Brewsters used to have an extensive and varied food menu It was really good then. I have not visited for quite a few years. On this visit, I was surprised by the scaled down menu and the boring selection of food items. I was tempted to try the original staple- Gurvinder's butter chicken, but instead opted for the Rig Pig beer battered fish and chips. I was very disappointed in the heavy, greasy batter which was reminiscent of pancake batter with no hint of beer. The highlight of my dish is the coleslaw- fresh, finely sliced and lightly dressed. My daughter's Long Beach salad was even more pathetic for the steep price of $19. My other guest's meals looked so-so, and the presentation was below average. The beer menu looks enticing, but it was early in the day, so I ordered a coffee. I regretted my choice. This coffee was among the worst. Surely there are better quality coffees available, but Brewsters are re-known for brewing beer, and maybe not coffee. The atmosphere was more like a coffee shop- wrapped cutlery arranged communual style on the table front, and a stack of menus in a holder. Service was not that attentive. They should rename their restaurant Brewster's Truck Stop.

The food is kinda pricey, but really tasty, the beer is awesome. It was a little dark and loud, for me. But the staff are nice and came around "at the right time". Lots of parking as there are lots of shops and stores around.
