If you are looking for a neighborhood pub with honest food at an honest price, you can't go wrong here. Friendly staff.
It's like a local pub, we had the Flavor Palm Beach menu. I started with a Scotch egg, then had the wiener schnitzel following by a brownie. Food was good, they have a nice bar area.
Food was excellent! Loved the live music! We will be back again!
We went to this restaurant because it was on the Flavors of Palm Beach list. They have a very extensive liquor selection, and many specialty drinks. It seemed to be a neighborhood place. People with their kids, people coming in before the movies, dating people. Very casual, but a little loud for our taste. The food was VERY good. Seemed like everyone around us got a hamburger-so I think I would order that next timid. Small selection for dessert, but I had a dessert cocktail! We would come back if we were in the area.
I wanted to love it but the food was just not that great. The one delicious standout was the pork belly appetizer. The scotch egg (their specialty) was dry and not good. The shrimp skewers were served on what I can only describe as a giant tree branch that I had to hack the shrimp to pieces to remove. The fried chicken was moist and tender but the breading was overwhelming and took away from the dish.
Great atmosphere, great service. Loved the salmon! Will definitely be back soon!
Our server was probably the best part of the meal for the four of us. Three ordered crab cake as and appetizer and was disappointed with the 1/2 teaspoon of sauce with them, I ordered the scotch egg and was pleasantly surprised. Three ordered the veal schnitzel and were disappointed at the thick crust and over cooked veal with very small amount of vegetables. I ordered the pork osso buco and it was also over cooked and dry. The collard greens were tasty but vastly over salted. Desserts were disappointed substitutions as the state ones on the menu were not available. Probably the worst meal in the four years of doing Flavors of Palm Beach
Second time here and had a great time on both occasions. The restaurant was busy for a Tuesday night in August so that tells me they are doing something right. Food and service was great and the Chef came out to say hello (nice touch). Will be back again soon and highly recommend the scotch egg (yummm).
3rd time here and the food is excellent! Had the fried chicken with collards and corn casserole. I nearly liked my plate. Lol. The collards were literally some of the best I've ever had...and I'm from the south.
This was the second time we have been to this restaurant. They have items that you don't see on other menus which is nice. Also, I am vegan and they have a couple of options for me. The vegan caesar was wonderful and I asked them to add a Beyond Burger to it which they did. Loved is and can't wait to go back to get it again.
Food was delicious. I had Impossible Burger and fries and my husband has the pork belly taco. Good wines . Look forward to returning.
I will be back soon!! Great food and friendly staff. FUN environment too!
We love the atmosphere, drink choices and the interesting menu!! We will be back!
The food was good and the service as well as the cocktails were fantastic. We went with a party of 9 and there were no issues getting everyone’s food out at the same time. We will definitely be going back - and soon.
The menu was different. The place seems very casual and yet the food is unusual and the presentation is that of a fancy restaurant. Great place. Sat outside with our dog. Will definitely be going back!
We waited almost an hour to get our food, with the waitress coming by once to refill drinks. Once our food was ready, it sat under the heat lamp for a good 15 minutes until we had to say something about getting it. Service was very poor. Food was decent but several items on the menu "where not available".
What an undiscovered gem in this area. Food was excellent and very favorably priced. We’ll definitely go back!
Very slow restaurant
Did not enjoy the service or food
We went on a Wednesday night and the restaurant was empty. I was surprised after reading the reviews. The food was fine and the service was very good. It was a pleasant experience.
We went on a quiet Thursday night, when there was a party of two at the bar, a table of two, and a table of five or six.
We ordered a flatbread, salmon, and fish and chips. They were all delicious! Flat bread had just the right crunch, with lots of mushrooms and flavor. Pretzel crusted on salmon was thin and delicious. Fish and chips was also Very good. Smaller pieces of fish allowed for more of the tasty, light batter. Fries might’ve been crispier. Not too noisy at all, but I imagine it would be with a full room. Well the reason service didn’t get five stars was kitchen was kind of slow.
Food was worth the wait!
Oh yeah… happy hour including $5 well drinks can’t be beat! We will go back.
Food was fresh, tasty and nicely presented. Decor was pleasant and service friendly.
We had been there twice before and loved it. This week the food was very ordinary.
We shall give it one more try since it had been terrific. Everyone has an off night.
Bare bonds atmosphere with gastro pub menu. When it's full it's noisy. Food was good. Wild boar osso buco was tasty but slightly dry. Chicken wings and tacos we tasty. Shishito peppers were solid. Desert doughnuts and hot chocolate were fresh and topped off the dinner. French Quarter cocktail hit the spot. We arrived at 8 and they were running out of several dishes. That is a problem.
It was my birthday and the first table they sat us at was great but then they moved us all the way to the very back which we weren’t too happy about and there were only 4 of us.
First timer. The food was better than average, although the chicken special was tough. The owner came over and took it off the bill. It was a very quiet night there midweek. Good for conversation. Good portion sizes and great tasts. Not too salty. Good and fair priced drinks. Will be back.
We came here before we saw a show at the Kelsey Theater so we were in a bit of a hurry to order. Our server was fantastic. We had a larger table and everyone didn't arrive at the same time. She was on top of her service and got us in and out on time for the show. I was very impressed they were able to accommodate us. The food, drinks and ambiance was really great as well.
Went to eat before a show at the theatre. The service was slow, the food was pretty good but I would have left a higher review if the service was more consistent. Had to wait a long time just to place a drink order, then for the drinks to arrive, then to order another round again, no silverware when the food arrived, wanted to pay the check so we could leave for the show but couldn't find the waitress, etc etc. I love the atmosphere, the location and some of the menu items sound great. Just needs to be tightened up a little.
Fabulous service, food and atmosphere!
This restaurant is a true find. Local with wonderful food, drinks, service and ambience.
The food was nothing short of amazing but it felt like they were short staffed as the waitress wouldn’t come around very often and it took over and hr to get dessert and cash out.
Wanting to try something new and this place did not disappoint. Wonderful signature drinks and food to go along with it. Dry rub wings were crispy and steak Diane was cooked perfectly. We will definitely be returning!
I want to begin by saying I have ALWAYS enjoyed every meal I have had at Brick & Barrel until this visit. I rave about this restaurant! However, I was disappointed with this most recent visit. We always try to eat something different. This time our friend suggested the fondue as the appetizer which was delicious! Loved the pretzel bread and fondue. We then tried the fish and chips for the first time. They could have used some extra time in the fryer as they were a bit doughy. And LOTS of salt/old bay. Could not finish our dish. Our friend ordered a focaccia pizza which was over cooked as some of the focaccia was nearly black. They have also changed their drink menu. I always ordered the crafted cocktail called High Tea and they no longer have it on the menu. The crafted cocktail drink menu has been condensed considerably. I'm taking this as a bad night for the chef and I can always order wine. My husband enjoys the beer selections so I am sure we will be visiting the restaurant again. I wish I could give a better review.
It was my husbands birthday i said that on open table no acknowledgement from them
Excellent food. There was a singer/guitar player the night we were there. He was a little loud which made conversation at our table a little difficult...but better than most restaurants. Decor is very attractive. Our son and daughter-in-law found this restaurant and highly recommended it. We were not disappoint.
I would suggest that you make it more visible from the road. I drove by it one day to see if I could find it and could not. The sign is not highly visible and without the address it was difficult to find. Hopefully you will be doing more advertising so that you will be around for a long time.
Love this place. Incredibly unique wine list - try the St. Mayhem - and the entrees are just as adventurous. Fantastic after dinner cocktails as well, and the new pastry chef rocks! We celebrated our anniversary and I’m already planning to do the same for my birthday.
The atmosphere is really cool in this hidden neighborhood gem. Friendly staff and eclectic menu with many options (limited on Sunday) including traditional pub favorites and one of the best veggie burgers I’ve ever had.
Terrific gastropub in Lake Park. Nice ambience, live music the night we were there. Food was creative and top notch. Charred shishito peppers, weiner schnitzel, peanut butter red velvet cake. All delicious. Also tried the Smoke old fashioned from the cocktail menu, very good as well. Service was a bit slow at times but nothing major. Will definitely being going back.
Excellent food, great beer, cool art murals. What else do you need? Hidden gem
Went on a Saturday night at 8pm. The restaurant wasn't busy but there was a rock concert down the street taking up all the parking which probably was hurting them. We had a cocktail each which were very good especially my Pecan F'n Pie drink. We shared an appetizer of Pork Cheeks and Polenta which was very flavorful. My had the Steak Chimachurri and I had the Brezel Salmon. Both dishes were excellent. If in the area again we would go back.
Can not wait to go back. We were a little hesitant to go inside at first. We really don’t know the area and when driving by it looked empty through the big window.
DO NOT let that deter you away. The food, service and atmosphere was just what we have been looking for: a local place where they know your name.
Too bad we are not from the immediate area. We could tell several of the patrons knew the management. We felt like we were treated as one of them.
The drinks and food were outstanding. Seriously outstanding.
There was a musician there whose music just brought the whole feel good ambiance together.
My only regret is having to drive 45 minutes, but totally worth it.
I would only give 1 bit of advice to the owners: maybe move that big table away from the window. If others, like us, don’t know about the place the look of it being empty from outside may sway them away.
Don’t be swayed away: It’s OUTSTANDING.
