Like most restaurants, due to the pandemic, the menu choices were limited. We miss our favorite entrees that are no longer available. Ordered fish and chips, delicious but only 2 small pieces of fish. Waiter cleared my plate, without asking, I hadn't finished eating.
We had the wonderful experience of al fresco dining on a beautiful summer evening with a talented guitar player providing entertainment. The service was accommodating of our desire to enjoy our drinks and dinner was very good.
We usually love Brickside but we had a horrible experience. The waitress was rude, forgot many things, and we waited over an hour for our food with no apology or explanation. Food came cold and simple requests like ketchup and a coffee were ignored. Honestly felt like she didn’t want to be there and didn’t want us there. So disappointing for a normally good restaurant.
Friday night late and they still had prime rib, yeah!! But no baked potato…. Service was good and attentive. Food was good and the Cioppino was piping hot and good!
Good service and overall good food. But DO NOT let your kids get the chicken fingers. We’ve had them twice now and both times they were batter with batter that should be on fish and are very thin and over cooked. Neither of my kids would eat them and they aren’t picky eaters.
The prime rib is amazing and other dishes are good too!
We were celebrating our 50th anniversary and wanted a dining experience that had good food and something different from most of the local restaurants. Their seafood bar contained many delicious items that satisfied my husband’s taste. I loved their Hummus appetizer which was large enough to share ( but didn’t). Dinner was fresh and delicious. Service was good but not overpowering which allowed us to enjoy our meal. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who wanted a delicious meal.
Our family of four went for the oyster specials and we thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Our teen and tween kids found other things to eat which they also enjoyed. The cocktails and beer selection made for a special treat too!
This was a first time for us, meeting with friends. My son recommended it, and I must say it was lovely1 A gem located in a Community, I would definitely recommend this place. Appetizers of Oyster Rockefeller, Lobster Bisque, wonderful salads - I had the Pear, one friend the Blackened chicken, the other enjoyed the Nachos - and took some home it was so generous.
Excellent overall experience.
The owners / managers were very accommodating when we showed up for our reservation but I left my wallet at home. Thanks - Lou & Pam.
We always love brickside. Food was great. Music was great but a little loud outside but wonderful
Alwaus a great experience!
Everything was excellent except the service. Seems the hostess did not tell the server or the wrong server was notified but whatever happened… we sat for 10 minutes before we were greeted by the server.
We went for buck a shuck oyster night at 630. After waiting 15 minutes to order a drink at our table, I finally went to the bar my self. 2 of the drafts were kicked. They were out of 1/2 of the oyster selections. It was only 630, how can you be out on buck a shuck night so early. Did you really plan or did you want to limit your sales on cheap oysters hoping we would buy something else? The rest of the evening was poor, slow service. If you are short staffed then don’t fill all the tables. Provide good service for those you do seat not poor service for more.
We have been to brickside many times and truly enjoy the food and specials. Unfortunately this past time we had sub-par service which truly changes the whole experience for us. Our server was nice, but seemed weeded by missing our drinks, not taking our order or checking in late etc. Having a one year, we try to appease her first so she can sit longer lol, when service is behind and missing our food etc had us up and about. So a 2hr dining experience with a toddler is not my idea of a good time, and wish service was just a tad bit more put together.
Yesterday, my friends and I decided to enjoy some peanut butter pie at Brickside Grille. Our server was very personable telling us that there isn't another place in the vicinity that has a pie similar to this and it's one of the best desserts on the menu. I agreed with her. She also gave us some great recommendations for other food choices when we return. As always, the pie was a great treat and my friends couldn't believe that I ate the whole thing. Granted that was my dinner.
Really cool restaurant in a very remote part of Exton, being next to the aquarium was an added bonus! Food and Service was great!
Went in as a party of 12. Had one server for our group. He did a wonderful job. No complaints at all. Food was very good. Prices are comparable to other restaurants like this. Will definitely go back.
Brickside is our place for breakfast lunch and dinner. Always delicious! The servers and hostesses are wonderful and very friendly. The restaurant is very open and airy inside. Also has a very large outdoor seating area.
We love coming to the Brickside Grille!
We are never disappointed dining here. Great spacious outdoor space. Fantastic wait staff. Large varied menu. Highly recommend.
Food and service were great! We sat outside and the ambiance was wonderful- loved the live music! Highly recommend. Will definitely go again.
Awesome evening with great food, service, and live music.
Great restaurant, food and servers are so nice!
We go to the Brickside regularly. I love the lobster roll. This visit was a miss. The fries were stale and hard and my spouse ordered a hot sliced roast beef that was not hot and was the size of a slider. It could have used au jus or something. My drink was good, service was good, and the renovations look really nice. I think the food running may be off here due to staffing challenges because this is the 2nd time stuff has come out cold in our recent visits. This would not stop me from checking out the place however there is room for improvement.
Overall everything was ok but not exciting very blah….server was good food was boring my burger was dry and too big fur the bun.
Well done Like the new paint job
We last were at Brickside several years ago. Decided to try it out again for date night and was very disappointed. The food was just not good - the servers were very friendly but that couldn’t make up for how bad the food was. Clams were sitting in water rather than on top of ice, the lobster bisque was watery and lacked flavor. The French fries arrived cold and hard - you could tell they’d been sitting for quite a while. All in all, it was not a good experience.
Enjoyed our dinner. Service was very good. Food choices are reasonable and food is always consistent. Musician was a tad too lad. But shame on me as I req table in “bar area”. I believe music would have been outside if not for inclement weather. Our friends are from Ephrata and enjoyed their visit.
Great vibe for a Sunday afternoon. Acoustic music outside was exactly what we needed before calling a lid on the weekend.
Very good food. Service was friendly and very nice. Can’t wait to go back.
Setting was lovely and food (brunch) was good. We ate on the patio and listened to a musician while we dined. Our server was named Kerry and she was charming. This is the "middle" to meet friends who live in Harrisburg and my husband and I who live in New Jersey. We will definitely meet them there again in the future.
For the price the food was just okay. Lobster was too salty and portions small.
Had a great date night out for oysterfest. Food and drinks were good and service was great! We love coming here!
Great experience...had a reservation, seated right away. Good food and drinks, waiter was awesome, very personable!
The oysters were great and we love the outside seating. There was a minor mix up with server assignments, but once that was acknowledged we were well taken care of for the rest of the night. We will likely return before they roll up the sidewalk for the season.
Excellent Oyster night
Server Dave was great as always. We were sitting too close to the singer to talk once he started.
Had oysters and steak frites. One of the oysters had a pea crab, which is not a big deal but still somewhat unappetizing. I asked for salty oysters - they were very sweet. A description on the menu would probably be best since the place is busy and service staff may not know.
My steak was not seasoned other than the chimichurri sauce on part of it. No salt was used during cooking. It was very much overdone as well from what I requested. Not worth $29.
We waited 30 min just to get our drinks but It is a lovely spot to eat outside, the night music entertainment was nice so that was not that big of a deal.
Overall I would not recommend the food at all. Very subpar and overpriced for the quality.
Our server however was very kind.
We went for the buck a shuck special and the guys I were with loved it. I had the Crab Louis Salad which I’ve had before, delicious. In addition to the oysters one had the crabcake sandwich and the other the swordfish tacos and everything was very good. The place was very busy, and our waitress still remained attentive. Brickside is an old favorite for us, and still does not disappoint, we will go back! The other highlight was the bourbon mule, it always came out a little different, but was always good.
