This was our first time at this restaurant. I ordered a curry dish and my friend ordered the Gobi dish. We both had brown rice. The food was delicious, the service was very good and we will definitely return when we're next in the neighborhood.
The food was great and filling, service was prompt, and ambiance couldn't have been better.
Friendly, helpful service; delicious food with plenty of vegan/vegetarian options. Great spot for a family get-together.
I definitely recommend this place. We had Lassuni Gobi, Methi Salmon and Lamb Korma. All delicious snd reasonably priced.
It was alright but the food wasn't outstanding. Great for a late night Indian food craving. Good naan and good service.
Service/waiter was disinterested. I paid $50 for average food and service that was non-existent. I wasn't expecting authentic Indian cuisine, but, a bit of effort would have been nice. And then of course I felt forced to leave a tip because I didn't want to come across as rude.
The cheap $4 pizza would have been a better choice.
Cool! Food was great and adorable. Service was okay.
We have been wanting to visit here for a long time.
The food and service were top notch. Honestly the best Indian curries that we have had. We also tried the phall! We didn't do the challenge but just ordered one for the table. It was hot as blazes but worth a try . Can't wait to dine here again.
Great little curry house.. worth a visit and do the Phal challenge if you’re feeling brave..!!
Went here on Xmas Eve. Seemed a little out of the way as a tourist staying in midtown... but was well worth the journey. Greeted cordially and given nice table. Menu contained nice variety of indian dishes. Against the advice of the staff, I opted for the infamous Phaal curry; both my wife and I are BIG curry buffs, and typically find it very hard to get our food served spicy enough. The Phaal is HOT. It beat me hands down. Had to stop about half way through, and settle my mouth with raita. Ordered a spicy madras afterward, which was delicious, though clearly not in the same league as the Phaal. In all we had 3 dishes; 2 with lamb which was beautifully cooked. We also ordered a paneer kulcha which was delicious, and had abundant paneer.
Staff were extremely attentive, and as a delightful surprise, they brought us a dessert to share as an anniversary gift (on the house). Highly recommend this place. Would advise against the Phaal.
Noise level was a bit too high but overall a great place
Excellent. Service was slow, but not bad. Food was amazing. Shrimp moilee is the best curry I have ever had. I wish I lived in Manhattan so I could go more.
Great service. Food is fantastic. When back in NYC, always try to dine here.
We had a fantastic dinner -- we tried so many different dishes and one was better than the next. We picked this restaurant based on other OpenTable recommendations. We enjoyed Potato Samosa, Onion Kulcha, Garlic Naan, Chicken Tikka, Saag Paneer (best I think I've ever had!), Aloo Gobi, and Chicken Korma. We only had leftovers because we overordered for three people -- the leftovers were delicious! We will definitely be back again soon.
The food is delicious, but the service needs some work. Some of the waitstaff was rude and inattentive and the food took way too long to come out and the place wasn’t even that busy
The service was slow and it appeared that some of the drinks had been watered down.
Brick Lane may be pricier than the other Indian restaurants on 6th st, but hands down the food quality is outstanding and the portions large enough to fill you stomach and still have a take home bag. I've been eating at this restaurant since it opened. This is without a doubt the best Indian restaurant in town!
Always a great meal. Hostes remembered us and our drinks. Great food and lots of options with mild to spicy.
Always a favorite for Indian food lovers. Brought in some "newbies" who are now fans. Service is very courteous and very fast as well. A good time was had by all.
Ridiculously overpriced and super super slow service. Hey charged $5 for barely half a cup of cooked rice to go with an entree that at every single Indian, Asian, basically any place that serves rice - would give you included with the entree. Even if you need to order side, I have gotten rice for 2-3 for 4 times as big of a portion at even nicer restaurants
The food for the lunch buffet varies greatly. I got chicken briyani once and they didn't have it on this occasion. It also took a while to get the drinks and more naan even though there was only one other seated table in the entire restaurant
Food quality was great. Venue lacks charm although it is nice enough of a space. Clean, large, nice bar area...just lacks personality.
The drink cocktails are the best on the menu, there are really good drink options.
I would like to thank Frank, our bartender, for accommodating my friend Karen & creating a new drink for her! Our server Hummel was wonderful & very considerate. An excellent night of delicious dining was had! Will come again!
Brick Lane Curry House is great food, great drinks at a great value. Authentic curry and spiced dishes, very flavorful. Can be spicy. Liked it so much, took some home for the next day.
I went to this restaurant for a very specific reason, they make a Phal Curry, Now please note that I have eaten this meal in three other restaurants , in three different countries .
It is a very, very spicy meal that most people cannot eat but comes with wonderful flavours
Needless to say the Brick Lane decided to make one that is totally inedible by way of spice and pride themselves that its inedible. Thats no way to treat such a wonderful dish and a great dissapointment
the other meals were ok
Went to Brick Lane Curry House this week with two young women friends. We had a delightful, non-rushed dinner with drinks. We ordered a few vegetarian options that were all delicious (saag paneer, tikka masala, onion fritters, cauliflower appetizer, plain nan). Each dish was tasty and satisfying. The servers were warm, patient, and fun. Highly recommend.
The cuisine and the service were excellent. Except for several noisy tables which often made it difficult for me to hear my date, I thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant, and would certainly recommend it, and return to it.
The phaal is insanely hot; I eat ghost peppers regularly and this was too much for me. Great naan and other chicken dishes.
Visiting New York and wanted to visit were man v food guy ate the phaal unfortunately pics are only online now but food was very nice and service was good
