Brentwood Restaurant & Wine Bistro Ratings and Reviews
We arrived and were seated immediately. The window at our table was cold due to very low outside temperature and we were allowed to move to a different table. Our waiter was aware of our special occasion, greeted us cordially, and was attentive throughout the evening. Everything tasted great. Timing between courses was proper. Met and chatted with the Chef after our meal was done. It was an enjoyable dining experience, and we will be back.
We enjoyed a wonderful evening celebrating our anniversary. The staff made it a very special evening with their friendliness and professionalism.
The Brentwood is a charming old house that has been tastefully decorated. The evening we dined, there was a rather large, boisterous party celebrating a birthday. The home is divided such that we dined in a quiet, romantic room while the Birthday party had a great time in the room next door.
The menu is French tho there are some Low Country dishes and the entire menu features local seafood. We enjoyed our appetizers, salads, entres and deserts.
The Brentwood is the perfect place for a special evening or if you're just in the mood for French food. They have a special fixed price menu for early diners so check it out as well as their wine dinners and haunted house evenings.
We just moved to the area and this was our first time at the restaurant. It was our anniversary and they decorated the table which made it nice. The food was very good and the owner/chef Eric came out after he was done cooking and visited the tables. It's nice to see the owner out chatting with guests. Love the old house and the ambiance. We enjoyed our evening and will be back.
We don't eat out often but when we do we pick the best places in North Myrtle Beach we can find. The Brentwood is on our "go-to" list for dinner out. The ambiance is lovely upstairs or down. The food is always great. Brentwood has a terrific Happy Hour with $5.00 small plates that can easily make a meal. The patio is lovely especially when they have music. Menu selections include a fixed price menu that allows you to have a meal with salad and dessert along with the chef's wine pairings. I recommend it highly!
Was our first visit to Brentwood, as a recommendation from friend/neighbor.
Charming atmosphere in renovated early 1900's home.
Server Jeff was very informative and pleasant, and actually had owner/chef Eric come out and speak with us.
We will be back, and would highly recommend
My wife and I enjoyed a lovely evening at Brentwood. Our server was very nice and explained the specials and our options very well. The ambiance in the restaurant - a house built around 1910 - is really wonderful. The food was very good and we were very happy with our meals. We would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a romantic evening.
After a dozen visits over a period of a 2-3 year Brentwood never disappoints. We vacation in the area and this is always a must-go especially if with friends. Food is always fabulous and service is excellent. Wine list is full of entry level, basics and extravagant choices. The escargot and she crab is outstanding as is the lamb chops and stuffed lobster.
We dined at Brentwood with another couple when we traveled to the Myrtle Beach area. We stayed in North Myrtle Beach and this restaurant was very convenient for us. It was our first time to eat there but we plan to make it a regular stop whenever we come back to visit the area. The food quality, ambiance, and service were all something that is special compared to all the chain places, sports bars, and fried fish places in the crowded Myrtle Beach restaurant scene.
I attended the restaurant with my elderly neighbor and friend who was recently widowed. It was her birthday celebration. It was a very enjoyable evening. The service was top notch with our server suggesting items for the meal . We thoroughly enjoyed all the selections. Each course was very flavorful. It was a treat and special pleasure for the chef to come out of the kitchen and greet us. Most of all, the entire evening made my friend very happy. We have been telling our friends.
We've been here a number of times. With one exception the food, service, ambiance and value have been great. This time, we both had a Chef's specialty, the potato crusted triggerfish. We both agreed that it was marvelous. Thin slices fingerling potatoes arranged as scales on the fish. Perfectly done and on a bed of leeks which was perfect to balance the richness of the sauce. We clearly understand why this has been an award winning dish for the chef. This is our go-to place for a special meal in the North Myrtle Beach/Little River area.
We enjoyed an excellent visit to the Brentwood Restaurant for our daughter's Birthday. The food and service as well as the ambience were all amazing. Our server, Fonda was excellent and it was an awesome evening for our daughter and our family. We highly recommend the restaurant!
My husband and I and another couple were celebrating my husband's birthday. When we arrived, the table was decorated for the occasion! Our server, Ross, was attentive and personable. Service was excellent. Food was excellent. We enjoyed the quiet atmosphere because we were able to converse without shouting - a plus considering the noise level of many restaurants in the area. (One of us really enjoyed the bouillabaisse and every "ooh" and "ahh" and "yum" was easily heard!) We had a lovely evening. Thank you!
We are so full and sleepy from our three course excellent meal tonight at the Brentwood! However, we promised our amazing server Fonda to put this review on Open Table before we pass out with smiles on our faces. The salad with the poached pears and blue cheese was fantastic as always. My friend said the haricots verts were the yummiest, crispiest green beans she had ever had. The steak was crusty on the outside and so tender inside. The crab cake was delicious, as were the scallops. Their whipped butter is a trade secret, we could only get the first few ingredients from our wise server. I had the escargot, was fantastic as always, and the fried green tomatoes with goat cheese, were crispy and tangy and perfect. Fonda told us about the history of the Brentwood house and gave us the lowdown on the area. Thanks Fonda, see you again next year!
Take great food and add friendly great service, and you can't go wrong.
Excellent food in a quiet setting. Menu is creative and varied.
Lamb was great. Salmon Tartare was very good appetizer.
Only problem was no room for dessert and they looked really good
Our server (Fonda) was really good. She was very patient and informative in discussing the menu and checked back with us just the right amount.
Great dinner with out of town family. My family is used to fine dining in a bigger city and the Brentwood really impressed them. The service was great, the food was exceptional. All but one in the group had the Triggerfish that the chef prepared for the Coastal Uncorked competition and won. I strongly suggest to the owners they add the triggerfish to the regular menu. I would probably order it 80% of the time.
Usually have great service .. but it was awful this time .. we sat upstairs where I like to sit and it took almost an hour and a half to get our food.. the waitress did not come back during that tomr to ask if we wanted another drink etc. When the food came one of my friends got the wrong entree...the food( I got the potato encrusted trigger fish) was fantastic!!!! We were comped a drink or a dessert for the poor service .... then when the bills came, they charged me and one of my friends for an extra drink that we did not order... it was 2 of my friend's first time there and I was embarrassed about the poor service.. my friends were not happy and I'm sure they would never go back.. I will go back because I love the food but if I get poor service again, I won't be back.
We thought the noise was tremendous, we could hardly hear each other at a table for two! Our waitress was constantly trying to upcharge. Our wine was only 1/4 filled. We asked for happy hour and were told we were 5 mins late! It was my birthday but we never mentioned it!
We weren't into a big meal so me and my husband ordered from the small plate menu. He had the duck confit, awesome, tender and tasty. I had the Shrimp & grits. I like how they have grit cakes and large shrimp. Different presentation, very creative.
After reading excellent reviews on Brentwood, we were disappointed after dining there. I don't mind paying for good food, but my husband's filet steak was tough. I had the "special" flat iron steak, which was good. The portions were very small and we were not full when we left. Perhaps we just don't enjoy the French dining experience. The atmosphere was inviting, but we were seated in the very front, and were not able to see any of the restaurant.
Had an outstanding meal at The Brentwood this evening. The food was superb - high quality ingredients, thoughtfully prepared, and artfully plated. An extensive wine selection offered numerous pairings and we selected a reasonably priced wine that went very well with our courses. From Kristen (our server), to Dan (the manager), and chef/owner Eric, everyone was incredibly attentive and responsive to ensure that our dining experience was wonderful. Though we had a very nice meal across the street at The Parson's Table the night before, it did not even come close to our meal at The Brentwood. We will surely be back, and highly recommend it!
