The tables up front were uncomfortably cold even with sweaters on. The food and service were amazing but a restaurant of this caliber and this level of business where the door is constantly opening should include a vestibule or air curtain so it's not freezing up front
Our dinner was very good. It was extremely noisy which seems to be the norm at dc restaurants. We had a good time regardless of the noise.
The tasting menu is a must!! And if possible please get the wine pairing.
Lovely spot with amazingly attentive service but the food fell a little flat. Glad to have tried it but probably won’t be back.
Everything we tried was off the chart amazing! But the duck stole the show!
I was not impressed by the service at all. Needs work on appearance and professionalism.
I placed a request for food restrictions and was expecting a follow up call or email for restaurant of this tier, but received none. I had to contact the restaurant to inquire about it for confirmation. The response for my request was not what I expected. I understand the substitution available for dietary restrictions but if I’m paying for a prix fixe menu, I prefer not be limited to a vegetarian dish if the original menu item has protein. This is unacceptable. I also requested for the regular menu service so that I can choose items that can accommodate my restrictions because I understand the alternatives to the prix fixe is not of equivalent value and would like to avoid the complicated adjustments chefs have to make. If given the option to order from a regular menu, I wouldn’t have to forfeit my experience. E.g. for protein temperature, I would like medium plus. The server would bring out and tell me medium well. If the server and chef is not aware of what “plus” implies, then let me know so I don’t have to be disappointed when I hear the temperature of my protein is something else. For a Michelin restaurant, the level of service was mediocre, and less of what I usually receive from a Michelin establishment in general. If someone had reach out to follow up on my request, I would’ve been able to plan accordingly to fit my expectations.
Had a belated Valentines dinner with my wife on Sat 15 Feb.
We chose this restaurant because of previous good experiences.
We had the fixed Valentines Menu without wine pairing. Overall the dishes were great! Well presented, good portions and very tasty.
The only dissappointment was the dessert and that is not the first time this happened. Pastry chef needs some guidance.
The service was good friendly and efficient. Want to particularly highlight the two bartenders on that night. Very friendly and well organized. They clearly had skills!
We will come back in the future to savour the Duck a la Presse.
Great food, very good service. Went for Valentine's day special and they accommodated for our taste preferences. Slight mix up with the drinks but they comped for the mistake. Happily would go back.
Great lunch treat and location. Service was superb and the food thoughtful, well presented, and very good. Great location. Don’t hesitate an outstanding experience.
Visited Bresca for Valentine's Dinner. Top-notch service, great food flavors and texture and exceptional service. Quite impressive!!
We really loved the setting. Very beautiful decor. The food was good not great. The portions are very small. The service was impressive. We enjoyed everything but the portion sizes
The food is want to salty. But the beef course is very good, excellent. Other courses are way too salty.
Very nice experience. Pricy but enjoyable. The portions were on the smaller side for being a la carte.
The short rib was exceptional. The beef shavings were also really good. Great experience
All excellent...only exception is the small size of the plates that each person receives. And we shared all of the dishes - the four of us - the fluke was served a little too early...we were still finishing the chicken. But as good...no a better restaurnat...than i have visited in a long time...and i have eaten in a great number of restaurants.
We have come to Bresca several times, the first was when they first opened. It has improved every time.
This visit, the food was truly excellent and the service was also impeccable. The tasting menu was exquisite, and the wine pairings were thoughtful. We will certainly be coming back.
First time at Bresca but will be sure to be back. Drinks were made exactly to my liking and the food exceeded my expectations even though it is a Michelin Star restaurant.. Will definitely go back more often!
We came here to see if the advertising's are really correct or if they're just paid partnership. Ambiance was lovely except loudness problem. Dishes don't come less than 20 minutes(even startings) so if you're going rush skip this place. It was very clear that food freshly made with fresh and high quality ingredients. Cocktails were good but not strong and small amount (4-5oz). Am I going to go again? I don't think so.
Fantastic. The duck was unbelievable.
Loved the ambiance. Service was great. My husband had been before and had rave reviews but we were both disappointed by the tasting, specifically the rabbit saddle. We are both adventurous eaters and this was a miss. We left full and unsatisfied with the food but the service and setting were really nice for a date.
What an extraordinary find and the best part is that we live only two blocks away! We will be back for more
Bresca is the best dining experience in DC at the moment. The food is incredible but accessible and opens all my dining companions' eyes to how excellent food should taste. I'll keep coming back as long as they'll have me. The staff is always very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. The bread with trout roe is divine. The scallops mi-cut have converted every skeptic I've brought here. The huckleberry and meringue desserts are incredible. And the cocktails! Always delicious.
Very good and creative food. Menu was a bit limited but quality of cooking was outstanding
Dining at the banquette may provide a show of other tables' conversations; however, it is a beautiful, cozy restaurant. Rohan duck was worth the $120 and rush for the early sitting. Nice place to have a cocktail too.
For my birthday, 4 of us got together for the first time dining at Bresca. Well exceeding my expectations for the quality of their cocktail bar:pleasure watching the bartenders working on original cocktails, my glasse of Cava Cuvée Rosé at a perfect temperature , services were impeccable:
Been here a few times. Always a wonderful experience. Can’t wait to go back again. And again.
Dinner at Bresca was great! Everything was an imaginative take on more traditional foods. Had never thought of combining foie gras pate with banana but it was delicious! And the Amish chicken took roasted chicken to a level I didn’t know was possible. The portions were all very generous but so good that we ate every bite!
Food was incredibly underwhelming, especially for the price and supposed Michelin star. My wife and I got the tasting menu and only one course was truly delicious. The other 5 were decent but not worth the ridiculous price. Drinks were okay but nothing special. Service was fantastic though. I would never return here. Dozens of significantly better places at less than half the cost.
Best food I've ever had. Excellent service. Dishes were very innovative.
Always an excellent choice!
We booked for a special occasion, and went for the tasting menu. The food was excellent, although reasonably expensive. Our server was excellent, and very knowledgeable.
The only downside was that we were kept waiting for quite a while when we arrived, and then taken to a table that had been sitting empty while we were stood at the door. Not the ideal start, but the rest was good
This is my second visit to Bresca and our party chose the tasting menu. The food was again very interesting and tasty. Some of the wine pairing was surprising at first, but when we tasted the food with the wine, we saw that they were really complementing and elevating one and another. Especially the pairing of the white wine from Rhone with the scallop with the smoked guinea hen. Bravo! Our servers were great and were very nice about answering our questions about the food and the wines.
Food was mostly good but wagyu (on the tasting menu as a “premium add-on”) was horrible. I didn’t even eat it all. I’ve had wagyu many time’s before, and all I can think is maybe this is a very cheap cut of “wagyu.” Not worth the up charge....but honestly, even if it’s free: just don’t bother. Lots of tendons and gristle that I couldn’t even chew...not the smooth marbling wagyu usually has. More like a cheap $8 TGI Fridays steak.
When you order the more expensive tasting menu and get all the premium add-ons (I think we spent $400 total for two people), you’re putting your trust in the restaurant. And they let us down, hence the low star review...won’t be returning.
Celebrated our anniversary here with cocktails and the tasting menu. Fantastic experience all around. Would absolutely recommend.
Want to come back with more people to get the duck, it looked spectacular.
Amazing! No words. Each dish was so perfectly presented and prepared. Best meal in DC in 20 years! Staff excellent as well as bartenders.
Great food, excellent service. Made a wonderful effort to make my husband’s birthday special.
Ryan Raton’s restaurant is one of the most innovative in Washington DC.
Amazing restaurant! Went two nights in a row. 😃
