Family visiting from out of town
Food was amazing, but the servers and their knowledge really made the experience.
Excellent place for properly prepared foods and unique drink options. The dessert menu left more to be desired.
Truly worthy of Michelin Star, everything was perfection!
Amazing anniversary dinner. Chablis made the night very special for my wife and I. Every element and detail of the dinner was spot on, like watching a choreographed dance of very intentional and focused front and back of house. Bravo!
Bresca is hands down one of the best restaurants in DC. The food was perfect. Seasoned incredibly and memorable. My only complaint is that it was just a touch chilly in the restaurant.
This is definitely one of the best dining experiences in DC, like Michelin level, and the service is outstanding.
My husband and I had a wonderful dining experience at Bresca. When we arrived, I was a little concerned about the noise level, but as it happened, we were fine. The service was great and the food was phenomenal. We’ve been fortunate to visit some fine restaurants and Bresca is definitely among them now. We don’t visit DC often, but would come back to Bresca when we’re there again. The food really is wonderful.
The service was great, the space was very lively but enjoyable
The drinks were spot on and the food was fantastic.
Suggested by a friend. Chef's tasting menu was excellent - but you have to make the time for it to truly enjoy. Not to be rushed!! (and it wasn't)
Waited 30 minutes for the table, although we reserved. Ordered set menu—first three courses were rushed out within 15 minutes and were unremarkable. Felt like they were trying to get back on pace for later seating. Latter courses were quite good.
The service was top notch. The Bresca staff made me feel so at home on my birthday. The tasting menu included a great mix of refined plates (wagyu strip loin and foie gras) along with playful snacks like cheese and crackers, a deftly tuned balance of gastronomy and casual cuisine. And the cocktails were so tasty (and strong).
The food at Bresca is special. So, if you're a foodie you won't be disappointed. My wife and I had the tasting menu and split a wine pairing. The carrot agnolotti was the highlight of the meal for me - rich, balanced, and delicious. The barbecue mackerel with foie gras had a complex flavor profile and wonderful contrast of textures. The smoked turnip leaf in the Scallop dish was a wonderful new food experience for me. I'd just returned from SF where the food is more than twice as expensive and not quite at the same level (I ate at Hakassan in the city and Bird Dog in Palo Alto). So, I left feeling like Bresca was a great value.
Excellent atmosphere, gentle and kind service, greatest duck food ever had in DC area, worthy of a Michelin rating. Definitely will go back again.
Great experience all around. Had the 5 course tasting w/ my wifey! Great date spot
I had been dying to go to Bresca and just recently went for dinner on my birthday - and it did not disappoint. The service was outstanding; our waiter (Mauricio) was delightful, informative, and attentive from start to finish. The ambience is quirky and modern but perfectly reflects the seasonality and environmental themes of the restaurant.
But to get to the “meat” of our meal.... the food. The food was perfection. We opted for the a la carte versus the tasting menu, unfortunately missing out on the duck a la presse (they only do 4 a night, so get there early folks!), but our alternative did not disappoint. We started off with small plates of the foie gras and broccoli pierogi (which magically provide the satisfaction of barbecue with absolutely no meat in the dish). Our main dish to share was the lacquered short ribs - do yourself a favor and order this dish. My boyfriend and I agreed, it might be our favorite beef dish either of us have ever had. We finished our meal with the refreshing and playful tropical ambrosia (complete with birthday candle!) and French press.
It was the perfect experience for celebratory occasion, but I won’t be waiting long to go back!
The duck presse is totally worth the splurge. Really exceptional.
Got the duck. Amazing. Wonderful experience. Duck was delicious. Milk bread was amazing
Friends in town
Wish it were less noisy especially in the front.
But otherwise, everything was excellent.
All of our food was fresh and delicious. Service was friendly and efficient. Comfortable and pleasant environment. We ordered the tasting menu. We were satisfied, if not full, by the end of it, and as I said, everything was delicious. However, we were a bit disappointed by the size of the first two portions, especially the "cheese and crackers". We each received a single canapé consisting of two thin dime-sized crackers with a small dab of absolutely delicious pimento cheese between them. I would describe it as "half a bite" if that much. I could have eaten 50 of them. I would say that 4 to 6 of them each would have been more appropriate. I understand the "leave 'em wanting more" concept, but it was so good that we actually started the meal with a hint of disappointment.
The scallops sitting in buttermilk was very good, but it was difficult to discern the flavor of the scallops themselves. My wife doesn't eat scallops and was given a carrot dish instead (sorry, forgot the fancy name), and she adored it. It was her favorite thing, actually.
The wagyu beef course was truly outstanding.
The dessert was very good, though not exceptional, and frankly, it was necessary in order to not leave the restaurant with some remnant of hunger. In my opinion, the meal should be sufficient to satisfy one's hunger before the dessert, but that's just my opinion. I think one eats dessert (which we rarely do) because it's sweet and delicious, and not because one is still hungry.
But, having said that, the chef is extremely talented and it was a wonderful meal overall. The drinks were also outstanding, and we had a great time.
Best duck in Washington DC.
Creative cocktail menu, small beer list (but a lovely Belgian), delicious deserts.
But the duck is the show stopper!
We were lucky enough to get one of the four ducks that day and it was amazing! The dessert was great too.
The shaved beef was a little too salty for my liking.
A special mention to Liz who got out of her way. She went to see the Executive Chef to prepare the signature dish for me (as it was my last day in DC).
Great food, interesting menu, a little loud for easy conversation but would go back without hesitation
Excellent service and food. A table wasn’t available until maybe 15 minutes after our reservation. Not a big deal, but they gave us free champagne anyway which was a very nice touch. The tasting menu was superb and memorable.
Bresca is innovative, friendly and delightful. We will return in 2 weeks for our daughter's birthday!
AMAZING!! Again!!! Had their tasting menu and every single thing artfully and beyond tastefully executed. One of my favorites
Love! Perfect for a special occasion.
Delicious food! Roast chicken was the best I’ve ever had and very tender. Great service too
The Beef Short Rib was amazinggg - one of the best meals of my life
This is the second time we come here and some how the food is even better. It is my favorite restaurant in dc so far. Keep it up :)
Super delicious food! The AC was turned up too high, and although they turned it down several times upon request, they turned it back up again within a few minutes. It is too bad when the food is so good, but you focus on being cold instead. The service was pleasant, but we had to wait quite a while for the first couple of plates.
Food was excellent. The bartender was awesome and answered all of our questions. The service was good but he rushed through the menu a little bit and didn’t take a lot of tome with us like our previous experience. Loved the shaved beef And scallop. The agnolotti was also good. Short rib was ok but wouldn’t order again.
Great restaurant! Tasting menu was absolutely delicious and a great deal. Staff was very nice and knowledgeable. Will definitely return! I was scraping my plate it was so good!
The service was polite and helpful, attentive without being overbearing. The presentation of the cocktail menu and offerings was somewhat awkward and perhaps a bit uniformed, though the wine was delicious and right on point. The tastings were inspired and delicious, but somewhat predictable. The Mackerel and foie gras snack was probably the biggest star of the menu. I enjoyed Bresca and will return.
Everything was wonderful! Great service, someone was always there to change out a plate and ensure the table was clean. Food was well timed, well seasoned and well cooked. Really can’t say enough great things about this spot! Left overs are kept at the host stand until you’re ready to leave, really nice touch! Can’t wait for their new restaurant to open!
Amazing experience !
Everything was just perfect !
Very unique cocktails , amazing food and an excellent service .
A very pleasant evening .... already ready to go back !
Michelin Food with a neighborhood vibe. Amazing service, creative dishes that taste great. Our favorite restaurant in DC.
