Excellent food, excellent service and interesting drinks. Portion sizes are a little small, but standard for this type of high-end dining - would definitely recommend.
AMAZING From start to finish!!! The flavor combinations were out of this world! We will be back... very soon
Omg the chef!!! Always an amazing culinary experience. Rivals top restaurants in any city.
Amazing food and amazing service. Very creative flavors and presentation of food and cocktails. Will be back next time I’m in DC.
Food was creative and quite good; service was excellent. But the noise level was so extremely loud that it spoiled the dining experience for us. The whole atmosphere: casual; no tablecloths; tables close together, etc. didn't make sense with the very high level of food and service.
The noise level is awfully painful. So bad that we never want to stick around and truly enjoy ourselves. Everything else is amazing.
Patronizing and fatuous customer relations ( at Management not server level), and more of the “sharing” scam - over priced under sized portions. Bye
My experience at Bresca was outstanding. I was hosting a business dinner, the staff was helpful and did their best to position us where we could talk. The waitstaff and bartender offered spot on recommendations. Dinner was perfect, and we all enjoyed a very creative desert. I would highly recommend.
Bresca is producing amazing food in a lively atmosphere. Our table had the tasting menu, which included items such as foie gras and lobster. Each course is very small, but with wonderful contrasts and flavors. Service is attentive and accommodating. The noise level is high, so if you are a group of more than two, plan to go early or late.
Although we expected a table, we were offered the bar with no wait and had a blast with the bartender providing copious information about each course and drink in the prix fixe menu. Food and drinks were delectable.
as i told opentable customer service at the time, the restaurant did not honor or 745 reservation. We were not seated until 825pm. The host was unapologetic about the delay. It was my wife's birthday.
everything was perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Food pacing is very poor. Drinks are too sweet. 3 out of 6 tasting courses were vinegar based and just terrible. The pallete cleanser is a shot of apple cider vinegar, why would you do this? What a way to ruin wine and cocktails.
We waited an extra 30 minutes after our reservation time for a table, otherwise the food was wonderful!
I really enjoyed my experience overall. The food was excellent, the wine was excellent, and the service was spectacular. The space was very nicely decorated, with the living wall being an aesthetic stand out! The flavors of the food were really quite nice, well balanced but also had some interesting contrasts. The French influence is very clear but there was definitely an Avante garde feel with many of the dishes. For example, the scallops were more like ceviche and the swordfish had an Italian angle to it. They also let us stay waaaaay too long and were very nice about it so that is worth something, right?
We had outstanding service, the space was comfortable, and the food was tasty, though the fish was a bit mushy. However, my poor overall rating was totally because I was given a whitefish, I think halibut, instead of the swordfish I'd ordered. I wasn't told about the substitution, much less asked if it was OK with me. I know what swordfish looks and tastes like, and I resent the assumption that I won't. I didn't make a fuss or send it back because it was a birthday dinner, and I didn't want to ruin the celebration. But no trust, no props, no return.
Exquisite food, charming atmosphere, friendly service. Really the best meal I've had in DC in a long time. The menu is fairly limited (and the pressed duck always sells out early), so taking food restrictions into account, our choices were few. But we were wowed all the same: foie gras with savory madelines, ricotta gnudi, swordfish, chocolate cherry tart--all divine!
Bresca is one of the top restaurants I’ve been to in DC
One of the most memorable dinners of our lives! Food was impeccably prepared and expertly presented. Presentation and service was very well thought out and the staff was friendly and convivial. We had an early dinner and the noise level was not bad at all!
Server was very knowledgeable. Every single dish from the scallops to the whole duck was absolutely divine.
Just amazing food and amazing service. Just a wonderful place.
We came for a meal during our anniversary celebration weekend and were super pleased with the food and drinks. Excellent food that was creative in presentation and design, and the honey cocktail was REALLY cool! Definitely try this spot- no hesitations.
The food is good. But it is very noisy, difficult for talking, and frankly difficult to concentrate on the food. Young professional clientele. Poisson was really cooked superbly—crispy skin, and juicy interior.
A visit to a Washington corresponded with a wedding anniversary and Bresca was a terrific place to celebrate. We had the set menu with wine pairings and every dish was beautifully executed. The poussin was the best of the best and that is really saying something. Excellent, friendly and well informed wait staff and we were also fortunate to sit beside some really lovely fellow diners. A peak dining experience!
We did the tasting menu, which was excellent. However, the amount of time between courses was far too long.
Amazing one of the best meals we have ever had ! Did the tasting menu was not disappointed.
Delightfully modern cuisine, progressive, interesting and complex flavors. Degustation menu is a bargain
The best meal I have ever had in DC !!
Food was superb, with interesting and complex flavors. Mango desert with meringue was particularly phenomenal. Wait staff were superb, attentive, friendly. Noise level was horrible: decibel levels in the high 80's for most of the evening led to very difficult conversation and headaches afterwards. The ceilings are open in industrial-chic, with no soundproofing to speak of. We will not return with that level of sound bordering on the painful throughout the evening. Very sad, as food is quite wonderful.
The food was delicious. Only the dessert was ordinary, a complex mixture of too many ingredients that did not blend into a satisfactory unit. Brescia is high on our list of restaurants to visit. It clearly is one of the best in DC.
We had the chef's menu, which I highly recommend. The courses were varied, creative, and always delicious. Service was impeccable. We went early so noise level was not bad. We almost ordered the famous duck, but glad we did not, as it is for 2-4 people - huge! The chef's menu is a wonderful way to go as an alternative. Not too much food, just right, with a delightful mix of flavors. Bresca is great.
Every interior detail of Bresca is well thought-out. Not a single glass went unpolished or a decoration hastily hung up. The food was also incredibly thought out and articulate. Each plate is small, so it's difficult to share, but delicious.
We had the best experience here! We did the 5 course tasting menu and each course seemed to get better than the last. The sea urchin dish was our overall favorite, a must order! The service was also wonderful- the perfect balance between attentiveness and just leaving us alone to enjoy the experience.
The table was too close to the others, and VERY loud. not great for a “getting to know you” date. We moved to the bar and had a great time :)
Best duck I ever had!
Food is always delicious
Bresca tantalizes your senses with its flavors, textures, and drinks. One of the best new finds I’ve had in years
Decor was adorable, loved them smaller restaurant, creates an intimate feeling. Service was great, our food and drinks were excellent too, the gnudi was our fav along with the ambrosia for dessert. We celebrated our anniversary and had a wonderful evening.
Service was transactional and forced. Several different servers asked the same questions. Ordered the duck for $120 that was very underwhelming- tasted old/reheated. Scallop crudo was grainy and bitter. Shaved beef and gnudi were very good. Coursing was rushed, servers dropped courses on top of each other. Disappointing experience overall.
To die for. I was already a fan of duck but today’s dish was amazing. Get an early reservation as there are only a limited number of the 21 day aged ducks a night.
