Brickworks American Bistro + Pizza
What makes a great pizza? It starts with a great oven! Ours is an authentic wood- fired masonry oven where the fire has burned constantly since the day we opened. Modern gas and electric ovens cannot produce the intense heat needed - over 700 degrees - to achieve the crispy, smoky crust that our oven provides. With dough made fresh daily in-house, our goal is to make the best pizza in the desert!
In the mood for something a little fancier? Our famous sliders, pan-seared atlantic salmon, 16 oz grilled Rib Eye steak or brickworks fish + chips? Our chef's dishes are simply and classically prepared! You’ll find our appetizers and entrees well seasoned & hearty, never bland. The challenge? Build an interesting restaurant in an expansive second floor space that includes outdoor seating in historic Downtown Palm Springs! The brickworks experience takes place in an engaging atmosphere designed & custom-built.
Service was just ok, the server was not especially familiar with the food or drink offerings. Food was fine, but not distinctive. Atmosphere was fairly basic, not special at all. This restaurant may be fine if you just need to grab a bite, but not anything particularly notable. We likely won’t be back; there are so many better options in Palm Springs.
Had great service in the bar area thank you Desiree
Easy menu to just pick fun food
Love the atmosphere. It’s is great to set on the balcony and enjoy the festivities of Palm Springs. The pizza is delicious
Fantastic deep dish pizza is very tasty. Highly recommend the four cheese or pepperoni flavors. Good cocktails. Not inexpensive but worth it!
Just ok - bar ran out of ingredients for margaritas which is pretty sad considering it was Friday night and they were grossly ill prepared
We go to Brickworks’s every week! It’s our favorite restaurant!
Attentive waitress and as usual, great food quality. Best chicken sandwich in the Coachella valley!
Pizza are the worse i have been eating in my life.
Pizza are dry and arrived almost old because the guy has been transmitting wrong information to the kitchen, do waiter was arguing with kitchen, very professional.
We've been here in years past, several times, when we vacation in Palm Springs. The food is decent, but it's the upstairs porch overlooking Palm Canyon that makes this place a good choice.
The pizza was not good. Lacked flavor, over cooked, not good. We looked forward to the brick oven style pizza but were severely disappointed. I had the pesto chicken and my wife had the tomato basil.
Wonderful service and location! Loved the Pear Salad, it was the bomb!!!!
Good food and great service!
Good pizza, great Caesar salad - just needed a little more AC
The food is always good here, unfortunately the service is always so so slow,
I feel they need more servers on for the weekends than they usually have.
The food was great but it was a bad experience. There was a dog under a table next to us that would not stop barking. We were never asked if we wanted to be moved. When I finally asked about the barking I was told “a dog is going to bark” I replied this was a restaurant. At one point the dog came at the server and the other workers. I understand being pet friendly but this was a bit much.
Please do not go to this establishment.
The food was tasteless.
The pizza seemed like it was previously frozen . It has zero taste.
We also ordered a 14 dollar salad that looked and tasted like it came out of a bag.
The kids grilled cheese for 8 dollars was HALF a sandwich (did not say that on menu) for 12 and under. What kid can’t eat a whole sandwich!
ALL of the food took 20 minutes to arrive and then it arrived cold.
The server disappeared and we were literally standing at our table trying to signal anyone for our check.
We all left hungry and disappointed to pay 45.00 for 3 people for food that should have been thrown in the garbage.
This is the first review I have ever left anywhere but felt so strongly that it needs to be put out to the public.
Over all great experience! Incredible location and views, great food and good staff! We will be back!
Good Pizza. Ambience could be updated.
Too pricey for what you get. Disappointed. Service was good though.
Always consistent. One of my favorites.
We had a good server but the food quality was low and the drinks were not made well. We were also sat in a room that was very noisy with a large party. Would not go back or recommend.
The food and ambiance were great! Our sever Desiree was a sweetheart and made sure that all was taken care of for us. The happy hour menu is also really good! I suggest trying the pizza bread!
Amazing food! Loved th balcony tables. Perfect date night dinner.
Did the Happy Hour and enjoyed the selection, the food and the service. Prices were reasonable as well.
I proposed to my now fiance on one of the outdoor balconies. Great, romantic table! The food and service were excellent!
Best pizza we’ve had! Being able to choose half and half was amazing when we couldn’t decide which one we wanted! Desiree was phenomenal and was so helpful with recommendations on things to do in Palm Springs! Thanks for making the night so great!
The food was decent. I was a little surprised at the portions and quality based on the price. In all fairness we didn’t try the pizza or pasta so might have been a different experience if we had. Service was a little slow but everyone was friendly and attentive.
Pizzas were dried out. Bathrooms filthy. Never again.
Food was absolutely delicious as it always is,
The service was not as good tonight as I think they were under staffed
Always consistent. Good food and good service.
Nice place we had a pizza. It was good not the best ever.
I would go back and try something else.
This second story location is pleasant for outdoor dining. Lunch was not crowded and the service was great. They make their own pizza's by hand. The burgers were splendid and juicy.
Hard to understand the positive reviews. The food was completely unremarkable. Was not any better quality than your average fast food restaurant- in fact, less quality really. Service was ok. Restaurant atmosphere tired and not well kept. Specialty drinks tasted like medicine. Safe to say, I’d never go back and would love to have my time and money back. I’d skip it - there are many other really wonderful places in PS.
We ordered two pizzas and a pasta dish. The pizzas both had chicken and they had no flavor at all. Like eating cardboard.
We had made a reservation days in advance and were put in the back, near the kitchen, and we were facing the soda dispenser at the drink station that the employees get beverages for the customers. There were plenty of tables throughout the restaurant, so not sure why we were placed back there.
There are so many places to eat in Palm Springs. Skip this one.
Great wine and beer, delicious and well-cooked pizza, fun atmosphere. We were seated on the balcony near the bar, in the back, overlooking the hills. Quieter than the front balcony, as the Thursday Night Market was in full-swing. Our server, Desiree, was fabulous. Attentive and friendly, even though the restaurant was very busy. The pizzas were so good! Interesting flavor combinations done very well.
Brickworks took over from the old Matchbox and for a time held to Matchbox's high standard. Lately, though, the food has become generally mediocre. The pizza, once an excellent item thanks in no small part to the brick oven, is less and less flavorful, particularly the crust that had been can't-miss, and the toppings don't seem as fresh. On a positive note, the red sangria is still excellent.
Brickworks plays background music far too loud. On two of our 4 visits we needed to ask the waiter to have it lowered. We were grateful that they had it lowered
More importantly, better lighting is needed on the stairways. On our last visit my wife fell down the upper stairway on the way out. Fortunately she suffered only minor bruises. On the previous visit she stumbled but did not fall on a lower stairway.
Server must have forgotten about us. The private balcony made up for the service.
Party like atmosphere overlooking Palm Canyon Dr.
Decent flat breads and friendly service.
Waitress McKenna we had was understaffed for how busy it was. Food was good. Ok over all
