resident, it was still too hot at night. We were far away from most of the diners, so it took a bit for our server to get to us. That was okay. The pizza was really good if you like super thin and pretty crisp! We both do, so a win for us. Fresh toppings and good drinks also added to our experience.
We will return.
We previously loved this when it was the Matchbox. We specifically went for my
husband's birthday so he could order his favorite scallops. That was not on the menu anymore. The fish and chips were not hot. We had to find a waiter to take our order after we sat for
awhile. We will not be returning.
We arrived at 5:30 pm and were seated on the balcony, great view of the street below and people walking...we were offered drinks immediately and the service continued to be great the rest of our meal. Joe was our server, nice guy and excellent waiter, along with a great wait staff. We had occasion to meet one of the cooks who told us he worked there, Juan, and told us to try the restaurant and we couldn't have been happier. We gave straight 5 stars, all in all, very pleased with everything. We will be back soon.
I always book a table through the Open Table app and Brickworks does not specifically allow you to request an outisde table for two, however i do still request in my notes and the restaurant is 90% able to accommodate my request which is very nice and makes me want to always go back for more. I do appreciate their effort and I like their menu options since I am vegetarian, also the waiter or waitress always comes and checks on us. Great place to sit outside on the balcony for two, quiet and private just the way it should be for a dining experience.
The service was great . Very attentive to your needs. The food was unique and delicious .We booked a last minute reservation the afternoon before arrival and was given a beautiful patio seat . It was private and in the best location to see beautiful down town Palm Springs . All of the seating is perfect if you like both inside and outside options . We started with a blueberry lemon drop (bartenders choice ) was absolutely amazing !!!! The banana peach Tini is also a great choice for those who love the fruity martini ! The steak sandwich was cooked to perfection and the onion soup mac n cheese was a delicious spin on mac n cheese !
Will be back here again amazing food , drinks , atmosphere and staff !
This was our first time there and we will definitely go back. The portabello mushrooms were fabulous as was my salmon entree with cauliflower rice and veggies. The wine list was good -and it was 1/2 price wine night so we tried a couple different bottles. Our server was Desiree - and she was very good - and had a fun personality. I recommend the place for sure!
Very very good brick oven fresh pizza
Outstanding salads and great burgers
Sean is a great server but all of the staff are good
Just a very pleasant casual meal
Our out of state guests enjoyed the fish/chips and we were told they returned the following night
The Brickworks had authentic wood oven-baked pizza with both traditional and more creative toppings. They offered dining inside or outside, depending on the temperature (it was over 100 degrees outside when we were there.) I would definitely eat at the Brickworks again. I had the sausage and onion pizza.
Great location in the heart of Palm Springs. We make it a point to stop here overtime we visit the area. Great service and our favorite place for pizza. Balcony patios available but its often too hot to eat outside. Inside decor is very inviting. We love it.
I have been coming to this restaurant for the better part of 10 years - first as Matchbox and now as Brickworks. The main reason for my addiction are the hamburger sliders, excellent beer choices, and amazing shoestring onions!
This was a bad experience for us at Brickworks. First, they sat us next to a party that was so loud and obnoxious, the restaurant should have requested that they calm down. Next, we ordered a salad to arrive as our appetizer, but it never showed up until our entree. We sent it back, but the waiter was not very apologetic, and, typical of waitstaff in this Valley, really did not have the good customer-service attitude of waiters in cities where they actually care about customers. Maybe this place caters to tourists. We are locals, and we won't be back. My pizza was overcooked and undersauced. The caesar salad that my partner got AS HIS ENTREE (not the pre-entree wedge we wanted as a starter) was horribly bland. It's a pity, because our first visit here was so much better. If they'd teach staff the art of customer service and get little things like "salad before entree" correct, we might try again.
The meal was enjoyable. The star of the entire thing was the pizza bread with the incredible garlic butter that comes with it. I wanted to just eat the butter. The beet salad was really tasty. Pizza was good. Had a nice ipa from Great Divide. They had a nice beer selection. Server was nice and helpful. The bussers were very attentive and polite. Will definitely come back and order extra pizza bread.
Looks like they're still trying to find their way through the shadow of Matchbox. We were very well treated and looked after. The food is only slightly different than Matchbox. Not better or worse, just a little different. I like this place and will be back. Highly recommended.
We sat on the patio overlooking the street - beautiful night and the patio was perfect. The bread with garlic butter appetizer was tasty - crust was very good. I added shrimp to the Rosa Rigatoni pasta dish - creamy and delicious. The lemon cheesecake was a little too "lemony" for my taste. The hostess and server were friendly and accommodating. You won't regret dining here.
