The food was just ok, more middle of the road safe flavor. The best part was the dessert! The deep fried cookie dough bites with cereal milk gelato-yum!
Bria Bistro Italiano has a cozy ambience, and the food is excellent. It is moderately priced and we usually like to go there for a date night or special occasions. The serving staff is excellent, very friendly, but also cognizant of giving you privacy. I think you will be pleasantly surprised with the menu and the value for the prices.
Six of us went for dinner at Bria. Sunday is half priced wine night so we took advantage of that deal. One guest had the special cod in paper and thought it was wonderful. I had the veal piccata and they were nice enough to sub spinach for pasta and green beans for artichokes (making it outstanding). Another guest has the lasagna and loved it. Another had eggplant parm and thought it was the best they ever had (very thick slices of eggplant). Another guest ordered pasta carbonara with chicken; came first time without the chicken, but that was fixed. Final guest had the salmon dish and found it tasty. Server was nice and they serve good bread and dipping sauce.
My lasagna and my wife’s gnocchi were both fantastic. The beet salad was even better.
Lasagna was great the rest was ok but service was only ok
Good food but on the pricey side. I had a little bad luck with my eggplant dish which was way too salty but generally the food has been good on a previous occasion. Figure $30/35/ person without drinks. Portions are moderate.
Most tables are pretty small and close together so it feels slightly claustrophobic.
Pleased menu special was very good and my dates flatbread was also well received
Staff was very attentive and accommodating, made us feel special.
A quality meal at a fair price.
The food and service were amazing and it was half off bottle of wine night! My husband and I along with another couple enjoyed the lasagna, fettuccine Alfredo, roasted chicken plus fried olives, homemade mozzarella sticks and of course the delicious wine and bread! My second time there and we will definitely be back.
Will avoid because of lack of parking
Food was great as always! Wine by the bottle is half price on Sundays & I believe on Wednesday’s.
Interesting, thoughtful menu & wine list. Excellent food, well prepared & presented. Comfortable, relaxed atmosphere. Good neighborhood vibe. Too bad our waitress wasn’t having good day. Way below par with the rest of the evening’s offerings.
Friends getting together. Nice evening. Good food. Just noisy.
I would give Bria 5 stars except there was a cold breeze in the restaurant. We asked the server to adjust the temp control. The breeze would disappear for a few minutes and then return. Made us very uncomfortable.
Our first experience was not a good one. We were seated at a table that might have been adequate for one. The air condition was running the entire time and blowing cold air directly on me and my lady friend. I'm not a person that is normally cold but that was very uncomfortable and made it hard to enjoy anything else. We told our waitress but she really did not say or do anything about it. We had the fried olives off-the appetizer menu and the bread which were the best things we had. We both had chicken parmigiana and the chicken was dry. The angel hair pasta that was paired with it was overcooked. We were very disappointed since we had heard good things about it. My 3 star rating is probably generous.
Superior service, excellent selection, another great evening in this neighborhood gathering place.
We go to Bria on average twice a month. Food is always good and service efficient.
I had higher expectations. The calamari was undercooked and soggy. The steak was good temperature and flavor, but not a 36 dollar cut of meat. It was paired with a glaze that was disgusting. The server was very polite and tried very hard. If this meal was at macaroni grill it would have met my expectations. The best part was the bread and oil which were very good.
We celebrated a late Valentine’s Day here with a groupon I found online. I’m glad we got that Groupon because I may not have heard about this restaurant otherwise. Food was pretty good (especially those handmade mozzarella sticks, soooo yummy). I had the gnocchi dish which was good but could have used a little more cream sauce and my husband got the manicotti which was delicious. There’s not a lot of great Italian in Nashville, but this one is one of the better places I’ve been to and I would definitely go again. Our server was also very nice and attentive.
Had a great time!
Love the food and ambiance in this great restaurant!
Fish was cold. After I sent it back, they brought it back to me ...cold.
I go here twice a month. No respect sheesh.
Food, drink and service were all top notch!
Dined for a date night program on our own. Food was amazing, wine was great, and food came quickly and often. Only complaint was that we had to wait a long time to be addressed by a host - nearly 15 minutes before ANY even addressed us (and we had a reservation). But we would definitely come back, loved every dish we ordered (had stuffed mushroom appetizer, mussels, gnocchi, chicken parm, and cheesecake) and the 8 dollar glass of wine was so good!
This was our first time there and we went because we were given a gift certificate. It was just the two of us and we were seated at a very small table. Tables were very close together so didn't feel like you had any privacy. We had 2 large menus, wine menu, and menu for specials plus 2 water glasses, bread, bread plates, and a plate of oil. We ordered 2 appetizers and the plates were so large there was not room for the items on our table. We spent the entire evening "shuffling" items on the table to make room. While the food was delicious, the lack of privacy and space will probably deter us from coming back.
Wait staff could use some customer service training.
Awful first time experience. The mozzarella sticks are the only thing that could redeem this place. I ordered the Capellini Pomodoro with their gluten free penne pasta (the only gluten free option). It was drowning in watery tomato juice for the sauce. My friend ordered the mozarella sticks (which she loved) and the spaghetti and meatballs (how do you screw that up?). But after her first and only bite, she was disgusted by the strong taste of metal and told the waiter she didn't like it and did not want the rest. Shortly after her plate was taken away, the manager approached our table and rudely told us he needed to use the second half of our table. He then proceeded to pick up our purses and things and move them himself without asking or apologizing. No one ever sat at that new table he set up next to us. While my friend didn't ask for her spaghetti and meatballs to be taken off of the check, it would have been considerate of the manager or the waiter to ask what they could do to improve our experience or just take the uneaten item off the check. But they didn't. I never leave reviews for restaurants. But this experience was just plain bad.
We had dinner with friends! Our table was ready upon arrival and our server was great. She clearly understood that we were in no rush and wanted to enjoy time with our friends. So, she paid attention to our drink and appetizer orders and gave us plenty of time to settle in before ordering dinner. The chicken parmesan was great with a crunch on the outside yet juicy on the inside. I'd definitely order it again!
Not impressed. Small and noisy, food was ok but not exceptional
This was my first visit to Bria Bistro. I was on a hunt for great eggplant parmesan and I found it. The eggplant was cut thick, paired with a good sized serving of mozzarella and light breading. I also thoroughly enjoyed the beet salad. My colleague enjoyed her chicken parmesan and beet salad.
Perhaps next time I will save room for dessert!
Excellent food and Bob was outstanding servicing our table. Deanna very friendly and helpful giving us recommendations from menu and providing drinks. Great atmosphere! Highly recommend
We usually love Bria. This past visit my pasta was Luke warm and our cinnamon apple desert was barely warm. We will try again. They need to concentrate on doing good Italian food and less of the weekend specialties that you can’t pronounce.
Always love our meals at Bria- with family, friends or both!!
Never disappointed at this place. Worth the 30-minute drive. The papardelle dish with goat cheese is a great option for lactose-intolerant diners.
The food was great. Everything was home made and fresh .The service was great. However I felt it was overpriced $16 for spaghetti and meatballs SpaghettI is pretty inexpensive so 40 dollars for dinner we drank water 32 for 2 spaghetti and meatballs plus tax and tip pretty expensive portion size was good but I felt it was too expensive. I will tell people that it is good glad we got to try it out.
Our waiter was great, we really enjoyed will return.
This was my third trip to Bria and the first for my three companions. The bar was a nice place to hang out before dinner. Seems like a lot of locals gather there which makes it homey. It's not a huge place, but allows for conversations even when it is a full house. We ordered calamari and some of the biggest mozzarella sticks I have ever seen for our appetizers. We each got different entrees and all bottles of wine are half price on Wednesdays, so we shared a bottle. We had filet mignon, scallops, pork chop, and shrimp fettuccine and everyone enjoyed their meals. The steak was perfectly cooked and so was the pork chop. The shrimp fettuccine was devoured and I cannot say enough about how delicious the scallops tasted. We got the gelato selection and the apple hand pies for dessert. The gelato is always great, but the hand pies were tender and flaky and oh, so good. I recommend this little gem to anyone looking for a place to meet up with friends for a nice dinner. It's a great date night place, too.
Always enjoy our meals here. So lucky Bria is in our neighborhood!
My meal was very very small in comparison to the rest of the people I dined with. Appeared to be a kids portion but was charged the full price. Tasted good, just wish there was more!
