To prioritize the health and safety of our team, our guests, and our community, and to assure continuity of business once this unprecedented health crisis is contained, my Partner, Chef Angelo Auriana, and I have made the difficult decision to VOLUNTARILY and TEMPORARILY SUSPEND THE OPERATIONS of our Downtown Los Angeles Restaurants: The Factory Kitchen, BRERA Ristorante, and sixth+mill pizzeria and bar effective tomorrow, March 15th, 2020.
We will do our very best to keep our loyal patrons and incredible dining community informed through our websites and social media as we learn more from the City of LA and LA County Public Health with whom we are in constant contact.
We are looking forward to serving you again very soon, and thank you for your generous support and understanding in this difficult time for our city and Country.
Stay Safe and Healthy,
Terrific Italian restaurant in a beautifully renovated industrial space with creative preparations and fantastic service. The almond wood oven preparations are particularly appetizing.
Walking in, the staff was friendly and very nice. Overall, they checked up on us a good amount of time’s that we never felt rushed or as if they didn’t care. The food was all very delicious. We’d definitely recommend as a nice date or a small friend get together.
Service and food are amazing, you must try Risotto ossobuco. General Manager Jeff is very attentive to customers needs and to small details.
We will be back
Four of us ordered the swordfish and all thought it was very fishy. They mentioned it’s the Italian way and the sauce they use. Others ordered pasta and liked it.
Excellent food and service! A beautiful space for adult dining.
The waiter kept forgetting what we told him. He started to give my guests attitude. I have to help jump in and nicely refresh his memory.
There were only 3 of us. I told him our guest only eats seafood. My husband and I don’t eat beef. He just can’t remember that.
I've been here many times. the space and ambiance are fantastic. food is always good. great service. tucked away in the arts district but worth the drive
This was our first time at Brera. We went as a group of five while we were in the Arts District for another event. The somelier made a terrific wine recommendation - though she shares credit with the person in our group who works in the wine industry. One person ordered a dirty martini which took FOREVER to be delivered to the table. He ordered the drink, the rest of us got beer or water, those items were delivered, we ordered food, conversed with the somelier, got the wine, and then his martini came. It smelled like dirty socks and tasted like water so we sent it back. Ended up canceling that order since we'd already gotten the wine. I hate being "that" person, but if it's bad, it's bad. The waiter made no fuss about it and all was good. The food was very tasty - excellent lamb chops and pastas. I'd go again if I'm in the neighborhood, but given so many amazing choices in DTLA, I don't know that I'd make a special point of hitting up Brera as a specific destination.
Came back for a second visit. Food was very good. Service was very good. It's a little loud in the restaurant. Would go back again.
So yummy and comfortable as always! Can’t wait to come back. We love to dine here with friends.
Definitely not worth the price. The place did have a fancy feel to it but that didn't make our experience any better. The food was definitely a disappointment. Wouldn't go back.
I recommend everything! Professional service made our visit memorable- we had an issue with one of our items (a dish that was barely luke warm) and it was very appropriately dealt with- the restaurant came through above and beyond what we expected.
This was the perfect place for a first date. The food was amazing. The ambiance was perfect and service was on point. It is a little bit on the noisy side though. Overall I would definitely recommend and I’m definitely returning.
Went the day after Valentines Day and was provided the option of the set menu or the regular menu. I asked if the portions from the set menu were a decent size and the waiter said they were big but they ended up being extremely tiny and I left hungry. The noise level prevented it from being a relaxing dinner and they placed the tables in extremely close proximity to each other. To top it off, the legs of our table were broken and the table was unsteady but they refused to move us.
The food was delicious, the staff were very helpful with recommendations and the ambiance is great!
BRERA is an absolute marvel to dine at. The service is beyond five stars and the food was delicious. What else could you ask for?! I wish there was a bit more distance between tables on the bench area but it wasn't too bad. Just a preference.
Valentine’s Day was ruined , the food was atrocious and the menu was small and vague , staff was very friendly
Really good restaurant, I would definitely go back again
Great meal, Gnocchi was awesome along with Wagu and Lobster.
It was all great except that there was cold draft coming in each time the door opens. A restaurant this caliber should have double doors or a curtain to ensure this doesn’t happen.
Excellent staff. Our server knew his stuff and made excellent recommendations. Also he clearly and concisely gave quality descriptions of foods and wines when were trying to pick between a few options.
The bussers took great care of us too. It always felt timely when they came to the table. We even asked one of them a question about the food and he also knew the answer.
It matters to me when staff really knows the menu. It helped us have an incredible meal with my mom on Valentine’s Day.
The swordfish. Get the swordfish. I didn’t know I liked swordfish. And I really I don’t. I LOVE it. (So the chef was top notch too, obviously.)
The setting is well appointed and romantic too. But not overly so- I could do a work dinner and it would still be perfect.
Anyway, Brera made my very short list.
We will absolutely be back.
Place and food was amazing. The all around service is what you get at high end places. I was really surprised at how attentive the staff was , from setting your silverware to switching your napkin. Very good etiquette and mannerism. Thank You Brera. I will be coming back and referring friends.
Good food, great ambience, could be better on service, our waitress wasn’t that great but overall a good experience. Will go there again, maybe on different table area though.
A fantastic evening, all around. Great cocktails to start the evening , before moving on to the wine list. Knowledgable staff helped us pair with our mains (I dont know much about Italian wines). Our starters were so good we ended up ordering g more before our main courses came out. Desert was also a tremendous success. So good we already have reservations for a fixed menu whiskey pairing next week!
Beautiful, innovative restaurant in the Arts District. Service, food quality, atmosphere, valet and overall design all high. Strong recommend.
Exceeded my expectations. Everything from the service to the food was outstanding.
Nice ambiance, nice restaurant. Just nice overall, nothing amazing. Had reservations at 7:30, but didn't get seated until 7:50. Drinks were good, but very overpriced. Food flavor was very good, but portions were small. They also ran out of spaghetti so we had to order something else we didn't really want. Steak was cooked perfect. Waitress was attentive and nice.
Start with this: I needed lozenges the following morning. That's because it was impossible for the couple on one side of the table to hear us on the other side a mere two feet away, so shouting was essential. I hate that. Nothing ruins a meal more quickly than noise that makes a jet taking off sound subdued.
As for the food, it didn't come close to the hype. And, with such a limited menu, it would make sense to make certain that everything is truly exceptional. It wasn't. It was all single tastes -- the same when you swallowed as when you put it in your mouth. No shift at all in making its way from your lips, over your tongue, and after chewing. Purely one dimensional.
And I do better plating when I make things at home... for myself. I don't believe in photographing food and posting it online but, if I did, this would be an example of what not to do.
Our server was accommodating, but she tended to favor the far side of the table. So, because of the noise level, the people close to her had to lean over and tell me what she said. That's frustrating.
Then there's the pricing. No. It's not at all reflective of the experience of the food, the surroundings, or the service. Maybe if I still was in my 20s, I'd feel differently (because I'd have so few bases of comparison). But I've been in too many great restaurants to feel that this was worth the money.
Most of us loved our food, the service was outstanding as was the ambience. I would definitely recommend Brera to anyone looking for a good restaurant in DTLA.
Great spot with a sleek warehouse vibe.
Only downside is it’s off the beaten path and in a bit of Sketchy location.
Brera is one of our favorite LA restaurants. Definitely not the typical red sauce Italian! Several very interest and delicious preparations and do order the farinata (an off the menu surprise). I could make a meal of the bread alone, certainly among the best anywhere. Drinks and wine are also great. Service is always first-rate. Just a terrific spot!
Excellent dining experience. Food was delicious with original flavors and excellent presentation. Service was faultless - attentive, sociable and they catered to our special occasion. The restaurant is based in an old industrial building, sympathetically renovated to create a visually interesting space with a feeling of high quality yet maintains an intimate vibe.
We were seated 45 mins after our reservation time. Management was great and made it up for it by providing an appetizer on the house and champagne. Our waitress on the other hand was a bit condescending. Food was mediocre. One meal had to be sent back after they neglected our allergy request. Two of the meals came out after everyone at the table had already finished their meal. Not a single apology from our server. It’s a beautiful restaurant with great atmosphere. Maybe our experience would have been different with a different server.
Overall great experience! Food was SO GOOD - definitely will be coming back again.
Delicious food, great service, beautiful ambiance.
My guests loved everything from the food to the drinks. Always a great spot for a business dinner.
One of our favorite restaurants downtown
Brera and Factory Kitchen prove themselves over and over to be some of the best food and service in all of Los Angeles. Excellent value for your dollar.
Overall very good experience but we were a party of 6 and one of our group lamb came out 10 minutes after everyone was served only to be very undercooked. They comped us one dessert but truly should of comped the meal.
Made reservariam through ópera-balé for lunch which was confirmed biut when hit there was overcharles as lunch
A chego blow
