Not a huge selection but I got the seasonal salad and it was excellent. Out of a couple of things (bun for shrimp poboy) but they adjusted and server was great.
Our first visit here for brunch. The service was top notch. They even tailored our cocktails to our liking.
The food was very good. We will be back.
Good food. Good service. Jambalaya is excellent.
Celebrated a birthday here. Had a wonderful meal, excellent service, lovely atmosphere. Would definitely recommend
Our server Kim was fantastic.
Nice scratch to table menu. Good wine selection and neat Victorian atmosphere. Quirky in a nice way.
Post volleyball game . Service was a little sloe
Some of the the portions were very small for the price. The food was very good, but just not enough. We never order dessert, but were still hungry (there were 6 in our party). Our server was excellent and kudos on the Creme Brulee. One of the best ever. We would come back but probably would only order appetizers.
The pork rinds were amazing! The chicken was fantastic! The milk stout was smooth. This place was new to us and we know we will return...soon!
Good food. Nice atmosphere. Music was good and not too loud if out of the bar area. Surprised that there was only a brunch menu available until 2:00pm because it limited choices in a restaurant that has a great broad menu.
I had a great time with my husband and our son and his wife. We visited during Restaurant Week and the food was fabulous. The music was jazz/blues and we really enjoyed ourselves. We will definitely return and highly recommend it.
Definitely the place to satisfy your "Creole cravings"!
the service was awesome, our waiter was an angel, had a great knowledge of the food and drinks, shared the history of the restaurant and was just lovely. Of course, the food was outstanding!
We visited BrewRiver Creole during Restaurant Week. We've frequented the restaurant before for brunch.
The patio area is dog friendly and we wanted to take our Bella there to see how she would do.
The servers were great to her - especially, Gabby. They brought a smile to my face.
The food was delicious as usual. Unique, reasonably priced and DELISH!! We will definitely return.
Best restaurant in town. Always love everything I get. When the weather is nice, the outside patio is the place to be!
Great food and a wonderful place to be with friends. Joby and Michael run a fine establishment.
Thank you for the fantastic review! We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. We look forward to seeing you again!
Lunch with friends at BrewRiver was a really good experience. Our server was very personable and appropriate. The food was good and the portion size was very good. The draft-beer variety was excellent. The dining area was well lit but not too bright (I could see the menu and food well), and the seating was very comfortable for a 2+hour leisurely lunch. The music was appropriate instrumental tunes and good volume for our group conversation.
Dad’s 80th birthday - 1st time there for him and mom and they loved it. Music was a little low on the patio but typically they pipe the music into every space so you can enjoy the live music. Gabby was a great server, very engaging - but I gotta say, every server we’ve had here is great. Nice people, cool location and superb food.
I’ve been here before & had a great experience but after tonight I won’t be back.
The Manhattan & mediocre fried green tomatoes were the highlights.
The gumbo lacked flavor one might expect of gumbo.
Salad delivered to the table by the waiter without the shrimp as ordered. The salad was over dressed and not edible. I sent it back. That’s when I complained.
It took over 15 minutes for the manager to make her way to our table, even then she only took off the item that I sent back.
Manager questioned if we paid as we walked out, she didn’t know my husband has excellent hearing. Yes, we paid - in cash!
We are so sorry! We take mistakes seriously & what happened with your evening was an unfortunate misunderstanding. Your server made a mistake forgetting your shrimp & offered to get you a new salad w/ shrimp, but you declined. Our GM came to the table to apologize & communicated that we removed the item from the bill & offered anything else you wished, but you declined. We made a $25 gift card which we were waiting to bring with the check, this being the reason we asked about your check.
One of the best creole restaurants I’ve been in. As a frequent visitor to New Orleans I am very picky so that’s saying a lot. Great atmosphere with live music that was not overpoweringly loud. Started out with a few mixed drinks which were superbly made, you could tell it wasn’t premixed cocktails mass produced. Then had appetizers and entrees. Great variety of options including a few I rarely see outside New Orleans. The jambalaya was out of this world as well as the shrimp and grits. I would not hesitate to go back. Plenty of parking available too.
The hostess was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the server was not friendly, nor helpful.
It was my husbands birthday ( our first as a married couple in his new city ) and I wanted to surprise him with his favorite cake. I brought the cake and candles earlier that day to the restaurant explaining to bring it with the candles at the end of our meal.
The server didn’t know anything about it and almost brought our checks... I went inside to tell him about the cake and then told him I was going to the restroom.
When I returned to our table the cake was there and still in the plastic wrap! He didn’t bring plates until we asked him and no forks only spoons? Who eats cake with spoons? When I asked for a box to take home the cake he said well we only have tiny boxes so I can just use the plastic wrap. I told him we would cut it up and put it in the boxes because I wanted to give some to our other guests.
He completely dropped the ball and ruined our experience.
He basically did the bare minimum with half a smile.
The atmosphere is fun, great drink and the food is great, especially the pork rinds and steak and Frites!
I hope you try Brew River I just hope you don’t get our server!
Was very disappointed with their wine selection. There was NO Chardonnay, at least the night that we were there, that had even the slightest bit of oak. Their menu was too focused on cheeses and aioli that I didn't care for, although you can order everything without. I also didn't care for the fact that all of their French Fries were soaked in vinegar (for the sake of being crispy). That being said, our waitress was wonderful and very sweet, although overly busy. For the sake of fairness, we were there on a Friday night. The burger was very good and the salad (without the blue cheese) was decent.
Loved the place. Service a little slow at times but place was very busy. Food was excellent. My only beef is the noise level. Between the band and the crying children along with the adults it was not at all relaxing. I believe the music should be more relaxing and toned down and that would help a great deal. What ever happened to going out for a nice romantic evening? If you know a place please let me know!!!!
Food was very good, between the fried chicken and the oysters and the drinks and the live music was a wonderful evening
We never rate restaurants but this was terrible. My son ended up getting sick from his dish. I ordered the Salmon which was $28.00 and had enough for four bites. The only items we liked were the salads but the Caesar salads could of included more salad dressing. The table next to us was complaining that their food was so late and as we were exiting the restaurant the valet asked the party how there dinner was and they said,"bad bad bad."
Food was cold, terrible!
Pimento cheese was great app. I had the oyster po boy, nice addition with the pickled ginger My wife had the Natchez hamburger which I got to eat a third of and I would say one of the best burgers out there. Service was great (scott??) hellova job!
Great atmosphere and service. Sat out side on the patio because it was a beautiful night. Muscles were dry and the sauce was bland, but I ate it. My wife and friend both had jambalaya which was tasty.
Hello, we are so sorry you didn't enjoy the mussels. We get our mussels in fresh and triple wash them. We take great care to serve them properly, triple wash them, and the recipe is supposed to be anything except bland. It is Vietnamese in influence and has lemon grass and coconut milk in the ingredients. We will be addressing this the kitchen immediately and hope you will come back soon.
Awesome liver pate to start the evening, all 3 of us had different entrees and everyone was happy with their choice. Family was in Indianapolis and heading to Columbus, but made the detour to Cincinnati just to have dinner there again. My Pasta Monica was delicious -- I'll definitely have it again next time! Desserts were luscious -- love Chef Michael's Creme Brulee!
Hi Carolyn, we couldn't be more humbled that you traveled such a distance to have dinner with us again. We look forward to your next visit and thank you for your support and patronage!
We went to see our favorite band play in the bar area. Our server was very busy but took excellent care of us! We had a great time!
The food was excellent, and the server was attentive. We will definitely return.
We had brunch.I started with a wonderful Bloody Mary that had delicious garnishes. The bacon infused donuts were disappointing.Very greasy all the way through. We had the chicken and biscuits and Sausage Gravy, Biscuits .Both dishes were extremely bland-the gravy seemed to not have any seasoning and the biscuit was huge and very dense with no flavor. The chicken breast was tasty but too much batter and not much meat. Alot of money shelled out for a disappointing meal. Will be back for cocktails but probably not a meal.
Thank you for your response. Everything you described above is the opposite of our food standards and the brunch we have successfully run for 7 years at our old location and our new. I am sorry you did not have the experience you should have. We will be checking and double checking to make sure recipes are being followed and executed properly on brunch! We hope you will give us another try in the near future so we have an opportunity to show you what we are truly about!
They are following a typical trend at restaurants: the more the salt, the better the food. The risotto in one of the dishes was nearly inedible because of salt. Also some of the plates were quite small. And the shrimp in the shrimp and grits were tiny.
Yummy! We had a fun night, and the food and the service was fantastic. My mom said it was the ‘Best fried chicken! ‘ and she doesn’t eat fried anything!
This was our first time here and it was a perfect experience! The food was phenomenal! A gem of a spot! The flavors were incredible.
The service was so so great!
Even some great but not overbearing music to accompany our meal. We called ahead to make sure we could be seated outside. They happily accommodated our party of six with three kids!
Great spot! Will be back soon!
Love this place!!
Brought 5 adults for dinner on a Tuesday night. The food was delicious, fresh and flavorful. The service was excellent. We will definitely come back
Absolutely wonderful food. The live music was great and the service was excellent. I plan to visit many more times!
Used Open Table last minute on a Sunday evening. Have wanted to try Brew River for a while.
Started with a nitro IPA. As with nitros feel a little flat, but ok.
Had the pickled vegetables. The flavor of all but the green tomato was nice and spicy. Personally just don't like tomatoes.
Then a cup of chicken and andouille gumbo. Could have been a bit darker on the roux but was adequately spicy and lots of flavor from the chicken and the sausage.
Had the fish and chips. Fish was ok. A little greasy and blah. Fries were really good. The kimchi tartar sauce was very good. The home made ketchup ok.
My mom had the shrimp Po Boy. Reported it had good flavor.
My son the shrimp and grits. Flavor wise really nice but relatively small portion.
Finished with Bananas Foster bread pudding and it was pretty good. Maybe add a little banana liqueur to the sauce.
Service was a bit pretentious. Full of stories pumping up the chef and owner. A bit on the annoying side. Tone it down. But was prompt.
Price a bit high for quality but plan to give them another try.
Warm greeting on arrival, knowledgeable and diverse in conversation waiter, Music was excellent and sound was appropriate for a fine dining experience. Oysters Rockefeller were soooo tender, shrimp poor-boy on target. Thanks for a perfectly relaxing evening.
We had high hopes for this restaurant as it has a unique menu and boasts of being gluten free. When I made my open table reservation, it asked about any special considerations. I listed it was our anniversary and we needed a gluten free menu. During our evening, there was never any mention of our anniversary. But worse, when we told our server we needed gluten free selection, she informed us they were completely out of gluten free bread for all sandwiches. She did try hard to find menu items we could eat, she apologized several times & even gave us a gift card to use on a return visit. But in the end there were very few items and no desserts. The food took a long time to come out and one of our meals was a bit cold on arrival. Our server tried, but I don’t know that we will return
