Brew Brothers at Presque Isle Downs Ratings and Reviews
I'm sorry but my waitress was horrible I only seen her to order and pay my bill my food and wife's food was cold got no refills on drinks I only left a 5.00 tip just because my wife waitresses but didn't complain at all because I was trying to make the best out of it on Valentine's day.
The sandwich I ordered was as hard as a rock. Could chew it. Manager took it off my bill. I ordered it med. and it was very well (Burnt). My wife had a grilled chicken salad and it was very good. The same night we were there a couple next to us had to take their entree home as it took so long. They ate their appetizer and took the food home. Kitchen was not doing a good job that night.
Jason, our server, was excellent. He was extremely friendly and patient with all our questions about the menu.
The interaction of the manager, I think Audrey is her name, was a plus. She is a genuine people person and our entire table of five enjoyed our conversation.
The food was very tasty and enjoyed by all.
We went on an "off-night" (Monday),"off-season"(No live racing), but the service was great and the food was absolutely delicious. The "Burnt Ends" from the appetizers lived up to all the compliments we had heard!! The portions were good size and the price was good for the value we received. I will go back and highly recommend this location.
It took a while to get our drinks and food. I explained to the server that we were in a hurry to get to another event and it still took over an hour. The server failed to place our order for appetizers which actually ended up costing the restaurant money. Overall it was an hour and a half to get four burgers and 3 drinks. The burgers however are about the best in the Erie area.
Most of the food was great. Two items were not: the creme brûlée and French onion soup were below par. Service speed was well below par. We asked for separate checks, but this was not done. One person just paid, because it already took forever to get the food, drinks, and check.
The food is great and so is the service and ambiance. The only negative is their reservation process. If you call, you get a recording to leave a message and they will call back. They NEVER call back. I've had this experience several times and so have my friends and family. Make your reservation on line. They will send a confirmation.
Had a get together after our family reunion. Loved watching the races from our front and center table. The waitress was wonderful and the pizza and wings were good! I would love to see an option to bet on the races through your phone or iPad....would save all those trips up and down the steps! My sister was in a wheelchair and had to use both lifts to get her down to the table....took a bit to find someone to get the key to run it, but all was good once they got it. Unfortunately the lift experienced major problems getting her back up....took quite sometime to fix and get her back up and on our way to the casino. The staff was very apologetic and remained with us til fixed! Will definitely return!
Our table was not at a window as requested when making our reservation but they accommodated us and gave us a great table with a view. I had my 85 year old mother out for an occasion and she would not have been able to see the races otherwise so I greatly appreciated that.
The service was very good but the food was lacking. Fish and chips was huge but the more expensive salmon plate was very small and not filling, had to order more food. Would expect for a $16 dinner more than a tiny piece of salmon and veggies although it was tasty. Drinks were awesome. Also, one burger plate was small and he also had to order more food!
Tried to make reservations for 6:45 that evening by phone. I got a recording, they asked that I leave my name and number and they would get back to me. I never received a phone call back until after 8:00 that evening...so that of course didn't work.
I did go on line and saw that you could make reservations there. I wanted to make it for (8) but they only let you do (6) so I did make the reservation for 6:45 and everything worked out great.
Not returning my phone call is my only complaint and that you limit how many you can reserve a table for.
The service was HORRIBLE. Waiters and bartenders walk by you without so much as a look to see of you need anything or are being helped. Had to verbally ask if anyone was working that could wait on us. Numerous tables complained of lack of attention by wait and bar staff. Either understaffed or uninspired workers, which is worse?
Well it started off with the poor reception when checking in. They said we don't take reservations on Sunday evening. Although I definitely had a confirmed reservation on open table. Then they made us wait for a table. After that we ordered drinks that never came for probably 10 minutes, after we asked another server if he could look for them. After that we discovered that our server had some off duty coworkers that she was sitting with. This caused our service to be very slow., and at times we had to ask another server if they would get things for us. Our server Ashley was not at all concerned with our order or providing good customer service. A very bad experience overall.
Have been doing a gathering of friends to celebrate some summer birthdays for the last few years at the casino. Always enjoy doing dinner and playing the races and sometimes a few slots as well. Always a good time - especially if you happen to be a winner!!!
Must say food was excellent. Service better then average. Wanted to watch races and was on top tier. Could see but wife short and she had some issues. Looked lite bottom tier people were just there to dine and not betting. Better to have ur betters where they can see. You need to serve bread with your meals as a norm. Overall very surprised on how nice it was.
Well when we arrived they put us at a both instead of a table where you could see the race track, because they said we didn't request a table in our reservation. Well, when you have live races during dinner maybe you should automatically seat people where they can see the races unless they request otherwise. I've been going here for years and they should know I am there for the races.
The Burnt ends appetizer was delicious. We loved the BBQ sauce and it was cooked perfectly. My husband ordered the Captain Dobbin's BBQ cheeseburger. It was cooked properly & the best burger we've had in Erie. I ordered the Truffle Burger. The flavor was good but the burger was overcooked and the mushrooms were cut too large for the sandwich which made it awkward to eat. I only ate half of the burger because I ordered it cooked medium and the temperature of it was very well-done and dried out.
Very disappointed in the seating arrangement. I reserved a table by the window one week in advance and ended up no where near the window. I was told there were several large parties who took up the space by the window, but there were none to be seen. When making a reservation a week in advance I would expect my request to be honored.
Our online reservations were confirmed for 11:30. We drovE 100 miles and we were turned away at the door. Told to come back at 12:00. At 12:00 we were turned away again to come back at 4:00. We asked for the Manager & explained we came from Buffalo and our friends came from Cleveland. After 2 different employees ignored us the Manager finally arrived. After speaking with the kitchen they decided to wait on us. Thank goodness.
The Downs Club House is normally packed due to the horse racing meet May-October and tables are pretty hard to come by. In the off season, mid-week, there's no problem with seating. The food is very good, reasonable amount of choices and the price is right. We always enjoy the time spent there.
