Decor was adorable, loved them smaller restaurant, creates an intimate feeling. Service was great, our food and drinks were excellent too, the gnudi was our fav along with the ambrosia for dessert. We celebrated our anniversary and had a wonderful evening.
Service was transactional and forced. Several different servers asked the same questions. Ordered the duck for $120 that was very underwhelming- tasted old/reheated. Scallop crudo was grainy and bitter. Shaved beef and gnudi were very good. Coursing was rushed, servers dropped courses on top of each other. Disappointing experience overall.
To die for. I was already a fan of duck but today’s dish was amazing. Get an early reservation as there are only a limited number of the 21 day aged ducks a night.
Amazing food and service. Great staff and a cool space. Biggest complaint would be the drinks are pricier than average but they are good enough to mostly make up for it.
Excellent meal! We took advantage of restaurant week and were so happy we did. Everthing was well executed and of high quality. As a result, we will return for a full dining experience.
I dined here for restaurant week and can only review based on that specific experience. We sat at table 11, right next to the kitchen and service station, which influenced my review of the ambiance and noise level. Would love to come back and have access to the full menu.
The food was impeccable. Although, the menu was limited during restaurant week, what I tried may have been one the best meals I’ve had thus far. Will go back again. The cocktails were well made. The music didn’t match the theme of the restaurant but I enjoyed it. The scene was a mixed crowd but mostly young individuals. The decor was aesthetically pleasing. The food is worth the price.
Fantastic food and experience. Excellent cocktails!
A three-course tasting menu is a bit ridiculous. The food was very good, but it really left a bad taste in my mouth to spend over $100 (with drinks and tip) for what amounted to three amuse-bouche.
Excellent food, too bad the portions are so small
The food at Bresca was truly disappointing. It was pretentious with lots of unique ingredients and still managed to taste like absolutely nothing. Its honestly impressive, the chef managed to make foie gras - one of the most famously flavorful ingredients - taste like cardboard. Perhaps it was so bad because we went during restaurant week, but even that is no excuse. I would have preferred a frozen chicken dinner from the Trader Joes next door. I will not be going back to Bresca ever, even though I live just blocks away.
AMAZING everything is absolute perfection. highly recommend the wine pairing
FabuliOS as usual! But too loud.
Amazing!! Easily one of the best meals I've ever had. Kudos to Bresca for impressing during restaurant week. Burrata, scallop crudo, chicken, ambrosia all delish!
We went for a special occasion. Made reservations the first day available. And then showed up and realized they were only serving the restaurant week menu. That is not why we wanted to go to Bresca and they should have sent alerts or something out to people who made reservations. Yes, it was on their website, but we didn't look there after making the initial reservation. The food was good, but it was not the menu we wanted. It is also SO LOUD, I doubt we will go back.
Amazing experience for restaurant week!
The server and bartender provided exceptional service. Food was outstanding with lots of different tastes and textures. We will be back for sure!
Although it was very loud our entire Bresca experience was superb. The food was incredible, from somehow making burrata even better than usual to a foie gras cake pop that was to die for, and the wine was spot on. Our server took great care of us and even let me try another wine just because I expressed interest. 10/10 will be going back!
Although the food was excellent, the service great, the experience was bad because there was TOO MUCH NOISE!
Amazing service. The ricotta gnudi was outstanding
Nice but rather noisy athmosphere. Excellently trained and friendly staff. Innovative food and excellent food-wine pairing. This restaurant should be on every foody’s list !
Great decor, wonderful service, excellent food but unfortunately the noise level is unbearable.
We expected more from a Michelin star restaurant. It’s not that the meal was bad, it’s just that there were so many other better restaurants we ate at in DC.
Food was too salty and came out very late. Made a reservation with birthday mark but did not notice it so we had to mention again. A couple of dishes were great. But we have reservations about this place deserving two michelin stars
Exceptional food accompanied by the service and ambiance.
Gave us complimentary champagne and reserved a round table for our anniversary. The food was a little salty for our taste but the service was excellent and attentive!
My husband and I had an amazing experience. Best duck ever!
Birthday dinner. Hip vibe, lively restaurant, smart waiters and wonderful foodie dishes.
The food was phenomenal — especially the “large plate” chicken, which pretty much blew my mind (and my husband’s), it was so good. The ricotta gnudi were also outstanding.
I would separate service: host and waiting staff. The latter was outstanding.. what one would imagine from a Michelin Star restaurant. The former was very poor. My wife and I went on Friday, August 2nd, for our anniversary. Of course, I planned and made the reservation three weeks prior, through Open Table. When we got there the host told us our name was nowhere to be found; I showed her the confirmation email and still could not locate it. After a while she gave up and apologized (unapologetically) and told us we could not dine there because she did not have the reservation and there was no space available to seat us (there were at least 5 open tables. I understand they probably where reserved, but still, given the situation something could have been done).
This is unacceptable for a restaurant of this caliber that, by definition, being a Michelin Star the whole experience should be flawless, and specially in this circumstance where I had a confirmation email stating that my table would be available. Finally, after even more time in front of her computer, either she found the reservation or made a space available, but in a snub way, we were escorted to our table.
At the end of the day, this is a pretty lousy way to start a celebration dinner.
Perfect... !!! NO words to explain the pleasure that Bresca can give you!
We travel a lot and have eaten at some amazing places and this is now one of the best! The food was outstanding as was the service- we highly recommend
Not a stuffy pretentious Michelin restaurant- great vibe
Everything was delicious. Only complaint is that by 7:30, the duck was gone.
It was great experience and will definitely recommend this place to a friend and do a repeat.
They were late on the reservation, but managed well and they were very kind. Overall very good restaurant.
Food was tasty and presented well, but options were limited.
Food was extremely good, although a bit pricey. The service was as good as it could be. Some of the dishes were amazing, some just good. But overall very special. Not an every day kind of place.
Wonderful experience! Tried the 6-course menu and the plates just kept getting better. Will come back for sure!
great place place
will come back
The food here is amazing! It is the most inexpensive tasting menu you will find from a Michelin star restaurant in D.C. The service is unbeatable! Erma, our waitress, knew the menu like the back of her hand and was extremely educated in the drink pairings and how they complemented the food.
