Overall very nice
Great experience! I’d highly recommend!
Came here for Valentine's dinner. Parking is as you would expect in LA so we valet parked with validation which was $10 for two hours.
Past the parking, the interior is very pleasing. The restaurant is actually part of the Figueroa hotel. There was live music that was a tad loud for my taste but was really nice for the ambience and the set list was very cool.
The Valentine's menu was lovely. We started with a light mixed salad as our appetizers that was very refreshing and appeared to not have any dressing applied which was pleasantly surprising. The main course, the 8oz fillet and salmon were delicious. The salmon was very tender and the skin side was crispy and well seasoned. The fillet was about average and the creamy sauce it paired with worked well. The accompaniment for both dishes were alright, about what you would expect.
The dessert was great. I really liked the chocolate cake. It looked very appetizing and glistened but was not overly strong or sweet. The fruit garnish was a nice touch along with whatever they used to add subtle complexity to the taste (I think it was an edible flower buti felt like there was ginger involved as well). The unlimited wine with the special was pleasant as well, we had sparkling rose and some white wine.
The price seemed reasonable for the meal and drinks at 75 a person on Valentine's day.
The staff were friendly and helpful though there was a weird phonecall from someone regarding my reservation during my meal. We came a few minutes earlier than our reservation but was seated. I got called by someone from Breva who seemed very rushed about not having a form of payment for my reservation or something during my meal and as I was trying to understand what was going on, he abruptly hung up after hearing we were seated improperly.
I would say that this experience was worth the value. There were just a few minor things that lessened the experience but overall the experience was solid
Excellent and friendly service and solid quality food. A fixed menu due to Valentine’s Day, which included a good choice of quality wine. Ambiance is great as they are located inside an iconic hotel.
Perfect place. Dining area was
Meals were way too small for the price and the dining room too set off.
Steak was dry. Fish was mediocre. We got dessert but the dessert was terrible. Nothing special and not worth the price. Atmosphere and service was nice. They always checked up on our table and refilled water at all times. But definitely would not go again
Birthday dinner- service was a bit slow
Amazing ambiance and great aperol spritzes!
Very good service and ambiance. However, food was mediocre at the best.
Great as always.
Breda went above and beyond to make our anniversary a truly special and memorable night. Amazing in every respect
Everything we ordered was wrong, dietary restrictions were ignored, the food came before the wine - because the wine took SO long. They apologized and comped some items but It was a joke how horrific service was!
I would recommend Breva for a pregame dinner but wouldn't go out of my way to eat there. The burger is good although slightly overcooked, even when ordered medium rare. I did like the tuna tartare and the deviled eggs are great. Pork Belly is too fatty, even for pork belly and cornbread tasted of the gas flame. The salmon is the best entree I've had in three recent visits.
There were 3 of us and we ordered the deviled eggs, the hamachi crudo, the tagliatelle with prawns, and the tomahawk steak. The appetizers were good. The pasta was bland flavorful and the steak was cooked too much. It was an expensive meal to leave feeling the food could have been much better.
Awesome staff. Great food. Loved the service and attention to detail. Will be back!
Wonderful food, wonderful service. This was our second time and it will not be our last.
We went to Breva simply because we were staying at the Hotel Figueroa for one night for a girl's night. We shared the special bass with corn and tomato succotash and their arugula salad. Both were really good. The wait staff was attentive and friendly. Definitely go back again!
Great pre-show meal. Loved the food and the decor is beautiful. Delicious craft cocktails.
Great spot downtown with good food. Small and cozy.
One of the best steaks and mashed potatoes I’ve ever had!
Very overpriced. Good service very limited menu for lunch. Nice quiet space in a very interesting hotel.
It was our 34th Wedding Anniversary and Breva was perfect. The ambiance was great. We started with the cheese/artichoke fig dip, which was delicious along with the beet salad. My husband had the steak and I had the catch of the day. Wine was great and in general the service was excellent. Portions were a good size. I would go back.
The old-school setting is beautiful & intimate (more date than business establishment). Large party of 28 in middle of the restaurant made it quite loud. Drinks are really good! Wine is overpriced! Meomi $14/glass or $63/bottle seems excessive...
Servers were attentive but correct salad ordered was not served & there was no comp of the correct one that came out as we were finishing entrees. Please explain?!?
Food tasted very fresh
We had been before and had a delicious meal. This was a disappointment in terms of the food and the selection.
It was just around the corner from our hotel, and we are so glad we chose to dine here.Great attentive service , amazing dinner . We had the tomahawk, and rib eye both cooked perfectly. There was also a wonderful live music while we dined.
Good food and service before concert at Staples.
I believe the staff, chefs etc. need more education. We waited 30 minutes before being acknowledged by the waiter.
We waited over 45 minutes between appetizer and main course.
The tuna tartar was tasteless. The arugula salad was half spoiled, many yellow leaves, beets etc non existent.
My husbands hamburger was good. The sea bass, which was a special, was cold in the center and under cooked.
We did however enjoy drinks on the Veranda, a very pleasant experience.
We may return for the beautiful patio and drinks but will never have a meal at the hotel again.
Sorry, please educate the staff on hospitality service and the kitchen staff on how to present the farm sourced food in a presentable manner.
This was my first trip to see the Hotel Figueroa, and I liked much of the preserved/restored elements (not so much the modern "art"), and was excited to try Breva. They offered a pre-fix menu as an option, and I decided to try that as they graciously said they could accommodate a couple of dietary changes. The food quality was good, presentation was good, but the kitchen let it go out undercooked after a long wait for food (there was a large noisy party of gals next to us - in an already very loud, hard surfaces environment - which probably delayed the order). In the end, it was good, and I would give them another chance. The staff was working hard to keep their guests happy; I appreciated their efforts
Pre concert meal
We made the reservation through OpenTable and when we arrived to the restaurant we were told they were closed until 5pm. We had a lunch reservation. So after a few minutes the server came back and apologized but indicated that they indeed were open. When we sat to view the menu we noticed it was different from the menu online and questioned the server again. She informed the group that the menu had changed over 2 weeks ago and it wasn’t updated yet. We decided to stay and make it work. I ordered the impossible burger which didn’t come with cheese but when I received the meal there was cheese on it. The reason was because the chef didn’t know.... overall the food was good and the server was really good. The major issues are the lack of understanding of staff regarding the entire operation. I would return because everyone was nice and I hope that they continue to iron out their new menu items (and staff possibly) for a better dining experience.
On past visits the bar used to have fabulous fancy cocktails. I had had a divine G and T, one of 4 options of G and Ts. I would have gone just for cocktails because they were so good.
However, they said they weren’t making enough money on those “labor intensive” cocktails and so this time we arrived to find a changed menu with boring cocktails. To add insult to injury, our drinks were watered down.
There was only one waiter in the dining room. The poor guy was working so hard! After 45 minutes we still didn’t have our beets or mushrooms so we paid for our wine and left!
The restaurant used to be delicious and the bar was fabulous. Clearly the owners have gone “on the cheap” and lost all senses of what lovely service and unique well made options mean to customers. I will never return!
This was my second time dining at Breva and I had such a good time the first time that I decided to take out of town guest to Brera. Sorry to say I was disappointed in the food. I was so looking forward to the Indian Canyon cocktail and the cocktail menu was different and the food was just so so. One good thing was that we had an outstanding waiter but I do not think I would return because I found the food lacking.
Thought the food would be better than at LA Live. No! Wouldn't return!
A little pricey, but over all good. Great drinks!
Great food and ambience however service was bad. Our server never checked up on us and never offered drinks and desert.
They cancelled our reservation as they closed the restaurant that night. Did not tell us until the morning of our reservation. Very poor customer service.
After stating in the reservation that a Birthday was being celebrated, and then informing the staff in person, you would think that someone would acknowledge the birthday person. Not once! Therefore, I would not recommend this restaurant for any celebration!
Breva has an assortment of interesting small plates. The marinated eggplant is a very small single portion and had mint in it which I didn't expect (and isn't noted on the menu). Favorite dishes were the roasted mushrooms - savory and delicious, the butternut squash with the jamon chips and beluga lentils. the squid was OK but reminded me too much of a calamari app I'd get at a chain restaurant. I very much enjoyed the Nightengale cocktail and my dining partner had the Picon Punch which was not to his liking. We split a bottle of wine that was reasonably priced by restaurant standards.
