Brickside Grille Ratings and Reviews
My turkey sandwich was fairly good, sweet potato fries were delicious. My husband was disappointed with his chicken sandwich since the roll was very hard and the chicken was dry. Even though there weren't many people eating while we were there service was slow, yet the server/bar tender was extremely pleasant.
Overall, Brickside is a very good restaurant, however, on New Year's Eve, they were overwhelmed. The wait staff was inundated, and our waitress decided not to even venture towards our table. We almost walked out had it not been for the waiter, Dave. Thank you Dave for waiting on us and giving us exceptional service (we appreciated it).
Made a reservation through open table for Christmas Eve. Was not aware it was a buffet. The food was cold and there were not many selections to choose from, and frankly the food was not good. The mashed potatoes were cold and dry with no flavor, to name one example. The dessert was a chocolate fountain bar with pretzel sticks, donut holes, strawberries and rice krispy treats. I paid $28 a person for this dessert option?! The waitress only came to our table once for a drink order and my husband asked her to come back in a few minutes because he wasn't sure what he wanted to drink yet and she never came back. She only came back to our table when we had to tag-team her down. The atmosphere was so bright as if I was at a neighborhood diner but with elegant price tag to pay for dinner.
Brickside Grille is usually a great place for dinner or even lunch. It was disappointing for Christmas Eve. The food was not up to it's usual par. My husband commented he thought the chef must have had the night off. We have had dinner there many times and it is usually great. The buffet for Christmas Eve was disappointing and expensive.
When here to have a nice meal and listen to some live music. Started with the shellfish starters and some potato skins which were very good and two people had a pizza two of us had paella and someone had a sandwich. Everything was good. This restaurant is always a great option for live music. One of the few around that has that often
Waitress completely incorrectly described a dish, couldn’t handle a special request, forgot to bring back the doggie bag for half of a very expensive meal. She was extremely slow even after we said no to dessert it took a long time to get our check. Pork chops were very dry along with the rice. Burger was pretty small. We used to love this place but the last several times it has been disappointing.
The brunch buffet was not well maintained, most stations were empty and refills took a while. The smoked salmon was bad, fishy and not very smoked, very raw. The man making frittatas wasn’t wearing gloves of any kind. Extremely loud in the place had to yell to hear each other at a booth. Overall not a great brunch experience, many better places locally to go.
We have been here many times before and were attracted to what we perceived as a new menu at least to us. However, while the service was fantastic and the menu intriguing the food was rather pedestrian.
We will go back for the Sunday Brunch and the Roast Beef Nites. This wasn't the experience we were used to at the Brickside.
Decided on the Brickside Grille for a post Thanksgiving brunch with family. It was, ok. Brunch options were good, but you cold tell they were short staffed. Many of the items on the brunch were “empty plate”, needed to be refilled or wiped down. An example was the shrimp were no longer “on ice”, but in a pool of water. Yuck. It was ok, not the “wow” I anticipated.
Lobster Bisque was anything but, it arrived luke warm, a very odd brown color which mirrored the taste, burnt, no hint of lobster and an after taste of flour. Don't waste your money on the fried oyster appetizer either, 4 less than quarter sized for the price definitely not worth the money.
The waitress was very nice and the service was good. The buffalo shrimp appetizer was tasty but the clam chowder was more like potato soup—where were the clams? My husband’s prime rib was decent but it was hard to discern the crab in the crab Louis salad, although the dressing was good.
No acknowlgment of my wife's birthday, although I noted it in the reservation. Poor service, we repeatedly had to try to flag down the waiter who managed to avoid us verbally calling her as well as signaling when she was in the area. Food came out in a strange order. Prime rib was OK, but not the kind of cut you'd expect for the price. Dessert was very good.
We've been here before, but this was definitely a step down from prior experiences.
Brickside was festive, the service was friendly, and the food was decent. Their oyster bar featured a nice variety of fresh, delicious oysters! I also had a delicious Romaine wedge with house-made bleu cheese: the lettuce was crisp and fresh, and the salad was very nice. The Filet is great with the optional addition of lump crab meat to the Bearnaise. All in all, a very nice evening!
Brickside is a "go to" restaurant in the area. With all of the new restaurants in Eagleview Brickside still provides the best combination of food, service and value. This time we arrived early and took full advantage of the early bird food and drink menu which is a great deal!
