Signatures include Whole Grilled Branzino and Huntington Meats Ribeye, along with an array of vegetable focused dishes with distinctive preparation, such as Moorish Spiced Carrots with Hazelnuts and Tangerines, and Sautéed Pea Tendrils with Lemon Breadcrumbs. Breva's authentic Basque Gintonicos and classic cocktails are mixed at Bar Figueroa, created by Dushan Zaric.
Took my son and his girlfriend there for dinner for his 27th Birthday. We had a great dinner, great service and because it was during the Dine LA program it was a great value for the money.
Will definitely return.
We went to Breva, for the Dine LA, the menu was exquisite , I have the squash rings, the clams , and the cocktails were very good and innovative , I love what they did to the restaurant of the Hotel Figueroa.
Amazing food and a great vibe
Conveniently located in DTLA, as we were attending a concert at the Music Center thereafter.
Located in the Hotel Figueroa, it has obviously been renovated. It has a lively bar scene, which
we were not interested in, but the food - combination of small plates and mains was creative
and very tasty.
Overpriced food for okay quality
Great food! The bone marrow was delicious and so were the cocktails! Kinda stressful figuring out how to get to the restaurant because it is in downtown L.A. and the parking isn't obvious. Had to drive down a back alley to park in a dark parkinglot behind the hotel.
Located in the Hotel Figueroa, Breva is a delight for the eyes and the palate. The high ceilinged beautiful room still manages to feel cozy and intimate. Cocktails were delicious, service was attentive and the food was delicious; the chicken was a standout. We enjoyed it so much we went back 5 days later and it was every bit as good as our first time.
Except for Open Table telling me I wouldn’t get points for the reservation, everything else was stellar.
Just ok. Nothing special. Service good. Menu selection was lacking.
The service was slow and took a million years for the check to come. The so-called “top 5 desert in LA” mille-fueille isnt that great either.
It was busy because of a concert. The waitress was not as attentive. The place is pretty. The porter house was delicious, the branzino was meh. Desert was good.
the food was absolutely delicious - good clean flavors with depth not just a ton of butter
was a lovely evening there
perfect before the show
being there was awesome , can’t wait to go back
Some of the food was great. Everything needed more salt. But the service was extremely disappointing. They kept coming out and apologizing, but it took about 1 1/2 hours to get our entrees.
Maybe some people called out sick the day I went. Food was great, but dishes came out sporadic and we saw our waiter 2 times the whole time. I will give it another try and I hope it was just a one night staffing issue because the place, although small, is very good. Beets and goat cheese was good.
Loved it 💜
Eggplant dish size was kind of surprising.
Looks like some of the food either premade or was sitting at the window too long. My hubby ordered flatiron steak and it wasn't even warm. Other than that it was okay but overpriced.
Service was horrible. Couldn't ever get the waitress attention, drinks we're never refilled. Couldn't get the check when we were done. Do not recommend this place at all.
Really disappointing. We were excited as this is the same team as the Tasting Kitchen. My halibut was cold, tony (maybe for small bites) in a cold soupy cream something base. The server never asked how our food was. Without saying a word, she walked up to our table and took our share plates away, including silverware, while we were still eating and had food on the plates. So bizarre we didn’t say a word. I’ll never return. I can’t imagine they’ll be in business long-too many options in DTLA (such as Faith and Flower)
Small plates. I did not like the food options on the menu, and I love all food. Portions were very small and overpriced. I liked the bar they had, I would go there for drinks but never the food.
Breva is a lovely restaurant with above average food. Why the 3 stars- service or rather lack thereof. Dirty napkin on the table, never offered a wine list- had to request, entree and appetizers came out at the same time. Won’t be returning
Fun dinner in a Friday before hitting the DTLA scene
Indifferent service. Mediocre food. Burger was just OK. Overpriced.
Went here for my wife's birthday! Been wanting to try this place since the renovation. They did a tremendous job! Our food was delicious. Mushrooms with foie gras was phenomenal as well as our dry-aged rib eye. Philip, our server, was awesome. He was informative and accomdating, as we had to move a couple of times because we had new guests arriving throughout our dinner. Definitely worth a return visit!
We thought that the decor and appearance of the hotel / restaurant was great. Probably will come back for the drinks / vibe, but the food was just ok. Not bad....but not memorable. Same with the service. I will say the mushroom dish was decent as was the Branzino.
We expected better food and ambience based on reviews and the chef involved. We are big fans of The Tasting Kitchen, his Venice restaurant, so the just okay food and limited menu was a disappointment.
I don’t think they quite get what good service is. They have many people walking around but they aren’t trained and don’t know how to help. They don’t look to see or offer of anything is needed.
They cleared some dishes at one point and I lost my fork. 4 people walked right by me inclyding the manager and I couldn’t get them to look up and help. There is a culture of Service that good restaurants have and this one doesn’t.
The grilled oysters are the best.
The Hotel Figuerora is a great space. Two bars which make excellent cocktails and just a really nice place to meet people. Breva is also a lovely restaurant, easy to talk to one another. Service was friendly but not intrusive. It's the food that gives me the most pause. It was good, like four star good. But not five star good. Personally, I am a little disappointed because I was a fan of Casey Lane's cooking at Tasting Kitchen. I'm afraid I would never have guessed he was the chef here.
Limited menu for lunch - wanted more options.
We enjoyed this restaurant so much that we ate here two nights in a row! Small plates with interesting flavor profiles and great cocktails were two great reasons to come back the next time we are in town.
Truly impeccable service made this a relaxing experience.
Then just being in the newly reopened Hotel and spending time exploring was great fun.
Breva is both well designed and managed. The dimmed lighting is romantic and pleasant. Seating is available inside and outside with both being comfortable. I will say that reservations are a must due that the dining area is quite intimate. The meal style is more so for sharing and the alcoholic beverages are beautifully crafted.
Breva is a new restaurant in the recently, highly renovated hotel, Hotel Figueroa. The restaurant is small but the bar area is very large. The food is interesting and innovative, consisting of a lot of sharable small plates. The appetizers are more interesting than the entrees. The noise level is high as most of the clientel are 20 and 30 something hipsters. It is quite expensive and I am not sure if the scene is worth the high price tag.
Went for my birthday celebration with friends. A few of the guests were on a gluten free diet, we were able to make some substitutions that allowed them to enjoy a three course meal without missing the dessert finale. Management and staff were warm and welcoming and able to accommodate our requests.
I would recommend, the food, ambiance and service were all great.
I’ve been here twice - tried both dinner and lunch. I really wanted to like this place because of its history and good location. However, both tines the food and service were horrible. Servers seem inattentive and it took forever to get the food. It definitely was not worth the wait. I hope they are working out the kinks but this place is not ready for prime time.
The restaurant was NOT open. Yes! You read correctly. The whole family walked towards the restaurant under the sun for the reservation made and the restaurant was closed. We were given the excuse that breakfast will be served at a terrace restaurant the hotel also owns. So there we walked. And had to wait on a line while the same lady that walked us had to individually sit all the people on the line. And yes! You guessed it! When she finally got to us....there was not a table available for our family of five. For a second she tried to blame us. Alleging that we were late. My face said it all....and she answered herself by saying we had been waiting all this time for their mistake. And then the manager came along to tell us we had to wait half an hour more. Thanks but NO thanks. Get your stuff together.
Great ambiance. Food is good. Drink selections are great.
However, one negative point is that it is not very Vegan friendly.
One of the friends is Vegan and she had a very hard time picking out food to eat.
She had to ask some dishes without sauce, etc. So I wouldn't recommend this place for vegan friends.
This is unfortunate because the restaurant sent a reminder for reservation and there was a section for special request section and I specified someone in my party was vegan.
Great ambiance. Food was tasty
Breva was a nice experience with great service and tasty cocktails and food.
