Bricco’s star has been rising steadily since restaurateur Frank DePasquale revamped the menu to feature modern interpretations of regional Italian dishes.
Bricco has garnished superlative reviews from food writers in Boston and around the country – Best Guaranteed Meal in the North End and Best Pasta in Boston just two of the most recent accolades.
The talented kitchen team creates “boutique” Italian food, so-called because it is unique, personal and created for a select and sophisticated diner. The food is complemented by an enoteca (wine bar) with an exceptional selection of all-Italian wines.
Bricco also offers a sophisticated late night scene. The chic and energetic bar serves up great one of a kind cocktails as well as brick oven pizza with gourmet toppings such as prosciutto and fresh mozzarella from Italy in addition with appetizer selections.

Bricco Ratings and Reviews
Our waiter VuVu (Sp?) was excellent. He suggested a nice Barolo that was below $100 which was surprising since I always have spent north $125+ for one. Food was delicious and he decided on our dishes since we didn’t mind. Only dish that was just OK was the Veal Shank.
Otherwise I always enjoy dining here and will return soon.
My experience at Bricco was great as usual. This was my 29th birthday dinner and everything was fantastic. We sat down a bit past our reservation time, but we were a larger party so it was understandable. The food here is always fantastic and I️ am bringing my family over Thanksgiving weekend... can’t wait!
Bricco was ok. It was very loud and we were seated in the bar area, so there were constantly people standing basically at our table. The food was ok. Pasta was like warm. The sea bass was good. They also made a good Manhattan. In their defense, it was Friday evening so there was a large crowd drinking in the bar. The location is great and there is a ton of energy around the area. Ask to sit in the dining room!
What a fantastic experience. We arrived in Boston earlier in the day and stopped in to check on our reservation. It was confirmed and I mentioned we were celebrating my son's birthday who had just recently moved to Boston and was anxious to try this restaurant. When we all arrived that night , we got one of the best seats in the house , window view. Being of Italian heritage and experiencing some great restaurants
Italian restaurants, wasn't sure what to expect. Service and food was fantastic. Staff was so friendly and very accommodating. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Bricco was recommended by a friend. The host barely acknowledged us when we walked in. The hostess was attentive when the host figured out we were there. The seating was very cramped, and felt like we sitting with the group next to us. Our waiter was great. He was very attentive, new the menu, and accommodating. The food was good, I expected it to be better, especially given the price.
We were so glad that the hostess did not lead us to the 4 top by the front door. Very glad to be seated in a small quiet dining room upstairs. And it only got better.
Each course was flavorful and spot on. So often in an Italian restaurant the primi pasta dishes are so large that there' no room for the second I. Small side portions of pasta were offered. Room for the delicious secondi.
Service was terrible and made overall experience poor. I can't even remember what we ate because all I remember is the poor service. Waiter was completely inattentive, did not check on us frequently, and we could barely understand him a he had an accent nd it was super loud in the restaurant. Food took forever to come out. Our reservation time was 7:15 and main course came out around 9 pm. Also it was INCREDIBLY dark I couldn't see what I was eating.
Poor service overshadowed anything that might have been good such as the food.
I have taken time before writing this review as my experience was terrible. We sat upstairs and had a male waiter that could not have been more uninterested in waiting on my husband and myself, from taking 8 minutes to take a drink order to never delivering it and we had to go to the bar and pick the drink up ourselves???
I ordered the shrimp scampi and told the waiter that I do not like lemon or the flavor at all in my scampi and could they just use oil and garlic. The dish came out tasting like lemon and wine and I was fine with just letting it go, however the waiter insisted on returning the meal while my husband at his dinner alone. I would have been fine with that even.
The waiter came back to my table several times to explain that scampi is always prepared with wine and lemon and that the dish was made correctly. I explained that I just didn't like the taste of lemon and I was not saying that the dish was not made as it always is, but I had told him ahead of time that I did not like lemon on my shrimp! The waiter ended up arguing with me to the point that I had to leave my husband alone at the table and walk out of the restaurant.
My husband asked for the check (Manager never came to our table) only to find that my shrimp scampi dish was still on the bill and he never removed it.
We ended up going down the street to Nico's restaurant where the staff was pleasant and the food was fantastic.
Terrible experience at Briccio and that waiter is in the wrong business...
