About Bricco

Bricco’s star has been rising steadily since restaurateur Frank DePasquale revamped the menu to feature modern interpretations of regional Italian dishes.

Bricco has garnished superlative reviews from food writers in Boston and around the country – Best Guaranteed Meal in the North End and Best Pasta in Boston just two of the most recent accolades.

The talented kitchen team creates “boutique” Italian food, so-called because it is unique, personal and created for a select and sophisticated diner. The food is complemented by an enoteca (wine bar) with an exceptional selection of all-Italian wines.

Bricco also offers a sophisticated late night scene. The chic and energetic bar serves up great one of a kind cocktails as well as brick oven pizza with gourmet toppings such as prosciutto and fresh mozzarella from Italy in addition with appetizer selections.

We have been there several times and have always been impressed. Prices are much higher than most other North End restaurants but we have always felt it was worth it for a special occasion. This time it felt rushed and crowded.

This is not our first visit to Bricco. It's an excellent restaurant with a great atmosphere, I like it loud and with energy. I feel that the prices have increased over the last year or two, it's very pricey but the food and wine choices are great!

We did not have a good dining experience at Bricco. This place came highly recommended. We had reserved the place for a New years dinner with friends. It was described as a place with great service and freshly baked bread with great food. We love Italy and Italian food and were sold by the idea. The service was poor. The bread was old and cold. The appetizers were served luke warm. The main course was however nicely done and the pasta was very good. That was the only redeeming point. Overall, disappointed. Don't think we will be returning to Bricco. We love North End so will explore other options there.

The North End is my absolute favorite place to eat. I am gluten free and the gluten free homemade gnocchi is incredible! Definitely going back.

Tried this restaurant instead of going to my usual place in the north end. We had a reservation, but when we arrived the hostess seemed lost as to where to put us. We were put near the bar and the noise was deafening...my husband and I had to shout to hear each other. We decided on what we wanted and the waiter came to take our order. AFTER I told him our selection he then told us due to a refrigeration issue we couldnt order anything cold, chilled or uncooked. Ok..so we had to send him away and re-select our apps and entrees. While waiting for our food I had ordered a martini. I dont know if the bar ran out of glassware but it came in a brandy snifter jam packed with ice, no garnish or straw. The waiter made me think that was how their martinis were always served....meanwhile half the bar patrons were sipping martinis in...yep...martini glasses....no ice. Ok. We ate our food...not our first choice but what we were allowed to order. The food was just ok. Mussels were good. Pasta was 'meh'. The waiter came over and said no dessert was available but by that time we were ready to leave and just asked for the check. The bill was quite hefty. Overall a disappointing experience.

Great authentic North End Italian Restaurant. We sat upstairs which we preferred as the main floor was very loud and we wanted to be able to talk to each other. Service was really good and we would definitely go back again and recommend others to try this restaurant. There were some little issues with the food however. Our waiter informed us that the refrigeration in the kitchen was not working and thus we couldn’t order any cold appetizers or salads or desserts. Not his fault and certainly our bad luck in dining on the night this would happen. My husband ordered the 24 oz ribeye and loved it. My agnolotti was served lukewarm and didn’t taste just out of the pot fresh.
Off night maybe but we enjoyed being there and would try it again.

Bricco was very disappointing. It is very expensive (which we knew) but to have three meals come out together and the fourth delayed by at least 5 minutes was unacceptable. Two of the meals were not even hot. We told the waiter who said they would "redo" everything. When the "redo" arrived -- all four meals -- the two that were not hot -- still were not hot and had not been redone. The manager came over -- and offered to "redo" the meals again but we declined. He took all four entrees off the bill -- they did the right thing. However -- I would not return -- the evening was spoiled and it was supposed to be a special Christmas dinner with friends at a high-end restaurant. Even without the entrees our bill was $200 without the tip. Never again --

Bricco was an excellent venue to celebrate my daughter's birthday! It was festive and fun without being stuffy. The wait staff was attentive without being intrusive; and very helpful.
The food was wonderful; everything was fresh and delicious.
I requested a table on the second floor; it was a little quieter so we could chat without raising our voices.
We all had a wonderful time. Thank you!

Bricco is exactly what you expect it to be. Eating here really did feel like a treat - the food was amazing and the wine selection was spectacular. Many people I've talked to said to go for the pasta here, so we tried the Agnollotti al Plin and the 'Big Night' Timpano. The Timpano was great, but the Agnollotti al Plin was EXCEPTIONAL I would highly recommend it to anyone. Both were tasty, but the Agnollotti al Plin stole the show. We finished with some wine and creme brûlée, which was also delicious. The only slight issue I had was that it was a very tight space, and we were practically sharing our table with the family next to us, so be prepared for some potentially close seating. I will certainly come back here.

Wonderful evening in Boston. Perfection. The short ribs were the best my husband and I have ever eaten. The antipasto appetizer was more than enough for two. The bruschetta was outstanding. Wonderful server and very pleasant men at the front door. We were made to feel that they appreciated our business. We will most definitely dine there again.

When we first were seated, the room was incredibly loud, with diners at several sizable parties literally shouting at one another. Two-top tables are a bit tight: a neighbor sat on a wrapped present next to my wife on the bench seat. But when the larger parties left, the room quieted, and the meal was exceptional. I enjoyed dry roasted octopus with a jalapeno crust - really unusual and quite tasty starter. The pasta with wild boar was terrific. My wife similarly enjoyed zucchini blossoms perfectly prepared and her pasta dish. Great food.

Restaurent was busy which is normal on a sat night which was fine. Tables are very close to one another which is also common in the north end.

Mussles were great to start. We also order a meat ball app which was cold. I like my food HOT so it despite taste being good cold food is a turn off.

The 3 pasta's we ordered were just average taste and prices were expensive for average food. There are many north end choices so i wouldnt go back.

Was there for my birthday and they stuck my boyfriend and I upstairs in the tiniest little corner. The wall was disgusting and cracked paint all over just was really not what I wanted on my birthday at all. The ambiance upstairs is not at all what i would hope for in the north end. Food was alright. Will not be going back.

My wife and I enjoyed our dinner at Bricco. We were early for our reservation on a busy Friday night, but they seated us quickly. I had the braised beef short rib and it was excellent. The glace was amazing. She had the Pork Tenderloin, and it was tender and moist. The asparagus wrapped in bacon was a nice accompaniment to the meat. We look forward to our next visit!

I've gone to Bricco close to 10 times. While the food is top notch each time, half the time, the service is the worst in the North End. Our waiter was so MIA that in order to pay the check at the end of the meal, after the waiter gave us the wrong check twice we finally had to walk downstairs to pay the bill.

If you're considering Bricco for a date or special event, I would strong recommend finding somewhere else...which is quite easy to do in the north end.

Recommended by a friend. However, it didn’t live up to the hype. My wife’s meal was good, mine was very mediocre. Had to send it back cause it was cold. Hugely disappointed. Tables were very close and there were very loud people with crazy cackling laughing that made it hard to have a conversation.
