Always excellent. They have the best bread in the world!
Excellent food in a beautiful space. Courteous and efficient Staff. A little high end but worth it.
We always enjoy coming to Brera Ristorante for special celebrations. In this case it was my husband's birthday. The restaurant has a nice industrial chic feel, the service and food are both great. The server forgot one of our desserts but quickly brought it out after we told the server, and they also did not charge us for the dessert. I do wish they expand the menu more to include more varieties instead of a simple menu. People are looking for varieties and feel limited when the menu is over simplified.
What an amazing place! The ambience was great, the food was outstanding and the service was impeccable.
Waiters kept coming by every 5 minutes to ask if we needed anything. We felt rushed to leave.
Fantastic setting in what looks like an old factory or warehouse. The food is a bit pricey but well worth it. We went on a rainy weekday so it was quiet and amazing.
Our dining experience at Brera was one of our best ever. We started with the Caesar salad, which was far beyond any Caesar I'd ever had. - rich and tasty and it had anchovies, which Caesar salads are supposed to have, but you just never see anymore. And it was a big salad - the three of us split it.
My wife had a meat pasta dish, which we were invited to taste and it was delicious. And our friend and I both ordered the osso bucci. I've had osso bucco at a fine restaurant in Italy; this was every bit as good. The meat was perfectly seasoned and literally fell off the bone. Oh, and I nearly forgot the Gentleman's Breakfast cocktail with the bone marrow-infused bourbon. Wonderful!
Brera is just a sensationally good restaurant. We're recommending it to all of our friends who love Italian food, and plan to return soon and often.
We had an AMAZING time tonight. The food was truly some of the best we’ve ever experienced - and that’s saying something considering we eat out A LOT. We’ve been to some of the best restaurants in LA, NY, Chicago, Italy, etc. and have to say we were absolutely wowed! Our server, PARIS, was amazing and guided us through the menus like a champ, and helped answer all of our questions. She is a big part of what made tonight special. We’ll definitely be back! Thanks so much!!
Other than the overall look and vibe, this restaurant has sadly changed completely from the first three times I went way back, and not for the better.
I went the other night with my good friend and her sister. Right off the bat we were early for our table but waited past the reservation time to be seated. When we did, we had one menu for the three of us, no drinks menu. After I walked over and asked for more menus, which I was handed with no "sorry about that" or anything, we were approached and asked about starting with drinks... without any sort of welcome and without realizing we didn't have the drinks menu. Already the tone for the night had been set unfortunately.
After we got the drinks sorted out, we asked about additional vegetarian options, as there were very few on the menu. Our clueless waiter just started listing off... the vegetarian options we had already read. When asked if we could just add mushrooms to a simple pasta dish, he seemed confused as to which mushrooms they had and if they could be added. We just gave up and ordered what there was, if only to move things along.
The food finally came out (we got the gnocchi, spaghettoni, and mafaldine) and no one was blown away with their choices. And remember, I've come before where everything was phenomenal. When the manager came around to ask if everything was okay, with a very reluctant energy I may add, we were honest in our feedback; but his half assed response was to drop his name the "next time" we come by so he can hook us up somehow. Like bro, do we sound like we're planning a "next time"?
So sad to say that that was the last time I'll be going to or recommending Brera. Shame because the place still has a cool vibe; but the service (or lack thereof) and the mediocre food really ruined that.
It was great service and ambiance but the food was not outstanding.
Excellent Italian food, but not American spaghetti and meat sauce Italian food. Italian food you can't pronounce but you want to try anyway!!! Very, very helpful service staff. They happily explained anything we had questions about.
Fantastic venue and overall a great experience with fantastic food!
Everything about this restaurant is excellent. The quality of the food and the service for our table of eight was impeccable. Highly recommended.
We went to an early dinner here. It was the only place we could get into before the opera. I was pleasantly surpised with how good the Risotto was. Both of us ordered Risotto. I order the Bone Marrow Risotto, and She ordered the Funghi Risotto. I lived in Italy, and normally do not find Risotto here which is prepared well. However the Chef here at Brera did an amzing Job preparing the risotto. It reminded me of Risotto I used to have in Italy. The server said that the chef ships in the Risotto from his home town in the north of Italy.
This is a truly excellent restaurant:Superb cuisine,Friendly and competent service, and extraordinary ambience. What else could you ask for?
Not worth it. Too expensive first for the location which letterally you need to get thru Skid Row to reach the place, but mostly food not at any level even compared to Olive Garden . Don't want to get into dishes' details cause actually I want to forget them. The Michelin 2019 sticker at the door must be uploaded online and printed, cause really I dont believe any Michelin inspector ever went inside that place. Wine list outrageously expensive like 6 or 7 times more then real wine price.
Mark was an excellent server . Food was delicious but portions were kind of small . Good place for a date or large group . Carpaccio was yummy
Service was not great. Manager was not knowledgeable about wines. Appetizers were not good. Server did not recommend anything or offer any information. Main dishes were good
We sat at the bar for dinner and the service was relaxed but attentive. The beer selection is limited but the mixed drinks were good. The prices are high and there is a limited selection of steaks.
It was okay. It could improve.
The best! Server Cecily and bartender Kyle are so great -- helpful, personable, knowledgeable, friendly, attentive! Food and drink are great too.
The waiteress we had was not very knowledgeable of the menu . My girlfriend was give a wrong order and then the correct order came , a bit of mess. The food itself was good and the Gm, of the restaurant invited us back on him for the mess ups. I will give them another try. The ambiance was nice and it reminded me of a upscale Tuscan farm house. My hope is we get a better waitress and a overall better experience.
Service was very slow and not very attentive by the waiter
My wife and I love this restaurant and have been many times. This was a special occasion. We were disappointed. A Wednesday night. The place was empty. Maybe four other parties in the whole (large) restaurant. We had the farinata (a chickpea crepe), which is our favorite dish here and not on the menu. Still fantastic! We also had their delicious olives, a wonderful caesar salad with grilled little gem lettuce that was wonderful, a spinach pasta handmade with very wide noodles and mushrooms. The pasta was amazing and the sauce with mushrooms was good but a bit salty. We had an aged rib eye that was cooked just right, but extremely fatty. The meat was delicious, but since they charge for this steak by the ounce, getting a piece that had so much fat was not good! The donuts with salted caramel sauce were perfect. The service, unfortunately, was less than perfect. We had a nice young woman who hovered too much - at one point she took tried to take the olives while there were still 4 or five on the plate, then removed the plate under them. She also discouraged us from ordering things at times, based on her own idea about how they might go with other things we'd ordered. Anyway, she was quite pleasant just inexperienced and undertrained, I suspect.
We've been here a couple of times previously, and always thought it was good/pretty good, but this evening... I don't know what changed (I asked if the owner/chef was different: no), but it was FLAW.LESS.
The service (Paris I believe? I even looked at the receipt to make sure I mentioned her name here, but they all operated like a good team), the food, the timing of the food... the stuffed zucchini flowers, the lamb chops, the other dishes (sorry, can't remember, but two other dishes were ordered, so by now, I'm pretty sure it's all pretty damn delicious). AH! The Caesar salad! My goodness. Best I've ever had. Trust me. It's different. In the best way.
Desserts. Wow. Even my latte was sumptuous.
Really. It was so good, I had to sit down and write this as soon as I got home.
As a party of four, we appreciated the quiet, but sorry for them they weren't busier; I hope that's not a regular thing as we will definitely return.
Only ONLY criticism: the bathrooms were uh, not well tended to... but maybe I had bad timing.
Really enjoyed this spot. Staff from reception to bar tender to server to manager were all exceptional. The food was fantastic. Pork shank that fell off the bone and was so flavorful. Just go and enjoy yourself.
We ordered just regular water then they charged $9 steel water. and too fast take away plates still eating. Thats’s only thing not satisfied.
This restaurant was fantastic, the food was great, and the service was excellent. The drinks were excellent and every plate we ordered knocked it out of the park. So nice to know we have a restaurant like this in LA.
Wonderful experience - food was excellent, our server was great, and overall ambience was perfect. Got there a little early for our 8:00 pm reservation and hung out at the bar. It was Saturday night and the place was full but it didn't feel crowded. Bartender was helpful and attentive. Easily transferred check to the table. Apparently they share all tips, so you don't need to close it out before being seated. We sat in one of the back rooms off the main room so it was a little more quiet that the main floor which was great for us but you still felt that you were right in the mix. Service was excellent Food was great from the appetizers to the entrees to the dessert. Highly recommend.
Always great...food, service, ambiance...and omg, the best bread in the world!
The restaurant looked great, but overall it wasn’t amazing, pretty standard food, the salad had sand like pieces in it, and it wasn’t the bread crumbs like pieces of grit, like it hadn’t been cleaned properly - we left it, the pasta was ok, but not amazing, the risotto was good but that’s about it. Overall not amazing Italian at all, much more delicious Italian places to eat in the city, which high standards make this place look Pretty underwhelming unfortunately - if this was in a small town it might be good, but in LA, nope!
The quantity of the dishes is ridiculous. We spent 250$ and ended hungry that we had to prepare a sandwich when we got home. The food was delicious thats true but the portions where tooo small. Really ridiculous price for the quantity. We would never comeback.
It was a wonderful dining experience! It had great ambiance, interesting cocktails and great starters. The entrees were all fantastic and the wine list was first class. The key was the service, everyone was very nice and completely knowledgeable about the offerings, they made perfect suggestions. We had a great time and will definitely go there again.
Sixth time eating at Brera (lunch and dinner). Food is always good. Salads are hearty. Drinks are delicious - although a bit high in price.
Service is on spot! Love Brera.
The ambiance is great. Host and bartender were welcoming but the waiter was cold. The gnocchi was delicious, the polpo was well cooked, but the tagliagette and milanese weren’t flavorful or worth the price. I would come back for the gnocchi though, the texture and savory cheese is great.
Had a great experience at this restaurant last night some of the best food I’ve had in a while would recommend to anyone just make sure to make a reservation in advance
Fish and chickpeas yum. Octopus was ok
Food was delicious, wine selection extensive and service was attentive.
