Brick House Tavern + Tap - San Antonio
Great service but the steak didn’t have flavor
Good quick dinner option.
We went in to watch the Vikings game at halftime. We tried ordering mimosa's and were told they were out of ? We tried to order another drink, told they were out. Asked to speak to a manager - who was less than helpful. He wouldn't bend 1 bit to offer another option to us at a similar or discounted price. We were ready to leave and another manager came over at the waitresses request. She was wonderful - listened, offered a solution, thanked us for coming in, etc. She turned our whole experience around - and again, our waitress was awesome. We ordered food, drinks, and finished watching the game. If we're back in your area, we'll probably stop in again.
Food and drinks were great service was very slow
We ordered an appetizer, the Sampler. It looked great on the menu. 30 minutes after we ordered it a server, not ours, stopped to "double check" which one we ordered. 15 minutes later, our dinner shows up...no appetizer, so we cancelled it. No visit with an apology from the manager, just excuses about shorthandedness from the waiter. My burger was fantastic and my husband's cheesesteak was great. My daughter's mac and cheeseburger was a disappointment. I'm willing to give it another chance, but the food is too pricey for excuses.
The salmon on the new menu was terrible. It doesn't taste as good as the salmon on the old menu. It also came out raw in the center twice.
The food was tasty, but they got one order wrong . They did correct it but my husband had already eaten most of his “farmhouse” burger. Farmhouse supposedly had an egg & bacon but they forgot the egg & bacon!
We had a great time! The service was great even with a large private event going on, the manager made sure the game we were wanting to watch was on and in front of us without us even having to ask and it was a great value for our drinks!
Got together with my college alumni club to watch the Saturday afternoon football game. We have been to Brick House Tavern numerous times for both football and basketball games. We always get a reserved table with great TV views of the game. The food and beverage service is awesome, the wait staff are always helpful and attentive, and they are very accommodating when wwe have a few extra attendees. This is our go-to place to watch college sports.
The Brick House Tavern was my go to place, the food is always excellent. However the last several times we have gone there we were fighting the fruit flies off & the service has really gone downhill. I took my friend there on Friday and our services was extremely bad. I'm not sure if we will go back! :(
The Sunday brunch was awesome! Good amount of food too. The mimosas and coffee were also delicious. The stuff we got off the regular menu was so good too. The staff was friendly and helpful. An overall fantastic experience.
My husband & I just wanted to grab a late brunch. Everything was very good & the ambiance was outstanding. Only one problem we had was with the gnats & That was very annoying.
Excellent service and delicious meals!!
My family and I had reservations but were not needed since the weather was terrible. We showed up completely soaked from the heavy rain, but we were immediately made welcome by the staff. The service was exceptional as was the food. We will certainly be back.
Would not go back, ever.
Hostess was rude, but aside from that every thing else was nice especially the food.
Ashley provided great service and food and drink were delicious.
This was the first time I had been to Brick House Tavern and I was there when it opened for the day on a Sunday. I had heard the Brunch Menu was excellent, so I wanted to try it out. The service and food were outstanding. It was a very enjoyable Brunch. I plan on coming back, only this time I want to try the Dinner Menu.
Service seemed inexperienced
Kevin and D were the bartenders on duty that day...AWESOME!! Food is good but tastes better with that kind of service!
Great food, shaky waitstaff. Made reservations but only had a mediocre table reserved.
There was no parking and the restaurant was only 75% full. We drove around the parking lot three times and then parked in a space in the corner. It took quite a while to be waited on, the hostess seated us for 6 people when there was just my date and me and the waiter kept asking us if we had a nice day. We would have preferred, quicker service and the food coming out promptly. The ice water tasted so bad that we asked for bottled water.
This is a great venue for getting together with friends (in this case, University of North Carolina alumni) to watch a great basketball game. This is a regular meeting place for us and its March Madness time. It is great to be able to book a group table online with Open Table, and the staff always reserves us a table with great TV view for all of our group. The manager in charge of the TV setup always takes care to make sure our game is on the right screens for us. And the wait staff always take care of all of our food and beverage needs with seperate checks for everyone.
We decided to try their brunch...huge mistake! I got the French toast - I couldn’t even eat 1/4 of it. It was soggy, not cooked all the way, just gross.
My husband said his meal was ok, just no flavor.
Needless to say, they are good for lunch & dinner...not brunch. This won’t happen again.
The food was great as usual. Our server wasn't very attentive however this is rare for this restaurant
Great venue to gather to watch your favorite sports event. In our case, it was a great college basketball game with our alumni. The facilities are great, the food and service are awesome, and the staff are really supportive of groups like ours. We are regulars and love it!
This was my second visit to San Antonio and my second time at Brick House, so it left an impression. Food was good both times, and good service. Enjoyed the atmosphere!
I was really underwhelmed by my experience here. First off, the restaurant overbooked and our reservation conflicted with another. So they did not have a table for us, even after reserving days in advance. They tried to stick us in a tiny booth, which The six of us did not fit. Halfway through our meal, we ended up moving to another table that opened up.
We ordered drinks, which took about 25 minutes to get out each time we ordered. The food was not very good either. We started with the meatballs and calamari, neither of which were bad, but they weren’t good either. I ordered the chicken and waffles for my entrée, the pieces of chicken were very small and very, very dry—the waffle was good though. Everyone else had issues with their food too—ex. the gravy with the chicken fried steak tasted awful and ruined the whole dish. It just wasn’t what we expected based off of the menu. Maybe it was the chef that night, but I’m not sure if I would go here again based on my experience
All good - just a bit noisy
Nice place, food wasn’t the best.
Food was excellent, service was bothersome, too many families w/children around us as this was a special occasion we were disappointed, but again the food was great especially the steak
Absolutely wonderful find for my family! Great service, ambiance and food selection! I will definitely frequent this establishment!
Great food and service as usual, the food is always cooked to ordered and delicious
DATE NIGHT 💑
Staff did their best being short handed and long shifts. Bathrooms were very messy however and needed cleaning. Food was excellent as always w generous portions. Our waiter was great despite all his tables !
Holiday drinks no bueno
It was a destination Thanksgiving dinner & worked out well!
Things got off to a bad start when the restaurant did not have my reservation which I booked on Open Table. The person who answered the phone, when I called in advance to check on my reservation, told me they did not have my reservation and that they would not even be open at the time I booked. What's up with that? The times on the front door indicated that the restaurant would be open at the time I booked.
Our Server was very good, attentive and helpful.
The music was too loud and not appropriate for an early lunch on Thanksgiving day. The music made it hard for us to have a conversation. (We didn't mind all of the TVs. Sometimes we looked up to check on games and events we were interested in.)
