We were in a bit of a rush or we would have tried more things on the menu. Good food, very courteous service. Comfortable booth. Would go again.

Our second visit here. Food and service excellent! We'll be back!

We were looking for a good Indian restaurant with creative cuisine using traditional spices, etc. This was not it. The dishes were drowning in tomato based sauce and the spices were Indistinguishable. A drunken patron at the bar was loud and obnoxious, and was allowed to stay (and continue to drink) even though he was disruptive to other diners. We were forced to make a late reservation because availability, but upon arrival 15 minutes early found the restaurant mostly empty.

This was our first time at this restaurant. I ordered a curry dish and my friend ordered the Gobi dish. We both had brown rice. The food was delicious, the service was very good and we will definitely return when we're next in the neighborhood.

Service/waiter was disinterested. I paid $50 for average food and service that was non-existent. I wasn't expecting authentic Indian cuisine, but, a bit of effort would have been nice. And then of course I felt forced to leave a tip because I didn't want to come across as rude.

The cheap $4 pizza would have been a better choice.

We have been wanting to visit here for a long time.
The food and service were top notch. Honestly the best Indian curries that we have had. We also tried the phall! We didn't do the challenge but just ordered one for the table. It was hot as blazes but worth a try . Can't wait to dine here again.

Went here on Xmas Eve. Seemed a little out of the way as a tourist staying in midtown... but was well worth the journey. Greeted cordially and given nice table. Menu contained nice variety of indian dishes. Against the advice of the staff, I opted for the infamous Phaal curry; both my wife and I are BIG curry buffs, and typically find it very hard to get our food served spicy enough. The Phaal is HOT. It beat me hands down. Had to stop about half way through, and settle my mouth with raita. Ordered a spicy madras afterward, which was delicious, though clearly not in the same league as the Phaal. In all we had 3 dishes; 2 with lamb which was beautifully cooked. We also ordered a paneer kulcha which was delicious, and had abundant paneer.
Staff were extremely attentive, and as a delightful surprise, they brought us a dessert to share as an anniversary gift (on the house). Highly recommend this place. Would advise against the Phaal.

We had a fantastic dinner -- we tried so many different dishes and one was better than the next. We picked this restaurant based on other OpenTable recommendations. We enjoyed Potato Samosa, Onion Kulcha, Garlic Naan, Chicken Tikka, Saag Paneer (best I think I've ever had!), Aloo Gobi, and Chicken Korma. We only had leftovers because we overordered for three people -- the leftovers were delicious! We will definitely be back again soon.

Brick Lane may be pricier than the other Indian restaurants on 6th st, but hands down the food quality is outstanding and the portions large enough to fill you stomach and still have a take home bag. I've been eating at this restaurant since it opened. This is without a doubt the best Indian restaurant in town!

Ridiculously overpriced and super super slow service. Hey charged $5 for barely half a cup of cooked rice to go with an entree that at every single Indian, Asian, basically any place that serves rice - would give you included with the entree. Even if you need to order side, I have gotten rice for 2-3 for 4 times as big of a portion at even nicer restaurants

The food for the lunch buffet varies greatly. I got chicken briyani once and they didn't have it on this occasion. It also took a while to get the drinks and more naan even though there was only one other seated table in the entire restaurant

I went to this restaurant for a very specific reason, they make a Phal Curry, Now please note that I have eaten this meal in three other restaurants , in three different countries .
It is a very, very spicy meal that most people cannot eat but comes with wonderful flavours
Needless to say the Brick Lane decided to make one that is totally inedible by way of spice and pride themselves that its inedible. Thats no way to treat such a wonderful dish and a great dissapointment
the other meals were ok

Went to Brick Lane Curry House this week with two young women friends. We had a delightful, non-rushed dinner with drinks. We ordered a few vegetarian options that were all delicious (saag paneer, tikka masala, onion fritters, cauliflower appetizer, plain nan). Each dish was tasty and satisfying. The servers were warm, patient, and fun. Highly recommend.

Love this restaurant! They used to be located on 6th street so the new address on 2nd Avenue right around the corner can be confusing. We went for my birthday dinner and the food is authentic and excellent - everything was perfection. At the end of the meal, they brought over a bottle of champagne on the house for my birthday. What a fabulous place and service was excellent. The best Indian food in NYC.

some of the best Indian food in the USA. Had lamb vindaloo which was spicy and hot as it should be, but still very tasty. Did not go for the Phaal. One of these days, maybe I'll try it. But if the chef needs a gas mask to make it, then maybe I'll just enjoy the vindaloo.

This restaurant is overpriced and the food is scarce & mediocre. Even cheap with the tamarind and green sauce/chickpea flats; we had to ask for 3 refills. The onion bhaji appetizer; so dry & tough I could barely cut through it with a knife. The methi salmon was supposed to be "lightly' marinated"; so salty/spiced it tasted like mud, we had to send it back. (They said it was marinated overnight; which is hardly "lightly marinated".) Both dishes had identical cheap iceberg lettuce and a thin carrot spiral tossed on them. The vegetable moilee had about 6 pieces of cubed veggies. What a rip-off. The service was good, but the food was so bad we will not go back. Go elsewhere for good Indian food.
