   The salmon was wonderful. Service was very attentive and took care of any need. The smoked Old Fashioned was incredible.

   We love the atmosphere and service at brick and brine. You can count on prompt service, good cocktails and delicious food that isn’t over salted and buttered. Their menu changes seasonally but the scallops and steak are always great choices. Meatball appetizer is our favorite.

   Our waitress was excellent and personable — a little over the top so. The atmosphere was a mixed bag. Some parts of the restaurant were stylish but where we sat felt like a nice hotel lobby. I ordered the special on our waitress's recommendation — Ahi Tuna over squid ink noodles. To say it was bland would be an understatement. I would have been disappointed if it had cost 1/10th as much as it did. My wife ordered scallops which were much better than my meal but nothing to write home about. There was live music, which was nice, but it was too loud to carry on a conversation. Fun to check out once but probably wouldn't go back.

    It was my first visit to Brick and Brine. The atmosphere is lovely-new and fresh. Our waiter and all of the staff we encountered were so attenitve. The food was wonderful and my Cosmos too. We were celebrating a birthday and were surprised with a candle lit birthday surprise brownie and ice cream.

    I think my only complaint was how the food was staggered. Our reso was at 6:30 and we did not leave until 8:30. The food was spread out way too long (we ordered almost immediately after being sat) and it just felt weird.

    Everything from the moment we walked in was fantastic. The staff is friendly and professional. The food and craft cocktails are amazing. We had lamb ragu, the tomahawk steak for 2(medium rare perfection), onion rings, and baked Alaska. (Love food on fire!!) Felicity was the best! This was my teenage son's 1st real fine dining experience and he loved it!

    Went here for a nice romantic night out and was not disappointed! The appetizer, meal and cocktails were all wonderful. Our server, Hazel was amazing! Very friendly and helpful. They also had great live music for a portion of our evening that was really nice!

    My friend and I knew what we were going into. We had seen the restaurant, perused the menus, planned the night out. We had a firm level of expectations. Brick and Brine surprised both of us. The restaurant and staff made every effort to excel past our first impressions and provide an experience that you tend to find in cities like Los Angeles, New York, Miami, or Chicago. The food was wonderful, the drinks were fun, and delicious. Our server, Hazel, brought an energy to every encounter that had us prepared to be wowed. She knew trivia about ingredients that went into drinks, and guided us through the menus like she had arranged the night for us all on her own. The night would have been lacking if not for her infectious personality. It's something truly magical when you can look back on the previous night, and say that everything was incredible. It's rare to have experiences like that, especially in a city that people not in the know, often believe is made up. Should we be treating Kalamazoo in such regard as places like LA, or NYC when it comes to the dining experience? After leaving Brick and Brine last night, yes, we should.

    I have never ate at an establishment and thought about writing a review, good or bad. Brick and Brine made me want to kiss the cooks that made our dishes and shake the hands of the owners! I travel for work and have ate in some of the best restaurants but, this place….blows everywhere else out of the water! The minute we walked in the hostesses were friendly, recommending what they love on the menu, and honestly they seemed genuinely happy to be at work. From the food to the environment and the employees everything was spot on. Better yet this was a busy Friday night when we visited and everyone was calm and collected in the kitchen, which you have a great view of! When have you ever been to a restaurant and experienced everything so smooth. Ever looked at a kitchen from a restaurant you have visited normally it’s chaotic and a mess. You will mot find this at Brick and Brine! Thank you to our waitress Erika! She is fantastic! But the food…is something else! There were so many layers of flavor in each dish we tried and it was cooked perfectly! Thank you Brick and Brine employees! We will be back!

    All the food here is spectacular! Plus, the ambience, the drinks, the service - are the best of Kalamazoo restaurants. This is my first choice for local fine dining.

    The Brick and Brine drink & dinner menus have something for everyone and the service is excellent. The prices are a bit steep $65 for a filet & $75 for a ribeye with no accompaniment is excessive- this is not Ruth Chris’s quality. That being said the steaks were good but not great. One person at our house able has fried chicken- it’s a huge portion but the chicken was dry. The brussel sprout side was fantastic. If I went here again I would get a burger and a specialty cocktail instead.

    I had the lamb osso bucco, which was excellent. My partner had the salmon, which she enjoyed. We shared the excellent baked Alaska. Service was great.

    Delaney was a fabulous server! Attentive, fun, and very knowledgeable about the offerings, especially for restaurant week (which was impressive because it was the first day). She recommended and I tried the restaurant week cocktail (yum!!!) and one of the restaurant week appetizers - the salmon belly "fries". TO. DIE. FOR. Seriously, so good!!! I am not usually a fan of salmon but Delaney convinced me and I can't wait to return to have them again. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Five stars all-around.

    From the friendly and knowledgeable staff and great service, to the wonderful food and drink, this restaurant should definitely be on your list. It's a bit pricey, but it is a high-end restaurant... and definitely worth it. Get this drink if you like gin - The Last Waltz - it's so good! And the whipped feta appetizer is to die for. Fabulous restaurant - take your significant other there for your next date night. You won't be sorry! Tip: park in the hotel ramp - they validate parking.

    Excellent place -- our new fave in Kalamazoo! Went for a Valentine's date. Super impressed with the food + service, chill vibe (not pretentious at ALL), family-friendly atmosphere that still felt intimate and cozy, and the no-rush attitude soon as we sat down. Plenty of seating, but reservations on special dates (holidays, etc.) a must. Definitely will go again!

    The food and service were outstanding, it was busy on a Wednesday evening. Would return. The only off putting thing was the music, it was like 90’s rock maybe? Heavy metal? It sounded like maybe the cleaning crew had been jamming out and the station didn’t get turned back before service. I cannot imagine this choice being intentional. Otherwise great!

    We had wonderful service and a great time celebrating. We were fortunate enough to have two waitresses as one, Bre, was in training. Our other waitress Ash, was also just as amazing. Bre was phenomenal! She was very attentive to our table and knowledgeable about the menu as well which made it helpful when I was still deciding what I wanted to eat! She always made sure that we were happy with everything that came to our table. Ash was again amazing as well. She was also just as attentive and letting Bre really take the ropes, which she really was! This was our second time coming here and the food was also just as great! The kitchen cooked both my steak perfectly to my liking and nailed my boyfriends steak as well! We have only had great service and amazing food and drinks since coming here and we will continue to come in!
